Objective To investigate the modified fixation method in clinical use of intravenous indwelling needle.Methods 100 cases of patients with venous indwelling needle in our hospital emergency center were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group with 50 cases in each.The control group used conventional method of fixation,while the observation group was given modified method of fixation.The fixation effect of the 2 groups was compared.Results In the observation group,48 cases was with normal extubation,2 cases with abnomal extubation; while in the control group,35 cases was with normal extubation,15 cases with abnormal extubation.The comparison between the two groups showed statistically significant difference.Conclusions In the process of clinical use of intravenous indwelling needle,the modified fixation method is superior to conventional fixation method,which is worthy of clinical use.

Abstract: Objective To explore the correlation between lung function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β) levels in exhaled breath condensate (EBC), and to provide a convenient methodological basis for the diagnosis and treatment of COPD and the determination of its efficacy. Methods A total of 81 COPD patients and 40 healthy controls were selected from the respiratory department of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from August 2020 to February 2022 as the research subjects. The COPD patients were divided into 41 cases in the acute exacerbation group and 40 cases in the remission group according to their status. All participants underwent lung function detection, venous blood and EBC collection, and the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in EBC and venous blood were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and correlation analysis was performed by Pearson correlation analysis method. Results The levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in EBC of in the acute exacerbation group, the healthy control group, the remission group were (5.16±0.18) pg/μL and (7.75±0.27) pg/μL, (2.66±0.31) pg/μL and (2.41±0.24） pg/μL, (3.61±0.29) pg/μL and (3.17±0.38) pg/μL, respectively. Compared with the healthy control group, the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in EBC in the COPD acute exacerbation group were significantly higher than those in the healthy control group and the COPD remission group (F=9.451, 8.217, P<0.001). Serum tests were consistent with this result. Correlation analysis showed that the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in EBC were significantly positively correlated with the level of serum inflammation levels (P<0.001), while significantly negatively correlated with lung function (P<0.001).  Conclusions TNF-α and IL-1β in EBC are potential biomarkers of inflammation in patients with COPD, and their detection can be used to effectively assess lung function in patients with COPD. 

OBJECTIVE: To study the influence of different positions in the isokinetic muscle test of knees by CON-TREX Biomechanical Test and Training System, so as to select the suitable conditions for forensic identification of muscle strength test. METHODS: Fifty-two healthy volunteers joined the isokinetic muscle strength test in unfixed and fixed position, respectively and in two kinds of angular speed (60 degrees/s and 30 degrees/s). The differences of peak torque (PT) and peak torque angle (PTA) between bilateral knee flexor and extensor were statistically analyzed. RESULTS: In the unfixed position, under the two speed, there was statistically significant difference in PT between bilateral knee flexor and extensor (P < 0.05); while in the fixed position, under the two speed, there was no statistically significant difference (P > 0.05). In any kind of conditions, the PTA of bilateral knee flexor and extensor did not have statistically significant difference (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION The position of the subject influences the results of PT. So the position of subject in knees isokinetic muscle test should be regulated.

ObjectiveTo study the changes of serum immune state in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients with high-flux hemodialysis. MethodsSixty MHD patients were divided into high-flux hemodialysis group (group T, 30 cases, receiving high-flux hemodialysis, 3 times per week and routine drug therapy) and conventional dialysis group (group C, 30 cases, taking conventional dialysis, 3 times per week and routine drug therapy) by random number table. They were treated for 12 weeks. Serum IgG,IgA, IgM,C3, C4, T lymphocyte subsets and albumin, prealbumin, hemoglobin were detected at the experiment onset and 12 weeks later, and compared with those of 20 normal medical examination adults (group N ), meanwhile the ratio of infection was calculated. ResultsThe levels of IgG,IgA,IgM,C3,C4,CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD/8+ in group C had no significant changes before and after treatment (P ＞ 0.05 ), but there were significant changes in group T[(12.20 ± 3.98) g/L vs.(6.18± 1.45) g/L, (1.89 ±0.58) g/L vs. (0.63 ±0.15) g/L, (1.29 ± 0.47)g/L vs. (0.51 ± 0.13) g/L, (0.94 ± 0.36) g/L vs.(0.58 ± 0.20) g/L, (0.28 ± 0.06) g/L vs. (0.11 ± 0.04) g/L,(63.11 ± 9.43 )％ vs. (53.26 ± 9.08 )％, ( 38.21 ± 6.15 )％ vs. ( 31.56± 6.02 )％, 1.48 ± 0.37 vs. 1.25 ± 0.43](P＜ 0.05), and there were significant differences between group T and group C after treatment (P＜ 0.05).The ratio of infection in group T was decreased obviously [46.7％ (14/30) vs. 133.3％ (40/30), P ＜ 0.05], but there was no significant difference in group C [126.7％(38/30) vs. 136.7％(41/30),P＞ 0.05]. Conclusion High-flux hemodialysis can improve the immune state and the nuuitional state in MHD patients, and it could decrease the infection rate.

To investigate the anticancer effects of ring C in 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), a series of GA derivatives featured with 9(11)-ene moiety in ring C were designed and synthesized. The structures were confirmed by IR, LC-MS and 1H NMR. Their inhibitory effects towards human prostate cancer PC-3 and leukemia HL-60 cell lines were determined. Most of the derivatives displayed stronger antiproliferative activities than GA. Particularly, compound 14 showed promising anticancer activity with the GI50 values of 4.48 µmol · L(-1) and 1.2 µmol · L(-1) against PC-3 and HL-60 cells respectively, which is worth further study.

Objective To assess the potential of whole blood IFN-γassay for diagnosing mycobacterium in rhesus macaques.Methods Firstly, basic serum IFN-γconcentrations of TST-negative and -positive rhesus macaques were detected.Then, heparinized whole blood from TST-negative and-positive rhesus macaques was incubated with PBS and 200 IU bovine-PPD ( tuberculin purified protein derivative ) for about 24 h, respectively.The supernatant plasma were harvested and used to determine the concentrations of IFN-γ.The results of plasma IFN-γconcentrations and stimulation index ( SI) were used to analyze the diagnostic potential of the whole blood IFN-γassay.Results The basic serum concentrations of IFN-γfor the TST-positive monkeys were significantly higher than that of the TST-negative macaques, showing a high coefficient of variation.There was no significant effect on the production of IFN-γin the TST-negative macaques.While significantly elevation of IFN-γconcentrations was found in stimulated plasma of TST-positive macaques (P<0.01).The SI of TST-positive macaques was significantly higher than the TST-negative ones.ROC curve analysis revealed that IFN-γconcentrations and SI could be used as evaluation index of whole blood IFN-γassay.Conclusions Based on a small sample experiment we have demonstrated that whole blood IFN-γassay may be one possible auxiliary diagnostic method for tuberculin skin test.
