Objective To study the efficacy of simple Chinese medicine steam spray and comprehensive rehabilitation nursing after facial burn deep Ⅱ degree. Methods 80 patients were randomized into the treatment group (40 cases) and the control group (40 cases). The treatment group was given the treatment of Chinese medicine steam spray. The control group was given the treatment of Chinese medicine steam spray, pressure therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation training and psychotherapy. The clinical efficacy of two groups was evaluated respectively after 3 months. Results After 3 months, the skins of most of patients in the treatment group were nearly normal with no pigmentation and scar hyperplasia. The cure rate was 72.5 %,the obvious effective rate was 12.5 %,and the effective rate was 7.5 %.Some patients in the control group were lightly and inconspicuously pigmented, but the pigmentation area was reduced. The colour of their skins was not different from that of the normal skin. The cure rate was 42.5 %,the obvious effective rate was 12.5 %,and the effective rate was 25.0 %.The effects of the two groups were significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusions Comprehensive rehabilitation nursing after the facial burn can reduce the pigmentation and scar hyperplasia and improve the quality of life.
2.Expressions of TFF1 and TFF3 in prostate cancer and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia and their clinical significance.
National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(4):315-319
OBJECTIVETo explore the expressions of trefoil factor 1 (TFF1) and trefoil factor 3 (TFF3) in prostate cancer (PCa) and prostate intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) and their clinical significance.
METHODSUsing immunohistochemistry, we detected the expressions of TFF1 and TFF3 in the prostatic tissues of 89 cases of PCa, 50 cases of PIN, and 65 cases of benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), and evaluated their clinical significance.
RESULTSThe positive rates of TFF1 and TFF3 expressions were 77. 53% and 48. 31% in PCa and 66.00% and 30.00% in PIN, significantly higher than 49.23% and 13. 85% in BPH (P <0. 05). The expression of TFF1 was not correlated with Gleason score (P >0. 05), while that of TFF3 was significantly higher in the PCa cases with Gleason score ≤7 than in those with Gleason score > 7 (70. 00% vs 42. 03%, P <0. 05). No significant correlation was observed between TFF1 and TFF3 expressions in PCa (P >0. 05).
CONCLUSIONThe expressions of TFF1 and TFF3 may contribute to the occurrence and progression of PCa, and therefore could be used as laboratory indexes in the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and prognosis of PCa.

PURPOSE: This study examined the health status of elderly. METHOD: This is a survey using cross-sectional design. The subject were 122 elders who were 65 and over in Daejeon. Instrumental activity of daily living, nutrition and Body mass index for physical health status, social engagement for social health status, and depression and loneliness for emotional health status were measured. RESULTS: Independent level was medium, and nutrition and BMI were normal level. Social engagement score was 2.38 which means low. Mean depression level was 7.71 and mean loneliness level was 56.77, which means high. The risk factors for vulnerable health status were no spouse, lower pocket money, living at institution, poor subjective health status. CONCLUSION: This finding indicates that the elderly subjects were in normal physical health status, but social and emotional health status were poor.

Objective To investigate the right ventricular morphology and function of patients with atrial septal defects by single beat real-time three-dimensional echocardiography. Methods Thirty-four healthy volunteers and twenty-seven ASD patients were enrolled consecutively as normal controls and the ASD group respectively.Single cardiac cycle real-time three dimensional echocardiography was performed in all to evaluate parameters concerning modality and systolic function of participants' right ventricle. The relationship of indexed right ventricular end diastolic volume (IEDVRV) and end systolic volume(IESVRV)with mean pulmonary arterial pressure measured through cardiac catheter and systolic pulmonary artery pressure calculated though the three tricuspid regurgitation were observed. Results Indexed right ventricular end diastolic volume (IEDVRv),end systolic volume(IESVRV),right ventricular stroke volume (ISVRV) and right ventrieular ejection fraction (RVEF) were greater in the ASD group than in controls (P < 0.05).IEDVRv and IESVRV had positive relation with pulmonary pressure measured by cardiac catheter and systolic pulmonary artery pressure calculated though the three tricuspid regurgitation. Conclusions Single cardiac cycle real-time three dimensional echocardiography has an obvious advantage than normal test in evaluating the change of the right ventricular function and shapes, furthermore, single cardiac cycle real-time three dimensional echocardiography can indirectly determined the pressure of the pulmonary without wound.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2011;9(6):588-591
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has its own system of diagnosis and treatment theory, and its methods for evaluating clinical efficacy are different from those of Western medicine. Applying evaluation techniques and methods that are used in Western medicine mechanically to TCM will not work. So building evaluation techniques, which adhere to regulations and characteristics of TCM, is necessary and imperative. As the quality of life and patient-reported outcome instruments were brought into practice and developed, clinical evaluation ideas and methods for TCM are provided with an opportunity for development. This article puts forward the concept of subjective complex outcomes (SCOs), which constitutes subjective feelings gained from the patient, doctor and caregiver, different from laboratory parameters. SCOs provide a multidimensional and complex health-related quality of life (HRQL) assessment and focus on the source of assessment information of diseases. This article also introduces a case study building SCO methods of TCM treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, in order to promote discussion and provide a platform for future research.

Objective To analyze the clinical and imaging features of 2 siblings with leukoencephalopathy due to NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone)flavoprotein 2 (NDUFV2) gene mutation,in order to better understand and diagnose it earlier. Methods Clinical and follow-up data of the proband and his brother were collected.Clinical features including symptoms, signs and cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were analyzed, and 2 patients were followed up for a long time.Sanger sequencing, targeted next generation sequencing, and whole exome sequencing were performed to identify potential genetic variations in the 2 patients and their parents. Results (1) Clinical characteristics and follow-up:ages of onset were 4 months and 1 year respectively. Both of the patients presented rapid motor regression hyperinyotonia, positive pathological character.During the follow-up the condition became stable, motor function and cognition improved gradually after cocktail therapy.(2) Brain MRI of the 2 patients showed prominent abnormalities in deep cerebral white matter, presenting T1 hypointense,T2 and fluid attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) hyperintense in the periventricular area.FLAIR images revealed that the abnormal white matter was partially rarefied and cavitated.Diffusion weighted images (DWI) showed high signals along the periphery of the involved areas. The follow-up MRI showed the cavitation still existed and even expanded, and DWI showed regional linear or spotty high signals around the original lesions.(3) Novel mutations in NDUFV2 gene,c.467T>A and c.404G>C,were identified in proband and his brother. The former inherited from his father, while the latter inherited from his mother, which was the new mutation not reported in the international. Conclusions The clinical features of the brothers presented subacute leukoencephalopathy with relatively stable or improved outcome. This was distinctive from the phenotypic features reported in 12 cases with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or Leigh syndrome. The finding expanded the phenotypic spectrum of NDUFV2 mutations.Pathogenic gene of these patients which is the basis of genetic counseling for this family was determined.
