Objective To investigate the therapeutic role of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO) on neonatal hearing impairment induced by hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE),by observing the brain stem auditory evoked potential(BAEP) changes of newborn infants with HIE.Methods One hundred and six cases of HIE in newborn infants(in which 82 cases were mild and 24 cases were severe) treated with HBO and conventional therapy were chosen as HBO treatment group,while other 42 cases of HIE in newborn infants(in which 38 cases were mild and 4 cases were severe) treated with conventional therapy only were served as control group.BAEP was measured at the 3rd to 7th day on patients before treatment and 42 days after birth with or without HBO therapy respectively,and the differences of BAEP changes were compared between the both groups.Results 1.In control group,the rate of abnormality was 47.4% and 31.6%,respectively before and after therapy in mild HIE cases(P=0.240),and 75.0%,50.0% in the moderate-severe HIE cases(P=0.462).2.In HBO group,the abnormal rate was 45.1% and 25.6%,respectively in mild HIE cases before and after therapy,while 75.0% and 41.7% in moderate-severe HIE cases(Pa=0.014,0.039).3.There was obvious difference between control group and HBO group in mild HIE cases(P=0.013),while there was no significant change between the 2 groups in moderate-severe HIE cases(P=0.717).Conclusions Treatment with HBO combined with conventional therapy may improve the abnormal rate of BAEP in patients with HIE according to the present test,especially in mild HIE cases,thus earlier HBO therapy may be used to mitigate hearing impairment and improve prognosis induced by the disease.

Objective: To examine and analyze the expression of two isoforms of livin (livin α/livin β), a novel inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family member, in tumor cell lines and malignant tumor tissues and analyze the relationship between livin expression and clinical pathological features of different tumors. Methods: Livin mBNA expression was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (BT-PCR) in 12 malignant tumor cell lines, 50 different malignant tumor tissues, and 20 cases of normal tissues. Results: Livin mBNA was highly expressed in seven cell lines (Hela, SPEA-1, SBE-2, PC14, MKN45, LOVO, and HHCC) and poor expressed in A549 cells, It had negative expression in other four kinds of cell lines ( HL-7702, Hep-2, 7721 and K562). Livin mRNA was positively expressed in 32 of 50 malignant tumor cases (64.0%). The expression of livin mRNA was at low level in paracancerous tumors tissues (2%). Livin expression had no significant association with differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis and TNM staging of tumor patients. Conclusion: Livin expression in tumor cell lines and malignant tumor tissues provides stronger evidence for further investigating the relationship between livin and tumor initiation and development. It may serve as a new target for malignant tumor diagnosis and therapy.

Objectives To evaluate the therapeutic effect of argon laser photocoagulation combined with intravitreous injection of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) on ischemic central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO). Methods Argon laser photocoagulation combined with intravitreous injection of TA was performed on 17 patients (17 eyes) with CRVO between December 2003 and July 2004. Results During the follow-up of 4-10 months, the visual acuity improved in 16 patients, including alleviated or even disappeared cystoid macular edema (CME) in 5, and recurred macular edema in 5 with decreased visual acuity after 3 months. Six patients had increased ocular pressure after intra-ocular injection which alleviated after treated suitably. No neovascularization in angle or secondary neovascular glaucoma was found. Conclusion [WTBZ]Argon laser photocoagulation combined with intravitreous injection of TA may improve the visual acuity and reduce complications in ischemic CRVO, though macular edema may recur in some cases.

