2.Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome following Corrective Spinal Surgery for Scoliosis
The Singapore Family Physician 2017;43(1):53-57
Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) syndrome is a well-known but rare complication following corrective surgery for scoliosis. It can be easily missed if not thought of in patients presenting with abdominal pain and vomiting post-scoliosis surgery. SMA syndrome is most commonly associated with conditions resulting in significant weight loss but can also occur as a result of biomechanical changes following scoliosis surgery. We present a case of a 13 year-old girl who developed SMA syndrome following scoliosis surgery. A high index of suspicion and early surgical referral are paramount for the successful management of SMA syndrome.
3.Investigation of Rehabilitation in Rural Community Health Service after Earthquake in Sichuan
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2009;15(9):887-888
Objective To study the condition of rehabilitation in Community Health Service (CHS) in rural areas after earthquake. Methods 274 medical personnels of CHS were invistigated with the questionnaire. Results There was no rehabilitation therapist in those medical personnel, and no difference of requirement, referral will and acquaintance of therapy between rehabilitation and acupuncture in CHS (P=0.056,P=0.293,P=0.654). There was a significant difference in acquaintance of rehabilitation among different ages of medical personnel (P<0.01), but there wasn't of acupuncture (P=0.104). Conclusion It still lack rehabilitation therapist in CHS. Techniques and resources were the key points in the development of community-based rehabilitation.
5.Value of morphologic parameters with optical coherence tomography in predicting the surgery outcome for idiopathic macular hole
International Eye Science 2017;17(8):1473-1476
Accompanying with the development of technological level, optical coherence tomography plays a more and more important role in predicting the surgical outcome for idiopathic macular hole.Preoperative morphologic parameters like minimum diameter, base diameter, maximum height, macular hole index, hole form factor, tractional hole index, macular hole closure index, photoreceptor inner-outer segment junction, cone outer segment tips line, central subfield retinal thickness and macular hole inner opening diameter were proved correlated to postoperative visual acuity and anatomical results. It has important application value to know these predictors to judge the surgical outcome and deepen understanding of idiopathic macular hole.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the economic effects of different doses of methylprednisolone treatment regimes on traumatic reaction in patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy after anterior decompressive operation.METHODS:56cervical spondylotic myelopathy cases who have been subjected to anterior decompressive operation were chosen to be the sub-jects.The56cases were divided into3groups and treated with different dosage of methylprednisolone, the initial dose for group A(18cases,low dose group)was80mg;the initial dose for group B(21cases,medium dose group)was600mg and that for group C(17cases,large dose group)was1000mg,the improvement of clinical symptom of each group was observed re-spectively and the cost-effectivenesses of the three groups were compared.RESULTS:The costs of the A,B,C groups were990.00,1339.10and1886.70yuan respectively;the effectiveness rates(E)of the A,B,C groups were5.56%,14.29%and35.29%respectively;The costs for each unit of obvious effectiveness(C/E)of the A,B,C groups were178.06,93.71and53.46yuan respectively; On the basis of group A,the needed costs of group B and C were39.99and30.16yuan respectively for each obvious effectiveness unit increase(?C/?E).CONCLUSION:Compared with group A and B,the effectiveness rates of group C had a bigger increase while the needed cost for each unit of obvious effectiveness was the lowest, therefore, the dose regimen of group C is more rational.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2015;(6):974-977
Objective To estimate the diagnostic value of dual-energy CT in gouty arthritis. Methods English and Chinese litera-tures publicated before May 2014 were searched in PubMed,Embase,Cochrane and Wanfang database.Available literatures were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criterias.Sensitivity, specificity with 95% confidence interval (95% CI)was pooled with bivariate random-effects model.Hierarchical weighted symmetric summary receiver-operating curve (HSROC)was also used in estimating.Meta-regression and sensitivity analysis were used to explore the potential sources of heterogeneity. Results Nine studies were included in the analysis. The pooled sensitivity, specificity and 95% CI were 92%(84-96%)and 88%(83-92%)respectively, area under the HSROC curve was 0.91 (0.88-0.93).There was substantial heterogeneity between studies(I 2 =85%).Conclusion Dual-energy CT is accuracy in diagnosing gouty arthritis. The sources of heterogeneity was not been explored.
