Purpose To detect the expression of insulin-like growth factor-ⅡmRNA-binding protein 3 (IMP3) in preeclampsia (PE) placentas. Methods The levels of IMP3 expression were measured using immunohistochemistry in 8 cases of mild PE, 41 cases of se-vere PE, 6 cases of fetal growth restrict ( FGR) without PE and 22 cases of normal late trimester of pregnancy placentas. Results Compared with normal late trimester of pregnancy, the expression of IMP3 was obviously decreased in severe PE placenta ( Z =-2. 063,P<0. 05), decreased in mild PE (Z= -1. 31,P>0. 05). The expression of IMP3 in severe PE placenta was lower than that of mild PE placenta but not statistically significant (Z= -0. 233,P>0. 05). The expression of IMP3 in early onset PE placenta was lower than that of late onset PE placenta but not statistically significant(Z= -0. 108,P>0. 05). Compared with normal late tri-mester of pregnancy, the expression of IMP3 was significantly decreased in PE with FGR placenta (Z= -2. 375,P <0. 05), de-creased in FGR without PE and PE without FGR (Z= -1. 225,P>0. 05, Z= -1. 36,P>0. 05). Conclusion The results indicate that IMP3 protein expression is low in sever PE, which may be one of the pathogenesis of PE. IMP3 may be used as a marker to predict PE with FGR, and to provide a basis for the development of a novel therapeutic target in PE.

Clinical Medicine of China 2008;24(12):1217-1219
Objective To investigate the changes of blood coagulation indices during the percutaneous cor-onary intervention(PCI), so as to provide evidence for anticoagulation therapy. Methods 34 acute coronary syn-drome patients were enrolled, whose blood sample was taken at baseline,1 h,4 h,24 h,and 48 h after PCI operation. Thrombin-antithrombin complex(TAT), vWF, protein C, antithrombin, fibrinogen, D-dimer were tested. The result was processed by statistical software. Results After PCI, TAT continued to rise, protein C and antithrombin drop down, the vWF and D-dimer rose with TAT,and fibrinogen transiently drop down. Conclusion The thrombin pro-duces more quickly after PCI,its time phrase is coordinated with vWF and D-dimer,at the same time the anticoagula-tion system drops down. High anticoagulation at least maintains within 48 h and then tends to be normal.

Objective To investigate the process of apoptosis in lungs and liver induced by crushing hindlimbs of rat, and study the mechanismof crush injury. Methods The rat experimental model of hindlimbs crush injury was established. The cell apoptosis in lungs and liver was detected by TUNEL assay, and the expression of Bax, Bcl-2 and caspase-3 apoptin was examined by immunohistochemistry. Results C ompared with the control group, the partial muscle injury of rat’s hindlimbs was more serious with more apoptosis observed in lungs and liver (P<0.05). The expression of Bax was up-regulated and Bcl-2 was down-regulated, whereas caspase-3 expression was activated (P<0.05). Conclusion The cell apoptosis has increased significantly in lungs and liver after crush injury of hindlimbs in rat. The corre-lation factor released during tissue injury may mediate apoptosis process.

Objective To analysis the diagnostic values and characteristics of ultrasound and ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) before operation. Methods The data of ultrasound and ultrasound guided FNAC in 129 patients (including 148 PTC nodules) with PTC were collected from January 2014 to February 2017, and the diagnostic reports and feature descriptions of ultrasound and ultrasound guided FNAC were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among the 148 PTC nodules, the ultrasonographic imaging showed that 84.5% (125/148) with low echo-level solid nodules, 61.5% (91/148) with echo heterogenicity, 77.7% (115/148) with a ratio ≥ 1 in longitudinal/breadth, 69.6 % (103/148) with fuzzy boundary, 75.0% (111/148) with microcalcification in nodules, 97.3% (144/148) without or with incomplete aureole, 64.9% (96/148) with rich blood flow and 7.0% (9/129) with enlargement of cervical lymph nodes. The FNAC diagnosis showed that 78.4% (116/148) was diagnosed with suspected papillary carcinoma, 1.4% (2/148) was diagnosed with malignent tumor, 11.5% (17/148) was diagnosed with atypia of undetermined significance (AUS), 1.4% (2/148) was diagnosed with benign lesion, 0.7% (1/148) was diagnosed with follicular neoplasm and 6.7% (10/148) could not be diagnosed. If the suspected papillary carcinoma and malignent tumor were defined as cytodiagnosis, the diagnostic accordance rate with intraoperative pathology was 79.7%. Conclusion The preoperative accuracy rates of ultrasound diagnosis and ultrasound guided FNAC diagnosis for patients with PTC are high, and the characteristics of the both are also typical. The two examinations before operation are helpful for early diagnosis and treatment formulation for patients with PTC.

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effects on m yeloperoxidase (MP O) oxidation activity by affinity-purified anti-MPO antibodies from patients w it h microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) and to further investigate the interaction betw een MPO, ceruloplasmin and anti-MPO antibodies. Methods: Human IgG fractions wer e purified from plasma of 11 patients with anti-MPO antibody positive MPA and s e ra of 12 normal controls. Anti-MPO antibodies were further purified from anti- MP O antibody containing IgG fractions using MPO affinity chromatography. The enzym e activity of MPO was measured, in the presence of anti-MPO antibodies and norm a l IgG preparations, using a classical MPO oxidation assay. Interaction between c eruloplasmin, MPO and anti-MPO antibodies was further investigated using ELISA. Results: Anti-MPO antibodies from 7/11 patients with MPA could inhibit the MPO a ctivity as non-competitive inhibitors in a dose-dependent manner. Ceruloplasmi n could competitively inhibit the oxidation activity of MPO in a dose-dependent an d time-dependent manner. Anti-MPO antibodies could inhibit the binding between M PO and ceruloplasmin to a maximum of (75.4?11.6)%. Conclusion: Anti-MPO antibod ies, from the majority of patients with MPA, could inhibit the oxidation activity of MPO and interfere with the binding between MPO and ceruloplasmin.
