1.Research Progress in Microbiol Removal of Sulfur Dioxide
Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
SO2 is one of the main pollutants in the air. Tradational disposal methods are limited in the industrial application owing to their high cost. Some foreign scholars began to research in microbial treatment of SO2 both in laboratory test and in full-scale test in recent years and good results were achieved. This method can significantly lowering costs and acquire sulfur product and microbial biomass protein of high quality. The microbial method which is simple, effect and of low costs can satisfy needs of industry and give attention to environmental, economical and social benefits, therefore, it will have amplitude and well application prospects.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Microbial production of 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) by photosynthetic bacteria compared to other bacteria and algae was reviewed. During anaerobic cultivation of the Rhodobacter spaeroides mutant strain, control of the redox potential was effective or producing large amounts of extracellular ALA. ALA has been practically applied in agriculture as herbicide, pesticide and growth-promoting factor for plants. New agriculture applications including salt tolerance and cold temperature tolerance of plants were also desired. Finally recent medical application for cancer treatment, tumor diagnosis and other clinical uses were discussed.

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(10):-
Stroke is one of the most important causes of disability throughout the world.Epide- miological and clinical studies have demonstrated that statins significantly decrease the incidence of ischemic stroke. In addition to lipid-lowering effect, statins may also have a number of other acting mechanisms that are not dependent on reducing cholesterol levels. Moreover, statins inhibit cerebral vasospasm caused by subarachnoid hemorrhage. For most of the individuals, the safety and tolerability of statins are well.

Chinese Journal of Neurology 2009;42(8):529-531
Objective To study changes of trigemino-cervical reflex (TCR) in patients with Kennedy's disease (KD). Methods The parameters of TCR were analyzed among patients with KD, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and healthy controls. Results The parameters of ipsilateral P19, N31, A and contralateral P19, N31, A among patients with KD were (23.91±4.84), (35.45±4.76) ms, 1.24± 0.33 and (24.34±4.82), (36.20±4.91) ms, 1.19±0.25, respectively. Compared with the healthy controls((18.37±2.16), (28.50±1.56) ms, 1.90±0.43; (18. 72±2. 18), (29. 19±1.43) ms, 1.84 ± 0. 40), the difference in each parameter was significant (ipsilateral : t = 5.77, 8. 19, -6. 64; contralateral:5.05, 7.62, -7.77, all P<0.01). Conclusion The parameters of TCR were abnormal in KD patients, indicating that the trigeminal nerves and the bulbar may be involved in the disease.

OBJECTIVETo explore therapeutic effects of Modified pinning combined with external tension band for the treatment of Gartland type III humeral supracondylar fractures in children.
METHODSFrom February 2009 to November 2010, 79 children with Gartland type III humeral supracondylar fractures were treated by modified pinning (pinning cross internal and external condyle assisted with lateral condyle) combined with external tension band (crossing needle end and hooking around) through lateral approach of elbow. There were 47 males and 32 females, with an average age of 8.7 years (ranging from 2.5 to 14 years). The time from injury to operation was 2 h to 8 d. The elbow joint function and Carrying angle were observed before and after treatment. The Flynn criteria were used to evaluate therapeutic effects.
RESULTSSixty-one patients were followed up (18 patients' data were lost) for 6-30 months (mean 13.5 months). According to Flynn criteria, 53 patients got excellent result, 7 good and 1 fair.
CONCLUSIONTreatment of child Gartland type III humeral supracondylar fractures with modified pinning combined with external tension band through lateral approach of elbow is believed to be an ideal method, which has advantages of reliable fixation, rapid recovery and less complications.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2000;0(03):-
Aim To observe the effect of extracts of ginkgo biloba leaves(GbE) on platelet adhesion and thrombosis. Methods The platelet adhesion was assayed by rotating glass-globe method. The thrombogenesis method in artery-vein bypass was applied to observe thrombosis in vivo. The Chandler method was applied to induce thrombosis in vitro. The tail bleeding time was recorded by shearing tail method. Results GbE significantly decreased platelet adherence rate in rabbits, decreased the weight of thrombus produced in artery-vein bypass in rabbits, shortened the length and reduced dry weight of thrombus of rats in vitro, prolonged the tail bleeding time in mice. Conclusion GbE inhibits the platelet adhesion and thrombosis.

Objective To evaluate the effect of early continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT)on patients with acute kidney injury(AKI)induced by severe sepsis. Methods A prospective study was conducted. 160 patients with AKI induced by severe sepsis admitted to intensive care unit(ICU)of Qingyuan People's Hospital between October 2009 and June 2013 were enrolled. According to the starting time of CRRT,the patients were randomly divided into two groups:an earl y treatment group and a regular treatment group(each,80 cases). All patients were treated in accordance with the principle of the cluster of severe sepsis. In early treatment group, the patents began to receive CRRT when the amount of urine output was<0.5 mL?kg-1?h-1 and had taken continuous conventional treatment over 6 hours, but the curative effect was not ideal. In the regular treatment group, the patients began to apply CRRT when the amount of urine output was<0.5 mL?kg-1?h-1 and had taken continuous conventional treatment persistently over 24 hours or difficultly corrected acidosis or heart failure developed. The changes in urine output, creatinine, saturation of blood oxygen, and albumin, and 28-day survival rate, length of ICU stay, time of organ support were measured and compared between the two groups to evaluate the therapeutic significance of the early CRRT. Results The mean length of ICU stay(day:6.5±1.7 vs. 8.2±1.6),length of organ support(day:5.3±1.8 vs. 6.0±1.4),the recovery time of urine amount(day:3.4±0.9 vs. 4.8±0.5)in early treatment group were significantly shorter than those in regular treatment group(all P<0.01);recovery ratio of urine in 1 week in early treatment group was significantly higher than that in regular treatment group(46.2%vs. 28.8%,P<0.05). The creatinine recovery ratio in 1 week in early treatment group was lower than that in regular treatment group(55.0%vs 78.8%),but there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05). Early treatment group and regular treatment groups of creatinine recovery time were similar(day:5.1±1.3 vs. 5.2±1.2). 28-day survival rate in early treatment group was higher than that in regular treatment group(41.2%vs. 35.0%),but there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05). Conclusion It is found that there is no evidence to suggest that early CRRT may improve the prognosis of the patients with AKI induced by severe sepsis, but it may be in favor of shortening the time of urine recovery, length of stay in ICU,length of organ support and length of dialysis.
