Objective To observe the effects of different levels of stroke volume variation (SVV)directed fluid therapy on prognosis in elderly patients. Methods One hundred and ten patients (male 67 cases, female 43 cases, aged 65-80 years,ASA grade Ⅰ or Ⅱ)undergoing abdominal sur-geries were randomized into three groups on the basis of SVV level:1 1%≤SVV≤14% (group H,n=37),7%≤SVV≤10% (group M,n = 37),3% ≤ SVV≤ 6% (group L,n = 36).Each group ac-cepted different fluid therapy strategy.Perioperative intake and outtake volume were recorded.Progno-sis indicators included gastrointestinal function recovery, post and total length of hospital stay and so on were collected.Postoperative complications were also recorded. Results Along with the level of SVV dropped,The volume of colloid and crystalloid among groups were significantly increased (P <0.05).There were no remarkable difference in the time interval of activity off bed, liquid diet, gastrointestinal decompres-sion and catheterization.Group L had a delayed exhaust time compared with group H (P <0.05).Patients in the group M had a shorter time to have semi-liquid diet. The transition of diet was also shortest in the group M.But these differences were not statistically significant. The group M also had a shorter time in first-degree or above nursing time and post and total length of hospital stay compared with group L (P <0.05).The incidence of postoperative infection in group L was higher than other two groups.Incidence of anastomosis leakage in group H was higher than that in other two groups (P <0.05).Conditions of compli-cations in group L were more severe and complicated compared with other two groups. Conclusion 3%≤SVV≤6% may increase the risk of postoperative infection and prolong the time of hospitalization.Patients in the level of 7%≤SVV≤10% may have a better postoperative recovery. This level could be a better goal of perioperative fluid therapy in elderly patients.

The outbreak of viral pneumonia caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in Wuhan, China poses a major threat to public health. SARS-CoV-2 is highly homologous to severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus and Middle East respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus, all of which may cause severe respiratory symptoms. In addition to respiratory symptoms, a considerable proportion of patients with SARS and SARS-CoV-2 infection have varying degrees of liver injury, but their epidemiological features and pathogenesis remains unclear. This article summarizes the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 and elaborates on the current status of the research on SARS-CoV-2, possible mechanism of liver injury caused by SARS-CoV-2, and effective treatment regimens, so as to provide a reference and new research ideas for the prevention and treatment of liver injury in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2020;36(7):1623-1626
Childhood nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the most common cause of chronic liver diseases in children and adolescents; its unique histopathological and clinical features may lead to its progression to liver fibrosis, liver cirrhosis, and liver cancer, and compared with adult NAFLD, it is more likely to cause other diseases and increase mortality rate. Therefore, early identification of risk factors for childhood NAFLD, effective screening of high-risk population, active prevention, and early diagnosis and treatment are key to effective clinical management of this disease. This article elaborates on the risk factors, screening methods, and preventive healthcare measures for childhood NAFLD, in order to standardize the comprehensive management of NAFLD, reduce the prevalence rate of NAFLD, delay its progression, and alleviate the economic and public health burden brought by the disease.

Objective: To compare the efficacy difference between moxibustion at sensitized-acupoints and non-sensitized- acupoints using the same group of acupoints. Methods: A total of 139 patients with chronic superficial gastritis were divided into a sensitized acupoint group (102 cases) and a non-sensitized acupoint group (37 cases) based on whether acupoint sensitization occurred. The SPSS version 19.0 statistical software propensity score matching function was used to balance the baseline data between the groups. Finally, 29 pairs of matched patients were included, namely 29 cases in the sensitized acupoint group and 29 cases in the non-sensitized acupoint group. Both groups were treated with moxibustion therapy. The treatment lasted for 30 min per time, and was performed every other day for 8 weeks. Changes in the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptom score and the short-form 36-item health survey (SF-36) score in both groups were observed before and after treatment, as well as the clinical efficacy. Results: The covariates of age, course of disease, TCM symptom score and SF-36 score in the two groups were balanced after matching (all P>0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate was 100.0% in the sensitized acupoint group and 79.3% in the non-sensitized acupoint group. The difference in the total effective rate between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.01). After treatment and at the 4-week follow-up, the TCM symptom scores in the sensitized acupoint group were significantly lower than those in the non-sensitized acupoint group (all P<0.01); the SF-36 scores in the sensitized acupoint group were significantly higher than those in the non-sensitized acupoint group (all P<0.01). Conclusion: With the same group of acupoints, the sensitized acupoints have a better therapeutic effect and long-term efficacy than the non-sensitized acupoints in the treatment of chronic superficial gastritis.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2004;24(4):311-3, 321
To construct the eukaryotic expression plasmid of human PRX3 and measure its expression in the HEK-293FT cells, the full-length coding region of human PRX3 was cloned by PCR and inserted into the eukaryotic expression vector pcDNA4-Xpress (A). HEK-293FT cells were transiently transfected with the recombinant plasmid. Western blot and immuofluorescence were used to detect the expression of the fusion protein. In the experiment, restriction analysis identified the construction of the recombinant plasmid and the inserted sequence was identical with that published on GenBank. Western blot and immunofluorescence confirmed the expression of the recombinant protein in transfected HEK-293FT cells. It was concluded that the eukaryotic expression plasmid of human PRX3 was constructed successfully and the recombinant could be expressed efficiently in HEK-293FT cells, which provides a sound basis for the further study on human PRX3.
