Objective To evaluate the efficacy of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) in the treatment of transplanted renal artery stenosis (TRAS)-induced renal dysfunction and hypertension. Methods Between July 1998 and January 2007, PTA was performed on 16 patients with RTAS. Color Doppler uhrasonography preceded the intra-arterial angiographic investigation, with false-negative results in 18. 75 % of patients. Sixteen cases of TRAS were examined at 1 st week,6th month and 13 years after PTA. Hypertension improvement was defined as mean arterial pressure decrease of at least 15 % from the pre-PTA value. Graft function was evaluated by SCr levels, and the improvement was defined as a 20% change. Results Angioplasty was technically feasible in 100 %.Sixteen patients with RTAS were cured clinically. During the follow-up period, graft function was improved in 81.25 %, 68. 75 %, 62. 5 %, 56. 25 %, 50 % of patients respectively at 1st week, 6th month and 1-3 years after PTA. The blood pressure was decreased in 62. 5%, 75 %, 75 %,56. 25 %, 50 % of patients respectively, but no patient remained hypotensor medication free. Conclusion PTA improved renal dysfunction and hypertension induced by TRAS, and it is a safe and effective treatment for TRAS.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2014;30(3):181-183
OBJECTIVE:
To study the influence of different positions in the isokinetic muscle test of knees by CON-TREX Biomechanical Test and Training System, so as to select the suitable conditions for forensic identification of muscle strength test.
METHODS:
Fifty-two healthy volunteers joined the isokinetic muscle strength test in unfixed and fixed position, respectively and in two kinds of angular speed (60 degrees/s and 30 degrees/s). The differences of peak torque (PT) and peak torque angle (PTA) between bilateral knee flexor and extensor were statistically analyzed.
RESULTS:
In the unfixed position, under the two speed, there was statistically significant difference in PT between bilateral knee flexor and extensor (P < 0.05); while in the fixed position, under the two speed, there was no statistically significant difference (P > 0.05). In any kind of conditions, the PTA of bilateral knee flexor and extensor did not have statistically significant difference (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSION
The position of the subject influences the results of PT. So the position of subject in knees isokinetic muscle test should be regulated.

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture on gastrointestinal dysmotility in liver cirrhosis.
METHODSForty cases of gastrointestinal dysmotility in liver cirrhosis were randomized into an acupuncture group and a motilium group, 20 cases in each one. In the acupuncture group, on the basis of the conventional treatment, electroacupuncture was applied at Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and Taichong (LR 3) for 30 min, once a day. In the motilium group, on the basis of the conventional treatment, motilium was taken orally 30 min before meals, 10 mg each time, three times a day. The treatment was required for 2 weeks in both groups. The changes in the digestive tract symptom score and liver function Child-Pugh score were observed and the efficacy was assessed.
RESULTSThe total effective rate of digestive tract symptoms was 85.0% (17/20) in the acupuncture group and 70.0% (14/20) in the motilium group. The score improvements in abdominal distention, belching and vomiting in the acupuncture group were superior to those in the motilium group (all P < 0.05). In the acupuncture group, the liver function Child-Pugh total score was 8.40 +/- 0.22 before treatment and reduced to 5.36 +/- 0.17 after treatment, in which the scores for ascites, serum bilirubin and albumin were all reduced (all P < 0.05) and the reducing range was increased in tendency with the improvements in digestive tract symptoms. In the motilium group, Child-Pugh score was not changed obviously as compared with that before treatment. CONCLUSION Acupuncture effectively alleviates digestive tract symptoms and improves liver function for the patients of liver cirrhosis, its efficacy on gastrointestinal dysmotility in liver cirrhosis is superior to motilium.

Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2005;40(3):215-218
OBJECTIVETo test the salivary immunoglobulin A antibody activity to Streptococcus mutans in normal with in acid environment.
METHODSStreptococcus mutans strains were isolated from 20 volunteers, serotyped by biochemical test and PCR, and genotyped by AP-PCR. Unstimulated secretions from submandibular glands and sublingual glands were collected from volunteers by modified collectors. Each identified Streptococcus mutans genotype was cultured in two groups: control group was cultured in BHI broth pH7.2 at 37 degrees C for 2 h; acid shock group were cultured in TYEG broth (pH5.5) at 37 degrees C for 2 h. Analysis of SIgA activity to Streptococcus mutans genotypes in different groups was detected by Western blot.
RESULTS(1) The SIgA of each individual could response to his own Streptococcus mutans strains and the reference strains; (2) The same individual had different SIgA activity to different genotype strains; (3) There were no significant difference between acid groups and control groups, in spite that some bands had strong or weak intensity.
CONCLUSIONSAlthough Streptococcus mutans could express acid shock proteins in stress, the present study suggests that these new proteins have no qualitative effect on the reaction of SIgA to Streptococcus mutans.
