OBJECTIVETo evaluate the diagnosis and management of adrenal myelolipoma.
METHODSThe clinical data of 26 cases were analyzed retrospectively and the selected articles were reviewed. There were no specific clinical symptom and endocrine abnormality, except increasing catecholamine in 2 cases. All cases but two were diagnosed by B-model ultrasound scanning (B-US), CT or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
RESULTSTwenty-six cases were surgically treated, the diameter of the tumor was 5 - 10 cm, simple tumor resection was performed in 16 cases, and complete adrenal resection was performed in 10 cases. All the operated cases were proved by pathologists. The duration of follow-up was from 6 - 28 months after surgery. No recurrence was observed.
CONCLUSIONSThe diagnosis of adrenal myelolipoma could be established based on B-US, CT or MRI. The tumors whose diameter is larger than 5 cm in size should be removed.

Objective To study the clinical and imaging features of patients with bone metastases from breast cancer and identify the factors related to the incidence of bone metastases. Methods Three hundred and thirty-four patients with breast cancer were recruited into this study. Whole-body 99Tcm-methylene disphosphonate (MDP) bone scan, clinical staging, pathological, immunohistochemical and serological test results were analyzed retrospectively. χ2 test was used for statistical analysis. Results The incidence rate of bone metastases for patients with and without lymph node metastases was 71% (152/214) and 22. 5% (27/120), respectively (χ2 =72.80, P =0.000). The incidence rate of bone metastases from infiltrated non-specified and specified breast cancer was 69% (203/294) and 41.7% (5/12), respectively (χ2 =3. 97, P=0.046). Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was elevated in 28.5% (51/179) and 14.9%(11/74) of patients with and without bone metastases, respectively (χ2 = 5. 25, P = 0.022 ). Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen (CA) 15-3, CA125, CA19-9 increased in 68.7% ( 123/179) and 27.0% (20/74) of patients with and without bone metastases, respectively (χ2 = 37. 03, P =0. 000). Conclusions The incidence of bone metastases from breast cancer is correlated to pathological types of primary tumor and lymph node metastases. Bone metastases occurs more frequently in patients with infiltrated, non-specified, primary cancer and with lymph node metastases. Serum ALP, CEA, CA15-3,CA125, CA19-9 might be the tumor makers for early diagnosis of bone metastases from breast cancer.

OBJECTIVETo determine the role of Pre-S1 protein in diagnosing viral replication in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
METHODS104 consecutive patients with chronic hepatitis B were included in the study, liver biopsy were performed in all patients. Serial serum samples were studied with the quantitative determination of HBV-DNA by a quantitative PCR assay, determination of Pre-S1 protein by ELISA.
RESULTSThe positive rates of HBV-DNA and Pre-S1 protein in patients with HBsAg HBeAg anti-HBc (+) both were 96.5%. The positive rates of HBV-DNA and Pre-S1 protein in patients with HBsAg anti-HBe anti-HBc (+) were 81.5%, 72.3%, respectively. The positive rates of HBV-DNA and Pre-S1 protein in patients with HBsAg anti-HBc (+) were 87.5%, 75.0%, respectively. It represented some patients with HBeAg (-) anti-HBe (+/-) still had viral replication. HBV-DNA>10(3) copy/ml as positive criteria for diagnosing viral replication, the positive rate of HBeAg, Pre-S1 were 31.5% (28/89), 80.9% (72/89) in patients with HBV-DNA>10(3) copy/ml, respectively. The concordance rates of HBeAg, Pre-S1 with HBV-DNA were 40.0% (42/104), 82.0% (85/104), respectively.
CONCLUSIONIt showed that Pre-S1 was more sensitive than HBeAg in diagnosing viral replication in patients with chronic hepatitis B.

OBJECTIVETo establish height-weight indices in newborns of different gestational ages and to provide reference data for evaluation of intrauterine fetal growth.
METHODSThe weight, height, crown-rump length, head circumference, and chest circumference of 8 357 newborns were measured in Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital of Bao'an District of shenzhen between 2005 and 2006, with the method of fact-finding investigation with cross-sectional cluster sampling, to establish the height-weight indices in newborns of different gestational ages.
RESULTSFive gender-specific height-weight indices (Quetelet Index, QI; Kaup Index, KI; Rohrer Index, RI; Livi Index, LI; Polock Index, PI) in newborns of different gestational ages (28-44 weeks of gestation) in three different groups (boys+girls, boys, and girls) were established in Shenzhen, China, and were expressed as mean gestational weeks±SD. The five indices above all increased with increasing gestational age, and the highest values appeared at 41-43 gestational weeks, suggesting that body density and enrichment degree increased constantly with increasing gestational age. Three indices (QI, KI and PI) were higher in boys than in girls (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSWith the increasing gestational age, the body density and enrichment degree of newborns increase, and the enrichment degree in boys is better than that in girls.

