Traumatic atlanto-occipital dislocation is usually fatal. To date, few cases have been reported in the literature because survival after traumatic atlanto-occipital dislocation is extremely rare. We present the case of a 47-year-old man with traumatic atlanto-occipital rotatory posterior dislocation combined with atlanto-axial rotatory subluxation and treated by occipito-cervical fusion using Bohlman's triple wiring technique.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2001;39(2):237-239
Desmoplastic trichilemmoma is a rare variant of trichilemmoma. A 46-year-old woman presented with a verrucous papule on the face. Histologically, well-circumscribed lobular growth with abundant central desmoplastic stroma was seen. Peripheral area of tumor lobules showed the usual feature of trichilemmoma, whereas the center of tumor was replaced by irregular cords and nests of basaloid or malpighian cells entrapped in a dense stroma, mimicking invasive carcinoma. It was diagnosed desmoplastic trichilemmoma by the distinctive histologic appearance and totally excised.

Acrochordons are commonly found in middle aged rnan. They are mostly a few millimeters in size. The authors report an exceptionally large(10x5cm) one with a 3cm pedicle, which is thought to be the largest one in the Korean literature.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2004;42(8):1079-1081
As a rule, spiradenoma occurs as a solitary intradermal nodule measuring 1 to 2cm in diameter. Occasionally, there are several nodules, and rarely, there are numerous small nodules in a zosteriform pattern or large nodules, up to 5 cm, in a linear arrangement. A 51-year-old man presented with a 4-year history of multiple, small, tender nodules which showed a linear distribution along the right subclavian area. The diagnosis of spiradenoma was made by clinical and histopathological findings and all the subcutaneous nodules were completely excised by a surgical method. We, herein, report a rare case of multiple linear spiradenoma.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: KVSS (Korean Version of Sniffin' Sticks) identification test using 16 odorants familiar to Koreans is used for evaluation of olfactory function. We analyzed the correct-answer rate of the odor identification test among KVSS test to validate the reliability of these odorants. SUBJECTS AND METHOD: From April 2004 through August 2006, 720 patients underwent an odor identification test and from these, 441 patients who scored more than 9 were included. The score groups were divided into 4 groups: more than 9, 10, 11 and 12 score group. The age groups were divided into 4 groups: 0-19, 20-39, 40-59, 60 and more than 60 year-olds. The differences in the correct-answer rates of the odorant were investigated according to the score groups, age groups and sex were calculated using SPSS software. RESULTS: The odorant 6 (lemon), 7 (licorice), 8 (pine resin), and 11 (apple) showed low correct-answer rates than other odorants. Especially the correct-answer rates of odorant 7 and 11 were significantly lower than other odorants except odorant 6 and 8 in all score groups, in all age groups and both sex (p< or =.001). CONCLUSION: In the odor identification test, odorants 7 and 11 had low reliabililty for evaluation of the olfactory function, maybe due to unfamiliar odorants to Koreans or test pen failure and they had better be changed into more reliable odorants. For that, we need further investigations about KVSS test before widely used.

White fibrous papulosis of the neck is a rare disorder, characterized by asymptomatic white papules that appear around neck in elderly people. The histopathologic findings showed thickened collagen bundles in the papillary to mid dermis. We report a case of white fibrous papulosis of the neck in a 53-year-old man.
