The field medical station in military hospital plays an important role in the military logistic system. To better accomplish the duty of medical support mission, the problems of medical equipment and material store house management in the field medical station are discussed. Some targeted suggestions are introduced from daily management and the use of equipment respectively. It can be used as reference for other military hospitals to accomplish different medical support tasks.

4.Study on the pattern of military medical combinated policlinic Mau Son in Lang Son province

A recommended model of civil military polyclinic was established by the military group B38 in Lang Son province and 6 communal health stations. With this model, the quality of health service activities was strengthened considerably in terms of emergency diagnosis and treatments. The personel staff of communal health station was promoted with the aids from the military side, the difficulties in emergency and treatments were resolved significantly. 5.The research progress of diving medicine in China.

Diving medicine is one of the branches of military medicine, and plays an important role in naval development. This review introduces the progress of researches on undersea and hyperbaric physiology and medicine in the past few years in China. The article describes our research achievement in conventional diving and its medical support, researches on saturation diving and its medical support, submarine escape and its medical support, effects of hyperbaric environments and fast buoyancy ascent on immunological and cardiological functions. Diving disorders (including decompression sickness and oxygen toxicity) are also introduced.

6.Offshore training in navy personnel is associated with uninvestigated dyspepsia.

To investigate the known and new factors associated with uninvestigated dyspepsia (UD), we surveyed 8600 Chinese navy personnel with offshore training shorter than 1 month or longer than 9 months per year. All respondents were required to complete a questionnaire covering demographics, the Chinese version of the Rome III survey, eating habits, life styles, and medical and family history. The response rate was 94.3% (8106/8600) with 4899 respondents qualified for analysis, including 1046 with offshore training and 3853 with onshore training. The prevalence of UD was higher in the offshore group than in the onshore group (12.6% vs. 6.9%, P<0.001), with a general prevalence of 8.1%. The subjects with offshore training were more likely to suffer from UD and postprandial distress syndrome (OR=1.955, 95% CI 1.568-2.439, P<0.001 and OR=1.789, 95% CI 1.403-2.303, P<0.001, respectively). The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed UD was associated with offshore training (OR=1.580, 95% CI 1.179-2.118, P=0.002), family history (OR=1.765, 95% CI 1.186-2.626, P=0.005) and smoking (OR=1.270, 95% CI 1.084-1.488, P=0.003), but not with alcohol drinking. The association between dysentery history and UD was undetermined/borderline (P=0.056-0.069). In conclusion, we identified offshore training as a new factor associated with UD, and also confirmed 2 known associated factors, family history and smoking.

7.The application status of Chinese herbal medicine in military health service in China.

Military medicine has had a long history in China since the emergence of the war. Chinese medicine, especially Chinese herbs, was widely used in China as well as other Asian countries for the prevention and treatment of diseases in the military for hundreds of years. However, the use of Chinese medicine in military health service has never been well studied. In this article, we briefly summarize the application status of Chinese herbal medicine in military health service in China, putting particular emphasis on special military environment, in an attempt to build a bridge between Chinese medicine and military health service and promote the quality of health service for the military and maintain world peace.

8.A Clinical Study of Stress Fracture of the Tibia

The stress or fatigue fracture is well known in military medicine, but it is an unusual occurrence in civilian practice. The stress fracture of metatarsal bone is familiar to most, but in the tibia it is unusual. The clinical symptoms of pain, swelling and limping following strenuous activity were seen in the affected lower leg and proceeded radiological evidence of fracture. 17 cases of stress fracture of tibia were investigated in a military hospital between March 1973 and May, 1974. The results of this study are as follows, 1. The fractures mainly occurred in the upper one third of the tibia (13 cases among 17). 2. The cases with only callus formation were more frequent than the cases with fracture line on the tibia (11 cases among 17). 3. If pain occurs in the lower leg after strenuous activity, there should be attention with serial radiological checking.

9.Disasters and the disaster medicine

The definition of a disaster varies across research institutions, although it is generally regarded as a sudden event that demands more resources than the community can offer. Disaster medicine originates from military medicine. It is a new field of medicine that has much in common with emergency medicine, but focuses more on disaster management, targeting populations. It plays a key role both in the pre-event period by helping with disaster preparedness and in the event of a disaster by providing disaster medical services, including on-scene emergency life-saving interventions, thereby contributing to a decrease in the preventable mortality rate. Triage is a system used to sort mass disaster victims according to severity, enabling resources to be allocated, distributed, and utilized more efficiently. During disasters, a hospital should respond to the surge in patients in accordance with the standards and principles of disaster medicine by activating its emergency operation plan, converting the usual medical system into the emergency system, and putting disaster response teams into operation. Disaster medicine is the key discipline for all aspects of preparedness and response to conventional disasters, and even to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive events.

10.Sun Xi-miao in The Biography of The Avatamsaka-Sutra.

This paper aimed to introduce and examine the biography of Sun Xi-miao (581-682) which I found in The Biography of The Avatamsaka-Sutra, that Fazang (643-712) wrote in 692 A.D. This document was neglected to understand Sun who was the famous medical writer of the collection of prescriptions, the Bei ji qian jin yao fang. His life is rather well documented, because he has his own biographies in Jiu Tang shu and Xin Tang shu which cited from Da Tang sin yu, published in 807. But I found several new informations about Sun in The Biography of The Avatamsaka-Sutra, such as he use to be a military medicine in the troops of Li Yuan who became the first emperor Kao Tsu of Tang dynasty and treat Sun with great favour. This document let us know that the Bei ji qian jin yao fang was dedicated to Kao Tsu, known as published in 652 A.D. MY CONCLUSIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS: First, it was written by Fazang in 692 A.D, who was the real establisher of the fraternity of the Avatamsaka in China, for the purpose of encouraging to copy the Avatamsaka-Sutra. According to this biography, Sun made 750 copies to persuade the monks and the peoples, and that's the reason Fazang wrote his biography. Secondly, it was not conveyed to posterity, such as Sun was good looking, tall and use to be the medicine of Kao Tsu and dedicated his medical book to the first emperor. It might be left out for Tai Tsung's sake in the official records, who murdered his brother, the heir apparent to the throne and became the second emperor by himself. On the contrary, it was written in Da Tang sin yu, Jiu and Xin Tang shu that Sun made a prediction that his collection of prescriptions would help the holyman after 50 years from Xuan Di (578-579) of Northern Chou Dynasty. Holyman meant Tai Tsung. It shows that Sun's biographies in the Da Tang sin yu, Jiu and Xin Tang Shu were based on the documents that might be fabricated and embellished for Tai Tsung. Thirdly, this biography let us know that Sun wote the Bei ji qian jin yao fang under the circumstances that the epidemic disease was spreaded in Changan at 618 A.D. and the population of Kao Tsu era (618-626) was decreased rapidly. I think that's why he wrote down the medical morals as the first chapter, and the prescriptions about the gynecology and pediatrics as the second chapter.
