Objective To explore the correlation of the operation effects of the miorovascular decompression(MVD) and the findings on magnetic resonance tomographic angiography(MRTA) in patients of neurovascular compression of the cranial nerves. Methods Two hundred and twenty three patients treated with the microvascular decompression were analyzed retrospectively. They were grouped and graded according to the vessel compression on the cranial nerves. The compression were grouped as none, moderate and severe, and the operation effects were graded as Ⅰ ( complete relief), Ⅱ ( partial relief) and Ⅲ ( no relief). The operation effects grades were correlated according to the compression groups by Kruskal-Wallis test and the operation effects between each two of the groups were compared using Nemenyi test.P < 0.05 was defined as statistic significant. Results Of the 53 cases of non-compression group, 31 cases were graded as Ⅰ , 13 cases were graded as Ⅱ and 9 cases were graded as Ⅲ, according to the operation-effects of the decompression.Of the 110 cases of moderate group,95 cases were grade as Ⅰ , 11 cases were graded as Ⅱ and 4 cases were graded as Ⅲ.Of the 60 cases of severe group, 48 cases were graded as Ⅰ, 7 cases were graded as Ⅱ and 5 cases were graded as Ⅲ.There were statistic significance among the three groups, where χ2= 16.84 and P <0.05.The mean rank of the non-compression, the moderate and the severe group was 134.21,102.37 and 110.4 ,respectively. The difference of the mean ranks between the non-compression group and the moderate group was 31.84, and between the non-compression and the severe group was 24.17, respectively, where P < 0.05 both. Conclusions There was close relationship between the findings on magnetic resonance tomographic angiography and the operation effects of the MVD.The operation effects of patients with moderate and severe vessel compression were much better than the non-compression group.MRTA is helpful for MVD surgical indication and its prognosis.
6.Combined local block anesthesia and general anesthesia in cleft lip repairing operation of infants.
West China Journal of Stomatology 2005;23(3):223-225
OBJECTIVESummarizing the value and key point of combined use of local block anesthesia and general anesthesia in cleft lip repairing for infants.
METHODSLocal block anesthesia and general anesthesia were combined to use in 120 cleft lip repairing operation of infants using Midazolam, Fentangl, Ketamine, Scoline (or Vecuronium) in intubation, and injecting 0.5% - 1% lidocaine of which contained 1/250 000 adrenalinum. While intubation and operation, BP, P, R, SpO2, T and ECG were observed clearly. After operation, extubation was delayed and breathing oxygen was used for infants with breathing airway infection.
RESULTSWhile operation, anesthesia of 120 infants was smooth. After operation, the infants regain conscious quickly and no accident occurred.
CONCLUSIONFor the cleft lip repairing operation to infants, as combined use of local block anesthesia and general anesthesia, anesthesia is smooth, internal environment of body is steady, bleeding is little, regaining consciousness is quick and the infants are safe.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2006;31(13):1056-1058
OBJECTIVETo establish the HPLC fingerprint of Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii.
METHODThe chromatographic separation was performed on a Kromasil C18 (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) eluted with a mobile phase of acetonitrile-ammonium acetate buffer (2. 5 per thousand acetic acid-ammonia pH 10.5) (60:40). The UV detection wavelength was set at 240 nm and the flow rate was set at 1.0 mL x min(-1).
RESULTThe RSD of precision and repeatability was less than 2%. Under the selected chromatographic conditions, good HPLC fingerprints of Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii were obtained.
CONCLUSIONThe method was simple, accurate and repeatable. It can be used for the quality control of Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii.

Objective To observe the HBV serum markers and HBV DNA expressions of the neonates born to the HBsAg-positive mothers. Methods By detecting serum immunity markers of hepatitis B virus (5 items) and serum HBV DNA of 283 neonates (a pair of twins) born to 282 HBsAg-positive mothers. Results 12 patterns emerge from the study of the hepatitis B serum markers of 283 neonates.Topping the list is the combination of HBeAg and anti-HBc positive accounting for 48.41% (137/283),followed by the combination of anti-Hbe and anti-HBc positive accounting for 22.26% ( 62/283 ).The third highest combination is that of HBsAg,HBeAg and anti-HBc positive accounting for 12.37% (35/283).There are five combinations accounting for 16.61% (47/283),each with HBsAg-positive.No case is found of the five items all negative or only HBsAb positive.Five cases are detected of serum HBV DNA ≥ 1 ×103IU/ml accounting for 1.77%.Conclusions Neonates born to HBsAg-positive mothers display complex patterns of serum hepatitis B markers, the dominant pattern being the combination of HBeAg and anti-HBc positive.Cases of serum HBV DNA ≥ 1 × 103IU/ml are rare.

Objective To investigate the effects of various degrees of sleep deprivation on cognitive and cerebral mitochondrial respiratory function in rats. Methods Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to a 10-day sleep deprivation protocol and were divided into 5 groups randomly: allowing sleep for 12 h (control group), 9 h (group1), 6 h( group2), 3 h (group3), 0 h each day (group4). The modified multiple platform method(MMPM) was used to establish sleep deprivation model. The cognitive function was tested by Y-type maze. Mitochondrial respiratory function was measured by Clarktype oxygen electrode. Results The number of error reactions was significantly increased in sleep deprived rats. There were statistically significant differences( P < 0.05 )in the number of error reactions between the control group and the completely deprived(0 h group)or severely deprived(3 h group)rats on each of the study days. The oxygen consumption rate in state 3 respiration was significantly decreased( P < 0.05 )in sleep deprived rats compared with the control group. The oxygen consumption rate in state 4 respiration was significantly decreased(P < 0.05 )only in the completely deprived(0 h group)rats compared with the control group. Conclusion Sleep deprivation, no matter mild or severe, both could have adverse effects on cognitive function and cerebral mitochondrial respiratory function.
