Objective To study the main factors affecting the preparation of osthol ( Ost ) loaded solid lipid nanoparticies ( SLN ) . Methods The SLN were prepared by melt-homogenization method. The optimum formulation and process were selected by orthogonai design. The shape, particle size, loading capacity were investigated. Results The obtained Ost-loaded SLN were sphere or oval at a range of 100-200 nm, and were well distributed without adhesion, the loading capacity was 59. 78%. Conclusion The melt-homogenization method is available for the preparation of Ost loaded SLN.

Objective To examine the impact of case management on hospitalizations of the chronically and severely mentally ill patients in Zhongshan. Methods Patients with severe and chronic mental illness, aged ≥ 15 years and living in pilot area were divided into two groups naturally since the program of case management launched, 65 cases in the group of case management and 112 patients in the group of standard management. Hospitalizations of the two groups before and after case management were compared. Results Data were analysised with MIXED procedure. Length of stay in days per admission (LOS) of both groups decreased with time in years (F=11.02, P=0.001), and the decline in LOS of case management group was greater than that of standard management group (F=9.02, P=0.003). The average admissions of case management group was more than that of standard management group (F=4.98,P=0.03). There was no significant differences in average hospitalization incidents before and after case management in both groups(case management group 5.13%vs. 5.38%, standard management group 7.14%vs. 8.92%, P>0.05). Conclusions Case management was effective in reducing hospitalizations for a group of Chinese with chronic and severe mental illness, and may contribute to the balance on mental health resources between community and hospital.

Objective To explore the effects of rational emotive therapy on self-efficacy of patients with depression for the first time. Methods Totally 80 cases of patients from January 2012 to December 2014 were randomized divided into the research group (40 cases) and the control group (40 cases) according to random number table method.Patients in two groups were all treated with same anxiety and depression drug, and received conventional psychiatric nursing care.Patients in the control group also received rational emotive therapy training.Patients in two groups were assessed by the Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA),Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) and general self-efficacy scale (GSES) before the intervention and 4 weeks after intervention. Results The HAMA and HAMD scores in two groups after intervention, were lower than the scores before intervention (t =9.726,27.270,6.433,18.736,-4.117,-8.041;P<0.05).The total GSES scores were higher in two groups after intervention, and the GSES score in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group (t=10.887,8.686,3.896;P<0.05).Conclusions Rational emotive cognitive therapy training can help patients to establish a rational cognitive mode;strengthen self-efficacy in patients with depression;improve patient's self-worth;and has positive synergy in the rehabilitation of patients with depression in the hospital for the first time.
