Objective To explore clinical results of arthroscopically assisted treatment for tibial plateau fractures. Methods Thirty-eight cases of tibial plateau fractures were treated under arthoscope.According to the Schatzker classification, there were 8 cases of type Ⅰ, 10 cases of type Ⅱ,11 cases of type Ⅲ,4 cases of type Ⅳ,3 cases of type Ⅴ,and 2 cases of type Ⅵ,respectively.Routine arthoscopic examination of the knee found 15 cases of meniscus injury,12 cases of partial or complete rupture of anterior cruciate ligament(ACL),and 7 cases of medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury.Fracture reduction and fixation was performed under arthroscopic surveillance. The tibia plateau fracture was fixed with the cancellous bone screws(Schatzker Ⅰ~Ⅲ) or minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis(Schatzker Ⅳ~Ⅵ).Results The operation time was 30~72 min(mean,40 min) and the intraoperative blood loss was less than 20 ml.A follow-up was carried out in 36 cases for 4~36 months(mean,15 months). The X-ray findings at the 3 postoperative month showed bone union in all the 36 cases. There were no wound or joint infection, skin necrosis,or delayed union. The Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS) knee scores 3 months after operation revealed excellent results in 28 cases, good in 6 cases, and fair in 2.The main untoward manifestations at this period were lacking of muscle force and limited extension and incurvation of the knee joint. The HSS scores 6 months after operation showed excellent result in 33 cases and good in 3 cases. Conclusions Arthroscopically assisted treatment of tibial plateau fractures has advantages of accurate reduction and fixation and early detection and management of associated intraarticular injuries.Different methods of internal fixation should be chosen according to different types of facture.

Flexure Syndrome is a chronic disorder that seems to be caused by trapped gas at bends(flexures) in the colon.Symptoms include bloating, muscle spasms, and upper abdominal discomfort and its pathogenesis is an open question.Chinese medicine theory discriminates it as hypochondriac pain or stomachache due to dysfunction on qi,and processes valid treatment on the basis of an overall analysis on personal organs and meridian.

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the manifestations and characteristics of adverse drug reactions (ADR) induced by Traditional Chinese medicine.METHODS:85 ADR reports collected from the spontaneous reporting system in our hospital from 2005 to 2008 were analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS:ADR almost involved all the body system and 31.63% were nervous system.Main dosage form inducing ADR was injection (51.76%).CONCLUSION:ADR induced by Traditional Chinese Medicine can not be disregarded.Clinical pharmacists should pay more attention to the drug therapy by intravenous administration to reduce the incidence of ADR.

Objective:To study the effects and mechanisms of acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid ( AKBA) in myocardial ischemic model induced by isoproterenol hydrochloride ( ISO) in rats. Methods:The SD rats were randomly divided into the sham group, model group, AKBA low dose group and AKBA high dose group. Myocardial injury model was induced by subcutaneous injection of ISO (100 mg·kg-1 ) . The change of ST segment in ECG was observed. Creatine kinase ( CK-MB) , cardiac troponin I ( cTnI) , lactate dehydro-genase( LDH) , malondialdehyde( MDA) and superoxide dismutase( SOD) in the blood were detected by ELISA. The change of histo-logical tissue was determined by HE staining, and cell apoptosis was analyzed by TUNEL assay. Results: Serum CK-MB, cTnI and LDH were decreased significantly in AKBA high dose group when compared with those in the model group. Compared with that in the model group, MDA content was lowered and the SOD activity was increased in AKBA high dose group. Furthermore, AKBA high dose group improved the pathologic changes of myocardium. TUNEL assay revealed significant reduction of cardiomyocytes apoptosis in the hearts of the ischemic rats in AKBA high dose group. Conclusion:AKBA has excellent cardioprotective effect on myocardial ischemic induced by ISO and protection of myocardial cells from injury.

Objective To study dynamically the correlation between endotheliocyte functions,inflammation-related factors and TCM syndromes in sepsis patients. Methods According to the TCM syndrome differentiation,68 septic patients were divided into Qi-fen group (23 cases),Ying-fen group (28 cases),and Xue-fen group (17 cases). The control group (26 cases) was built up for contrast.Serum von willebrand factor (vWf),nitric oxide (NO),tumor necrosis factor-? (TNF-?),interleukin 6 (IL-6),interleukin 2(IL-2),interleukin 4 (IL-4),and white blood cell (WBC) count of all groups were measured. Results TNF-?,IL-6,and WBC in all the sepsis groups were significantly higher than those in the control group (P

Objective To investigate the changes of T cell subsets VCS caused by different syndrome types in patients with Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB). Methods A total of 116 samples were enrolled in the study, which were divided into 3 groups:43 CHB patients of liver depressions and spleen deficiency type, 38 of damp-heat type and 35 of blood stasis type. 48 healthy people were also included as normal control. ALT, WBC, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+, MLV, MLV-SD, MLC, MLC-SD, MLS and MLS-SD of the 4 groups were tested and analyzed. Results ALT, CD8+, MLV, MLV-SD, MLC-SD and MLS-SD of CHB patients of liver depression and spleen deficiency type, damp-heat type and blood stasis type were significantly increased compared with normal group (P<0.05), however, WBC, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+, MLC and MLS were decreased apparently (P<0.05). CD8+, MLV-SD, MLC-SD, MLS and MLS-SD were significantly different between damp-heat type and liver depressions and spleen deficiency type (P<0.05). ALT, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+, MLV, MLV-SD, MLC-SD and MLS were distinct between damp-heat type and blood stasis type (P<0.05). Conclusion T cell subsets and VCS parameters were varied in different CHB syndrome types, suggesting that correlations exited a-mong T cell subsets, VCS parameters and syndrome type of CHB, which may provide useful information for Chinese medicine dialectical sub-typing of CHB.
