Arachidonic acid is an essential fatty acid in human nutrition and a biogenetic precursor of the biologically active prostaglandins and leukotrienes. ?~5 desaturase catalyzes the ?~5 dehydrogenation of di-homo-?-linolenic acid to form arachidonic acid in biosynthetic pathway of arachidonic acid. Using real time PCR technology,the transcriptional expression levels of gene encoding ?5 desaturase in three Mortierella alpina strains M10,M6 and M23,and in different growth phase of high arachidonic acid yielding strain M6,were determined. Results showed that there was a distinct corelationship between mRNA transcript level of ?~5 desaturase gene and biosynthesis of arachidonic acid. Results indicated that ?~5 desaturase plays an important role in arachidonic acid biosynthesis.

OBJECTIVEThis study was to test the feasibility of permanent maxillary tooth removal using articaine without a second palatal injection.

METHODSOf 104 patients, 38 patients had bilateral extraction and 66 patients had unilateral extraction of maxillary tooth. In the test group, 1.7 mL articaine with 1:100000 epinephrine was injected into the buccal vestibule of the tooth and the tooth were extracted after 5 minutes. In the control group, the patients were subjected to both palatal injection with 2% lidocaine hydrochloride and buccal injection with articaine. All patients completed visual analog scales (VAS) after extraction.

RESULTSThe achievement ratio of permanent maxillary tooth anesthesia of test group was 96.2%. The achievement ratio of permanent maxillary tooth anesthesia of control group was 97.1%. There was no statistical significance between achievement ratio of test group and control group(P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONPermanent maxillary tooth removal without palatal injection is possible by articaine injection to the buccal vestibule of the tooth.

Objective To investigate the effects of antihypertension and reversing left ventricular hypertro- phy by carvedilol or bisoprolol in patients with mild to moderate essential hypertension.Methods 40 cases of mild to moderate essential hypertension patients were selected for this random single-blind,paralleling controlled clinical study.Results Patients were randomized to take 12.5～25mg carvedilol tablet orlce daily or bisoprolol 2.5～5mg once daily if DBP was still in the range of 12.0～14.6kPa(90～110mmHg)after 2 weeks' placebo baseline. Carvedilol group included 20 cases,bisoprolol group included 20 cases,and the course was 24 weeks.Blood pressure and heart rate were measured and symptoms and signs were recorded.At the end of placebo and in 24 weeks heart ultrasound,blood routine,serum glucose,blood lipid,hepatic function and renal function were examined.SBP,DBP and heart rate of patients in two groups decreased obviously.There were significant differences between the two groups.Ventricular hypertrophy of carvedilol group improved than that in pretherapy.There were significant differ- ences between the two groups.Conclusion Carvedilol was well-tolerated with less side effects such as mild headache,tiredness,dizziness,slightly elevating of serum glucose.Carvedilol could well treat the mild moderate essen- tial hypertension effectively and safely by 12.5～25mg once daily.

OBJECTIVETo seek effective drugs for anti-hepatitis C virus by screening 20 Chinese herbs often used for clearing heat and dissipating toxin with nude mice model of hepatitis C viral (HCV) infection.

METHODSAfter the model mice had been treated with selected drug for 3 months, transmission electron microscope was used to observe whether the HCV-like particles in human fetal hepatocytes (HFH) transplanted into mice spleen still existed, and quantitative RT-PRC technique was used to detect the serum content of HCV-RNA before and after treatment.

RESULTS(1)HCV-like particles existed in all the model mice after treatment. (2) Serum content of HCV-RNA decreased after treated with Radix Gentianae, Radix Scutellariae, Radix Sophorae tonkinensis, Fructus Gardeniae and Fructus Sophorae flavoscentis, but unchanged after treatment with other drugs.

CONCLUSIONAll the 20 herbs screened has not effect in directly eradicating HCV, but Radix Gentianae, Radix Scutellariae, Radix Sophorae tonkinensis, Fructus Gardeniae and Fructus Sophorae flavoscentis could significantly inhibit the replication of HCV-RNA.

Objective: To dynamically analyze the discipline status, influence factors and key issues of Chinese Journal of Hepatology from 2010 to 2016 and explore the development rules of citation indexes. Methods: We collected information published by the China Institute of Scientific and Technological Information [China Science and Technology Journal Citation Report (Core Edition)] and Wanfang Database Periodicals statistical analysis platform from 2010 to 2016. A bibliometric analyses on article volume, citation frequency, citation rate, h-index, ratio of fund-aided papers, periodical influence, key number published period, number of relevant articles, and so on were analyzed for annual’s impact factor. Results: According to the data released by the China Institute of Science and Technology Information, from 2010 to 2011, the impact factor of Chinese Journal of Hepatology was at leading level in the field of internal medicine and ranked sixth in the Journal of Internal Medicine. From 2012 to 2016, the overall comprehensive assessment score and citation frequency score of Chinese Journal of Hepatology were ranked first in the Journal of Gastroenterology. Core impact factors kept the discipline ahead. Indexes such as immediacy index, h- index, cited half-life and all other indicators were increased. Citation rate was >90% and cited issue number had greatly increased. Conclusion Chinese Journal of Hepatology has a leading position in the Journal of Gastroenterology and credited by inland readers and authors of digestive and infectious fields. It has played a positive role in promoting the development of the discipline.

Object To study comparatively the fingerprint of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. in different producing area and investigate the effect of pyrolysis temperature and pyrolysis time on the fingerprint Methods Pyrolysis gas chromatography (PGC) and fuzzy cluster analysis were used Results Both similarity and charecteristics were found in the fingerprint of P. cablin in different producing area. The methodological evalulation showed that this method had a good reproducibility, RSD≤2.75% Conclusion This method is simple, rapid and accurate. It is suitable for the quality control of the Chinese materia medica with the important role of pyrolysis temperature and pyrolysis time

Objective To study the effects of hormone,anesthetie and contrast medium on the activities of collagenase lysis.Methods Nuclear tissues were divided into equal amount for different groups and same units of collagenase were used for the lysis.The only difference in the control group from experimental groups was that there were no dexamethasone,lidocaine or omnipaque but existing in experimental groups.Twenty four hours later,the concentrations of the hydroxyproline were determined in different groups and the data were analyzed by statistical software with computer.Results 1.The concentrations of hydroxyproline in the dexamcthasone group,lidocaine group and omnipaque group were significantly lower than that of control group,especially that of lidocaine group,P value was＜0.05 or 0.01.2. The concentrations of hydroxyproline in the dexamethasone+lidocaine group,dexamethasone+omnipaque group,lidocaine+omnipaque group and dexamethasone+lidocaine+omnipaque group were significantly lower than that of control group;and simultaneously lower in dexamethasone group,lidocaine group,omnipaque group respectively;P value was also＜0.05 or 0.01.Conclusion Dexamethasone,lidocaine and omnipaque can individually inhibit the activity of collagenase at different degrees,so they shouldn't be used together with collagenase in treating the lumber disc herniation.