This study was purposed to analyze and identify a novel HLA allele in Chinese population. A new HLA-B allele which is closely related to HLA-B*35:03:01 was initially detected by PCR-SSOP, then DNA sequencing was performed to identify the difference between the novel allele and HLA-B*35:03:01 allele. The result showed that the sequence of the new allele was different from all other known sequence. It differs from the closest matching HLA-B*35:03:01 by a single substitution at position 387 C→G in exon 3, no resulting in amino acid change. It is concluded that this allele is a novel one and has been officially named B*35:03:07 by the WHO Nomenclature Committee.

Objective To explore the detection trend of vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia(VaIN)of lower genital tract from 2013 to 2015. Methods A retrospective analysis was undertaken of colposcopy-directed biopsy of cervical, vaginal and vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia lesions include cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), VaIN and vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University from January 2013 to December 2015. Results (1) Overall data of CIN, VaIN and VIN:a total of 16732 cases were diagnosed of lower genital intraepithelial neoplasia in 3 years, accounting for 23.20% (16732/72128) of total colposcopy-directed biopsy cases. Among them, CIN, VaIN and VIN accounted for 19.48%(14053/72128), 2.67%(1923/72128), 1.05%(756/72128) of total colposcopy-directed biopsy cases of the lower genital tract, 83.99%(14053/16732), 11.49%(1923/16732), 4.52%(756/16732) of total lower genital intraepithelial neoplasia, respectively. (2) Annual data of CIN, VaIN and VIN from 2013 to 2015. The annual proportion of CIN in all intraepithelial neoplasia of lower gential tract was basically stable, consisting of 86.02%(3955/4598),83.25%(4795/5760) and 83.20%(5303/6374), respectively. The annual proportion of VaIN was gradually increasing, consisting of 8.09% (372/4598), 12.45%(717/5760) and 13.08%(834/6374), respectively. The annual proportion of VIN was gradually decreasing, consisting of 5.89% (271/4598), 4.31% (248/5760) and 3.72% (237/6374), respectively. Conclusion The increasing detection of VaIN from 2013 to 2015 might correlate with the increasing attention to inspection of the entire vaginal wall.

Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2017;19(8):877-886
OBJECTIVETo establish the intrauterine growth curves of neonates in Shenzhen, China and to investigate the intrauterine growth of neonates in Shenzhen.
METHODSCross-sectional cluster sampling was performed for an on-the-spot investigation of 16 887 neonates (9 418 males and 7 469 females) with a gestational age of 27-42 weeks who were born in two hospitals in Shenzhen from April 2013 to September 2015. The Lambda Mu Sigma (LMS) method was used for the curve fitting of body weight, body length, head circumference, chest circumference, and crown-rump length.
RESULTSThe 3rd-97th percentile intrauterine growth curves for body weight, body length, head circumference, chest circumference, and crown-rump length were plotted for the neonates with a gestational age of 27-42 weeks who were divided into three groups (male, female, and mixed). The male neonates had significantly higher curves for the five indices than the female counterparts. The pattern and changing trend of body weight curves of these neonates were basically consistent with those in China Neonatal Network.
CONCLUSIONSThe percentile intrauterine growth curves for body weight, body length, head circumference, chest circumference, and crown-rump length in neonates with a gestational age of 27-42 weeks in Shenzhen which has been established can provide a reference for clinical practice in the department of neonatology.

Based on the first isolated human H5N1 influenza virus strain A/Anhui/1/2005 in China, HA and HA1 genes were amplified and cloned into the eukaryotic expression vector pStar. The recombinant plasmids pStar-HA and pStar-HA1 were transfected into COS7 cells. Western blot and IFA showed that the two recombinant DNA plasmids were successfully expressed in eukaryotic cells. BALB/c mice were immunized with the plasmids DNA by intramuscular injection. Anti-HA specific antibody in peripheral blood of immunized mice was tested by ELISA. The results showed that the recombinant plasmids successfully induced the anti-HA humoral immune response, and there was no significant difference between HA and HA1 as immunogen. This work provides basis for future development of novel avian flu vaccine.
