Objective To investigate the correlation between clinical presentations and the findings of video fluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS)in patients with post-stroke dysphagia. Methods A total of 56 consecutive patients with post-stroke dysphagia admitted to Wenzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated to Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from June 2012 to May 2014 were enrolled. Four different kinds of food were selectively used to complete clinical assessment of swallowing function and VFSS respectively. The SPSS 20. 0 statistical software was used to perform univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses for all observed indexes of the 2 methods. Results there were significant correlations in the point correspondence relation among the clinical manifestations and VFSS in food residue in the mouth and abnormal closure of lips in the oral phase (95%CI 1. 430-101. 468;P=0. 022);poor soft palate elevation and food residue in the mouth (95%CI 1. 476-102. 033;P=0. 020);graded swallowing and piecemeal deglutition with delayed oral transit (95% CI 2. 616 -182. 897;P = 0. 004);tongue movement disorders, poor soft palate elevation and tongue dyskinesia with poor bolus formation (95%CI 1. 468-50. 795,1. 220-13. 825;P=0. 017,0. 023);food leak from the corner of mouth, dysphagia, bolus falling to the epiglottis from the base of tongue or trachea (95%CI 1. 146-125. 459,1. 657-174. 400;P=0.038,0. 017). The weakened pharyngeal reflex with weak laryngeal elevation in the pharyngeal phase (95%CI 1. 150-92. 815;P =0. 037);dysphagia and delayed swallowing with prolonged triggering of swallowing reflex (95%CI 2. 123-37. 770,1. 233-114. 176;P=0. 003,0. 032);graded swallowing, hard swallowing, choking sensation, and poor laryngeal elevation with prolonged pharyngeal transit (95%CI 1. 619-223. 316,1. 061-31. 445,2. 834 -132. 707;P =0. 019,0. 042,and 0. 003);dysphagia and the opening of cricopharyngeal muscle insufficiency (95%CI 1. 037 -24. 115;P =0. 045);weak laryngeal elevation, foreign body sensation in the throat, and choking after swallowing with food retention or residual in vallecula or pyriform sinus (95%CI 1. 046 -13. 685,1. 116 -87. 741;P =0. 043, 0.040);and coughing during swallowing and eating choking or aspiration (95%CI 0. 010-0. 921,0. 037-0. 826;P=0. 042,0. 028). BACKGROUND:Polylactic acid-glycolic acid polymer is a sustained-release material with relatively large drug loading and long-term release abilities that can degrade with cel growth in the body. However, its poor hydrophily easily leads to aseptic inflammation that is detrimental to the body’s recovery. OBJECTIVE:To study the release and distribution of anti-tuberculosis drug delivery materials local y oriented within the rabbit radius. METHODS:After modeling, 20 New Zealand white rabbits with distal radius bone defect were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, which were respectively given implantation of isoniazid-rifampicin polylactic acid-glycolic acid polymer/β-tricalcium phosphate material and isoniazid-rifampicin polylactic acid-glycolic acid polymer into the defect. Then, X-ray examination of the defect region was conducted at weeks 4, 8, 12 post implantation. Histological observation and detection of peripheral blood or local blood concentration were performed at week 12. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After implantation, Lane-Sandhu X-ray scores were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group (P<0.05). The defect in the experimental group was healed completely with less release residual among newborn bone trabeculae and osteocytes were markedly visible on the material surface, while in the control group, new bone tissues were interconnected with the surrounding bone tissues at the defect site, and less release residual was found. Both peripheral blood and local blood concentrations in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group after implantation (P<0.05). To conclude, the anti-tuberculosis drug delivery material, isoniazid-rifampicin polylactic acid-glycolic acid polymer/β-tricalcium phosphate, has ideal release effect that can stably deliver anti-tuberculosis drugs for a long term at a high bactericidal concentration.

This study aims to analyze and compare the effect of cell wall-broken decoction pieces, conventional decoction pieces and conventional powder of Rhodiolae Crenulatae Radix et Rhizoma on the intestinal flora of normal mice. The conventional bacterial culture and PCR-DGGE (polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis) were adopted for the mice after the oral administration for 14 days. According to the bacterial culture results, the 1/8 dose cell wall-broken decoction pieces group showed fewer Enterococcus and Escherichia coli bacillus but more Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium than the conventional decoction pieces group and the traditional powder group (P <0.05). Meanwhile, on the basis of the PCR-DGGE results, the 1/8 dose cell wall-broken decoction pieces group revealed the highest Shannon-Wiener index (H) and species richness (S) among the seven groups, with extremely significant differences compared with the normal group (P <0.01), significant differences compared with the conventional decoction pieces group and the conventional powder group (P <0.05) and a high intra-group similarity. In conclusion, the long-term intake of 1/8 dose Rhodiolae Crenulatae Radix et Rhizoma cell wall-broken decoction pieces showed a certain effect in regulating intestinal tract by promoting the growth of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. Furthermore, the intestinal flora community will become more stable.

Thirty SHRs were obtained randomly to hypertension, model group, captopril group and Qingre jiangya capsule group. Ten Wistar rats were used as control group. The hippocampus tissue was removed to explore the damage of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and the protective effect of Qingre jiangya capsule after continuously administered for 14 days. And then the data were processed by principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA). The research results revealed captopril group was significantly different from the other three groups. The classification of other three groups is also very clear after captopril group removed. This suggested that Qingre jiangya capsule could improve the overall metabolism compared with captopril. Four metabolites were identified: dimethylglycine, glycerophosphocholine, aldosterone and noradrenaline. Hypertension hippocampus damage may mainly be expressed in tyrosine metabolism, aldosterone-regulated sodium, vascular smooth muscle contraction reabsorption, and Qingre jiangya capsule could reverse the hippocampus tissue damage of SHR.
