Objective:To investigate the alteration of retinal perfusion in aquaporin-4 antibody (AQP4-ab) positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) patients by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).Methods:A case-control study. Forty-eight AQP4-ab positive NMOSD patients (96 eyes) and 20 age and gender matched healthy controls (40 eyes) were recruited from September 2015 to August 2017 at the Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University. Patients of both eyes were included in the groups. The patients were further divided into 4 subgroups (0 ON, 1 ON, 2 ON, 3+ ON group) according to the number of episodes of ON (0, 1, 2, or 3+) with respect to 30、22、31、13 eyes. 0 ON group had no history of ON episodes; 1 ON group, 2 ON group, and 3+ ON group had ON episodes 1, 2, ≥3 times, respectively. All patients underwent complete ophthalmological examinations including BCVA, visual field and OCTA examination. The BCVA was recorded for each eye using metric notation from the Snellen chart, and then converted to the logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution. The central visual field was assessed using a Humphrey Field Analyzer 750 and the mean deviation (MD) was determined. OCTA scans of the optic disc (4.5 mm × 4.5 mm) and macula (6 mm × 6 mm) were acquired. Radial peripapillary capillary (RPC) vessel density, superficial capillary plexus vessel density (SVD), the thickness of ganglion cell and inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (pRNFL) were determined. The generalized estimating equations was performed to compare the difference of BCVA, MD, pRNFL thickness, GCIPL thickness, RPC vessel density and SVD among the groups and the correlations between retinal perfusion and retinal structure, visual function were analyzed. Results:The RPC vessel density and SVD were significant lower in the 0 ON group compared with healthy group (Wald χ2=7.190, 10.134; P<0.01), however, the BCVA, pRNFL and GCIPL thickness were not significant difference between the two groups (Wald χ2=2.308, 1.020, 2.558; P>0.05). The BCVA, visual field MD, RPC vessel density, SVD, pRNFL and GCIPL were significant lower in 1 ON, 2 ON and 3+ ON groups compared with healthy group and 0 ON group (Wald χ2=12.390, 11.346, 38.860, 18.040, 45.418, 26.608; P<0.001 ), but the parameters had no significant difference among the three groups ( P>0.05). The RPC vessel density was significantly correlated with pRNFL thickness ( β=0.372, standard error=0.018, P<0.001), and the SVD was significantly correlated with GCIPL thickness ( β=0.115, standard error=0.204, P<0.001). The MD and BCVA was significantly correlated with peripapillary vessel density after adjustment for other variables (BCVA: β=0.025, standard error=0.005, P=0.000; visual field MD: β=0.737, standard error=0.185, P=0.000). Conclusions:Subclinical primary retinal vasculopathy may occur in NMOSD prior to ON attack, the ON attack may further impair visual function, retinal structure and perfusion, however, the extent of injure is not relevant with the increase of ON attack. The peripapillary vessel density might be a sensitive predictor of visual outcomes in NMOSD patients.

The role of autophagy is known to be highly complex and context-dependent, and may be characterized as both tumor suppression and tumor promotion in some tumors, such as breast cancer and prostate cancer. This review outlines recent advances in the studies of the involvement of autophagy in the development, progression and treatment of prostate cancer, focusing on autophagy modulation during androgen deprivation, with a special discussion on the regulatory effect of androgens on the autophagy of prostate cancer cells. A critical evaluation and analysis of the studies suggests that autophagy inhibition combined with androgen deprivation therapy is a promising approach to the treatment of prostate cancer.

Aim To Compare the quality of Pinellia Tubers between Nanchong Sichuan and relevant areas in order to standardize plant and to provide evidence for further exploitation and application. Methods Expectorant experiment was conducted with methods of washing mice's respiratory tract with phenol red and antitussive effect, with ammomia caused mice cough. Results In the experiment of expectorant effect, oral administration of the water or the ethanol extracts of pinellia Tubers showed no obvious expectorant effect, it also showed no significant difference compared with control NS. In the antitussive effect experiment, however the water or the ethanol extracts of pinellia Tuhers prolonged the incubation period and reduced the frequency of coughing. It presented significant difference compared with the control NS and clear time-effect relationship. Conclusion Pinellia Tubers from Nanchong Sichuan and relevant areas showed no apparent expectorant effect and have destinct antitussive effect. As for antitussive effects, water extracts were stronger than those of ethanol extracts, and wild Pinellia Tubers outmatched planted ones. Antitussive effect of wild Pinellia Tubers samples was rather stronger from Nanchong, Guangan, Suining, and Liangshan of Sichuan and Xihe Gansu.

To obtain the caries experience and, plaque accumulation severity and pit and fissure morphology in first permanent molars in 7-8 children in Wuhan, as a reasonable prediction of caries risk and preventive attention in the future, a convenient sample of five primary schools in the vicinity of the Wuhan University School and Hospital of Stomatology was drawn. Two calibrated examiners orally examined all present grade 2 children in the classroom, using standard caries plaque and tooth morphology criteria. Dental caries was scored at enamel (D(2)) and dentine (D(3)) for tooth and surface level. Independent variables were age, gender and school. Data analysis used analysis of variance and t-test. The sample comprised 1 043 7- and 8-year-olds. The prevalence of dental caries in permanent dentition was 8.7% and in primary dentition, 68.7%. Mean Decayed, Missing, Filled Teeth/S (DMFT/S) scores were 0.11 and 0.14, respectively. Mean dmft/s scores were 2.8 and 5.0. The d-component constituted 75% of the d(3)mft index, while enamel carious lesions constituted 36% of the total number of carious lesions (d(2,3)-component). Prevalence of medium and deep pits and fissures was 84.6%. Prevalence of medium and severe plaque accumulation was 67.4%. Prevalence of dental caries in the deciduous and permanent dentitions of 7- to 8-year-old children was high. Deep pits and fissures in high caries risk children should be sealed.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the correlation of the deleted azoospermia (DAZ) gene copy related to gr/gr and b2/b3 deletions in the AZFc region with male spermatogenic impairment.
METHODSThis study included 121 infertile men with different de- grees of spermatogenic impairment and 95 healthy donors from the sperm bank. Using PCR, PCR-RFLP, and Y chromosome specific sequence tagged sites (STS) , we analyzed the association of DAZ gene copy deletions related to gr/gr and b2/b3 deletions in the AZFc region with spermatogenic impairment.
RESULTSThere were 15 cases of gr/gr deletion (12. 40% ) and 6 cases of b2/b3 deletion (4.96%) in the infertility group as compared with 13 cases of gr/gr deletion (13.68%) and 1 case of b2/b3 deletion (1.05%) in the control. Analysis of the DAZ-specific single nucleotide variant (SNV) loci revealed 11 gr/gr-DAZI/DAZ2 deletions (9.09%), 4 gr/gr-DAZ3/DAZ4 deletions (3.31%), and 6 b2/b3-DAZ1/DAZ2 deletions (4.96%) in the infertile men in comparison with 3 gr/ gr-DAZ1/DAZ2 deletions (3.16%), 10 gr/gr-DAZ3/DAZ4 deletions (10.53%), and 1 b2/b3- DAZ3/DAZ4 deletion (1.05%) in the control.
CONCLUSIONPartial deletions of gr/gr and b2/b3 exist in both healthy men and male patients with different degrees of spermatogenic impairment and cannot be considered as a risk factor for spermatogenesis impairment. However, deletions of different DAZ duplicons in gr/gr and b2/b3 deletions have different effects on spermatogenesis. DAZ1/DAZ2 instead of DAZ3/DAZ4 deletions might be associated with spermatogenesis impairment.
