Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and prognosis factors of child hemophagocytic syndrome(HPS)in different age groups. Methods Eighty-five children cases of HPS were divided into 3 age groups,0-2 years old (group A),>2-8 years old (group B) and >8-14 years old (group C).The etiology, pathology, clinical symptoms, laboratory detection and prognosis were retrospectively analyzed. Results In the etiology, the etiology in the group A,B and C was dominated by EB virus infection, the infection positive rate in the group C was significantly higher than that in the group B and C;in the bone marrow examination:the occurrence rate of granulocytes to erythrocytes ratio <1.0 in the group A was higher than that in the group C;in the clinical symptoms, cervical lymph node enlargement mostly occurred in the group B,hepatosplenomegaly was most rare in the group C,and the serous cavity effusion commonly occurred in the group B;in the laboratory detection, the LDH level in the group B was higher than that in the group A,the above differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in other clinical symptoms and laboratory detection results among the three groups (P>0.05);In the comparison between the survival group and death group, the serous cavity effusion,triglyceride(TG),CD4/CD8 ratio and granulocytes to erythrocytes ratio in bone marrow had statistical difference(P<0.05).The above factors were performed the Logistic analysis, the results showed that TG>3.5 mmol/L,CD4/CD8 ratio <1.24 and bone marrow granulocytes to erythrocytes ratio <1.02 were the unfavorable risk factors affecting the prognosis of child HPS (P<0.05).Conclusion Partial clinical characteristics of child HPS are related with the onset age,TG level,CD4/CD8 ratio and bone marrow granulocytes to erythrocytes ratio are the risk factors affecting prognosis.

Objective To investigate the value of whole-liver MR perfusion imaging(MRPI)for early detection of coagulative necrosis after percutaneous ethanol injection(PEI)in rabbit liver VX_2 tumors. Methods VX_2 tumor cell suspension was inoculated into rabbit liver and liver VX_2 tumors[diameter of (2.6?0.6)cm]were induced in 10 male rabbits.MR T_1 WI and T_2 WI were performed to monitor the development of the liver tumor on the 2~(nd)and 3~(rd)week after inoculation.Whole-liver MRPI was performed in the 10 rabbits with liver VX_2 tumors before and 6 days after PEI therapy(1.0 ml ethanol was injected into the most enhanced tumor region under CT guiding).Signal intensity(SI)values of untreated tumor parts and treated areas 6 days after PEI were recorded respectively. The steepest slope(SS)and bolus arrival time (TO)of SI-time curves were measured. The t-Student test was used in statistical analysis of the data. Results There was significant difference in MRPI data between untreated tumor parts[TO:(16.0?1.2)s and SS: 38.9?2.2]and treated areas[TO:(50.8?5.9)s and SS:6.0?1.2]6 days after PEI(t was 15.8 and -39.6 respectively,P

Silent information regulator protein 1 (SlRT1) is one of the sirtuins and belongs to histone deacetyase. lts activity depends on nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide ( NAD+) and is regulated by NAD+. Experimental and clinical studies have shown the neuro-protective effect of SlRT1 in the pathogenesis of age-related eye diseases. ln this review, the relationship between SlRT1 activator and apoptosis in the retinal cells were discussed. The review also points to SlRT1 as a potential therapeutic target for the clinical management of age-related retinal disease.

OBJECTIVETo study the chemical constituents from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens.
METHODColumn chromatography on sephadex LH-20 as well as preparative HPLC and spectral analysis were used to isolate and elucidate the constituents.
RESULTSix compounds were isolated from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens, and identified as vanillin (I), syringic aldehyde (II), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (III), vanillic acid (IV), syringic acid (V), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamic acid, ethyl ester (VI).
CONCLUSIONAll above the compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effects of nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide 66 (n-HA/PA66) cage on recovering and maintaining lumbar curvature, lumbar heights and fusion rate when used in the transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion.
METHODSFrom February to July 2012, 50 patients with degenerative lumbar disease(lumbar disc herniation in 32 cases and lumbar spondylolisthesis in 18 cases) were treated with transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion using the n-HA/PA66 cage, and their preoperative and postoperative clinical outcomes were analyzed. The patients were followed up for 2, 4, 6 and 8 months after operation, during which the CR and CT film of lumbar vertebra were checked to get relative height of vertebral space, Taillard index, index of lumbar spinal curvature, angle of segmental and full lumbar lordosis. The data were analyzed respectively with pair t-test, analysis of variance or LSD-t-test.
RESULTSAll the patients were followed up, and the duraion ranged from 8 to 13 months, with a mean of 11.32 months. There were significant differences in relative height of vertebral space, Taillard index, index of lumbar spinal curvature, angle of segmental and full lumbar lordosis after surgery, but there were no significant differences in different periods after operation. The fusion time of lumbar ranged from 4 to 8 months.
CONCLUSIONThe n-HA/PA66 cage can recover and maintain lumbar normal stability with higher rate of fusion and less complications.