Objective:To construct a fusion DNA vaccine pEGFP-C3-B7.2-hTERT and to observe the capability of pEGFP-C3-B7.2-hTERT DNA vaccine to induce specific anti-tumor immune responses and to inhibit growth of the hepatoma transplanted from H22 cells. Methods: The B7.2 and hTERT cDNA (amplified by RT-PCR), together with pEGFP-C3 as the vector were used to construct fusion gene plasmid pEGFP-C3-B7.2-hTERT, which was then used to vaccinated C57BL/6 mice for 3 times at a 7 d interval. Animals vaccinated with pEGFP-C3-B7.2, pEGFP-C3-hTERT, pEGFP-C3 and PBS were taken as controls. Splenocytes CTLs of immunized mice, the levels of IL-2, IFN-? in the culture supernatant, the levels of antibodies against hTERT, and the changes of the T lymphocyte subsets in the peripheral blood were all examined. The mice harboring hepatocarcinoma H22 cells were challenged with pEGFP-C3-B7.2-hTERT and the tumor forming time and the survival periods of mice were observed. Results: Agarose gel electrophoresis, nuclease digestion and sequencing confirmed the successful construction of pEGFP-C3-B7.2-hTERT. Objective To study the difference and significance of serum Cytokine(IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α)of the young adult with excessive drinking.Methods using ELISA technology to measure difference of serum cytokine of thirty young adults with excessive drinking and twenty young adults with no excessive drinking,and dealing with the above data by spss11.0.Results data of serum cytokine(IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α)are respectively 0.307±0.144 mg/L,3.207±1.477mg/L,0.321±0.105mg/L,and data of serum Cytokine of twenty young adults with no excessive drinking are respectively 0.205±0.121 mg/L,2.323±0.756 mg/L,0.246±0.099mg/L,serum cytokine level of the young adults with excessive drinking is different from serum cytokine level of the young adults with no excessive drinking(P<0.05).Conclusion serum cytokine level of the young adults with excessive drinking is higher than serum cytokine level of the young adults with no excessive drinking.

Objective To observe the effect of intravitreal lucentis injection combined with macular grid photocoagulation for diabetic macular edema (DME).Methods 42 DME patients(42 eyes) according to different treatment methods,were divided into the combined group 21cases(21 eyes) and photocoagulation group 21 cases (21 eyes).The combined group was treated with connaught suitable for intravitreal injection combined macular grid photocoagulation , and the photocoagulation group was treated with simple macular grid photocoagulation .After 1 weeks,2 weeks,4 weeks,8 weeks,12 weeks and best corrected visual acuity before treatment (BCVA) and macular foveal thickness ( CMT) changes were comparative analyzed between the two groups .Results The BCVA values of the photocoagulation group before surgery ,1 week,2 weeks,4 weeks,8 weeks,12 weeks,were (0.74 ±0.24), (0.56 ±0.22),(0.52 ±0.23),(0.51 ±0.21),(0.51 ±0.20),(0.53 ±0.21),and CMT values were (440.36 ±50.56)μm,(376.06 ±28.60)μm,(365.45 ±30.02)μm,(361.38 ±29.56)μm,(358.68 ±30.46)μm,(360.43 ±29.36)μm;The BCVA values of the combined with preoperative group before surgery ,1 week, 2 weeks,4 weeks,8 weeks,12 weeks,were (0.70 ±0.23),(0.55 ±0.19),(0.52 ±0.18),(0.50 ±0.20), (0.48 ±0.19),(0.47 ±0.20),and CMT values were (442.32 ±54.35)μm,(385.14 ±27.34)μm,(345.32 ± 28.12)μm,(336.24 ±28.17)μm,(326.45 ±27.65)μm,(315.36 ±28.23)μm.The differences of BCVA and CMT values of the two groups in each time period values before and after treatment were statistically significant ( all P<0.05),and after 8 weeks,12 weeks,the differences of BCVA and CMT values between the two groups were statisti-cally significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The macular grid photocoagulation only or lucentis injection combined with macular grid photocoagulation for diabetic macular could increase BCVA and reduce macular edema instinctively , but the difference was not significant .Combined therapy could preserve the visual acuity and delay time to relapse .

AIM To study the mechanism of effects about total flavones of choeropondias axillaris(TFC) to heart. METHODS The effects of TFC on contractility were investigated through acting on the guinea pig right ventricle papillary muscles. RESULTS ① TFC decreased both the contractility and contraction rate of papillary muscles. ②The quantity effect curve of CaCl 2 was shifted to right after giving TFC. ③TFC 30.4 ?mol?L -1 prolonged remarkably the functional refractory period (FRP) of guinea pig right ventricle papillary muscles, but exerted no effect on excitability. CONCLUSION TFC can inhibit the Ca 2+ influx into cell in a concentration dependent manner.
