Objective:To determine the effects of Valsartan on cardiomyocyte apoptosis and apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1)-dependent signal pathway in cardiac pressure-overload hypertrophy.Methods:The hypertensive model was established by abdominal aortic constriction.24 wistar rats were randomized into three groups,banding group,banding and Valsartan admin- istration group,sham-operated group.Six weeks later,cardiomyocyte apoptosis was measured by TUNEL,ASKI protein expres- sion was measured by western blot and immunohistochemistry.Results:The left ventricular mass index,apoptosis index and ASKI protein content all significantly decreased in Valsartan group,as compared with banding group(P

The basal metabolism of 126 healthy adolescent girls aged from 12-17 living in Guangzhou are carefully measured over Summer-Autumn and Winter seasons. Of these 126 subjects 32 were determined the BM during the menstrual cycles. The open indirect calorimetry method was employed. All expired gas were collected in Douglas bags. Gas samples were carried out by Beckmen OM-11 oxygen analyser and LB-2 carbon dioxide analyser. The BMR results are:(1) The BMR of adolescent girls are gradually decreased as the index of secondary sexual appearance appeared. (2) When the energy expenditure expressed as kcal.kg-1.h~1, the difference of BMR is significantly at pre or post menarche. The BMR of pre-menarche is 8.3% higher than those of postmenarche. (3) BMR is influenced by menstrual cycles, shows a slight premenstrual rise and a 7.2% menstrual depression.( 4 ) The BMR of adolescent girls aged 12-17 in Guangzhou appeared a gradually decrease tendency with the growing process. The mean BMR values for aged from 12 to 17 were 164.64, 157.49, 152.13, 147.95,143.64,137.53 kJ.m-2.h-1 respectively The differences of BMR between aged 12 and 13 groups and the other age groups are statistical significant. This results are a littel (4.7-9.5%) lower than the figures of Fleish as compared with western count- rtes.( 5 ) There are seasonal changes of BMR for adolescent girls in Guangzhou. The BMR is 3.5% higher in Winter than in Summer-Autumn. (6) The BMR of adolescent girls are influenced by combined factors of surface area, body fat and pulse. The results are discussed.

The Wnt signaling pathway,including the canonical and the non-canonical,is a conservative pathway which participates in organ development and tissue metabolism.The canonical Wnt pathway plays an important role in osteogenesis,bone formation and mineralization through the osteogenesis associated transcription factors.The canonical Wnt pathway also regulates osteogenic differentiation of the stem cells in the periodontal tissue and the regulative effect is influenced by the microenvironment.Understanding of the canonical Wnt pathway will contribute to the treatment of some related bone diseases.

The necessity and performing method of research-intensive teaching in microbiology experiments are explored in the aspects of teaching design, process and effect. It is concluded that research-intensive experiments plays a positive role in developing students’comprehensive quality.

Objective To study the effect of apoptosis signal regulating kinase 1(ASK1) protein expression in hypertrophic myocardium in rat models of hypertension.Methods The rat model of hypertension was established by abdominal aortic constriction.Six weeks later,the reactive oxygen species(ROS) level and ASK1 protein expression in myocardium of left ventricle were detected respectively by color matching and Western blotting.Results The left ventricular mass index,ROS level and ASK1 protein expression all increased significantly in hypertensive rats as compared with those underwent sham operation.Conclusion Under chronic pressure overload,the activated ASK1 with the increasing ROS may play an important role in signal transduction pathway of myocardial hypertrophy.

Objective To explore the psychological intervention on the anxiety of patients under gastroscope examination. Methods According to the self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), 100 patients with anxiety disorder were randomly divided into observation group 50 cases, a control group of 50 cases, check the two groups of patients before, during and after adopt routine health education, observation group given psychological intervention at the same time, compared the two groups of patients with anxiety, check the time and satisfaction. Results After the psychological intervention, the scores of self-rating anxiety scale of observation group were significantly lower than those of control group, there were signiifcant differences (P<0.05), check time was shortened obviously, the difference was statistically signiifcant (P<0.05), satisfaction was also signiifcantly better than the control group the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Psychological intervention can reduce the anxiety level of patients with gastroscope, shorten the examination time of gastroscope, increase the ability of patients to understand the disease, improve patient satisfaction.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of Holter monitor(DCG) in the diagnosis and treatment of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).Methods According to NT-proBNP ＞ 2 000pg/mL,left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤40％,New York Heart Association (NYHA) rated Ⅲ-Ⅳ,67 patients with DCM were divided into the high risk group and nonhigh risk group.All kinds of arrhythmia patients proportion was compared between the two groups,in order to understand the risk factors of DCM and arrhythmias.Results In high risk group,18 cases had ventricular tachycardia,the incidence rate was 66.7％,which was significantly higher than that of non high risk group (2 cases,5.0％) (x2 =29.271,P ＜ 0.01).While other arrhythmia,atrial premature beats,single premature ventricular contraction,atrial fibrillation and so on,had no statistical difference (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The DCM patients with various types of arrhythmia,ventricular tachycardia in patients directly influence the severity and prognosis,Holter monitor has an irreplaceable role.

Objective To study the effect of letrozole (LE) on ovulation in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).Methods One hundred and sixty-four patients with PCOS were divided into LE treatment group (n=68) and chloramiphene (CC) treatment group (n=96).Growth rate of follicles,serum hormone level,endometrial thickness,and cervix mucus were observed before and after treatment.Results The growth rate of follicles was 1.67 and 1.78 mm/d,respectively,in LE and CC treatment groups (P=0.14).The serum T level on the day of LH peak was 2.1?1.9 and 2.0?1.7ng/dL,respectively,in LE and CC treatment groups (P=0.93).The serum testosterone (T) level on day of LH peak and on day 3 of menses was 2.1?1.9 and 1.4?1.5 ng/d,respectively,in LE and CC treatment groups (P=0.09).The serum E2 level on day of LH peak was 89.0?59.5 and 108.1?46.0 pg/ml,respectively,in LE and CC treatment groups (P=0.13).The endometrial thickness was 11.3?1.6 and 9.7?1.4 mm,respectively,in LE and CC treatment groups (P=0.07).The score of cervix mucus was 11.0?1.1 and 8.3?3.1,respectively,in LE and CC treatment groups (P=0.003).Conclusion Letrozole can effectively induce ovulation in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome,and does not increase serum T level.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy in aromatase inhibitors and tamoxifen on Luminal postmenopausal breast neoplasms.Methods PubMED,Science Direct,EBSCO Host,EMbase,The Cochrane Library,CNKI,CECDB and CQVIP were retrieved,the evaluation methodology included.The quality of the included studies and extracted data should be researched rigorously.Review Manager 5.0 software was used to evaluate the quality standards of randomized clinical trial (RCT).Results Twelve RCT were selected,included 2634 patients,1354 cases of treatment group (use aromatase inhibitors),1280cases of control group (use tamoxifen).The results of the evaluation of the system:compared to control group,treatment group significantly improved disease-free survival in 1 year (RR =1.10,95％ CI 1.01-1.19),disease-free survival in 3 years (RR =1.09,95％ CI 1.05-1.13),the overall efficiency in 1 year (RR =1.21,95％ CI 1.12-1.30),furthermore treatment group significantly reduced the incidence of cardiovascular diseases in 3 years (RR =0.47,95％ CI 0.27-0.83),but there was no significant difference in the incidence of bone and joint disease in 3 years between the 2 groups (RR =0.99,95％ CI 0.61-1.61).Conclusion Compared to tamoxifen,the efficacy of aromatase inhibitors is excellent in treatment of Luminal postmenopausal breast neoplasms,it is worth promoting.
