BACKGROUND/AIMS: The status of tumor suppression gene can be assessed indirectly by analyzing the loss of heterozygosity. Hepatoblastoma is a malignant liver tumor in childhood. To find the molecular carcinogenetic mechanism of hepatoblastoma, loss of heterozygosity (LOH) of p73, APC and p53 was studied. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Hepatoblastoma tissues from thirty-three cases were collected by lobectomy or tumorectomy. On H- stained sections, normal and tumor cells were microdissected separately and LOH analysis was perfomed using 8 markers: six of p73, one of APC and one of p53. RESULTS: Number of cases showing at least one LOH in six p73 markers was four out of twenty- six (15.4%): each LOH frequencies in D1S160, D1S170, D1S199, D1S228, D1S243 and D1S253 were in order of 7.7%, 0%, 9.1%, 0%, 12.5% and 0%. LOH frequency of APC was 41.7% and that of p53 was 13.3%. CONCLUSION: Low LOH frequency of p73 related markers indicates that p73 gene may not be implicated in carcinogenesis of hepatoblastoma.

Korean Journal of Occupational Health Nursing 2016;25(4):259-267
PURPOSE: This study examined the effect of job stress, depression and perceived health status on job satisfaction among child care teachers. METHODS: Data were from a convenient sample of 169 child care teachers with self-administered questionnaires from January 5th to 30th, 2015. Collected data were analysed using SPSS/WIN 18.0. RESULTS: Child care teachers had upper-medium level of perceived health status, lower level of depression and job stress and above medium level of job satisfaction. Affecting factors of job satisfaction among child care teachers included depression, and job stress (Adj.R²=.58, F=78.60, p<.001). CONCLUSION: These results suggest that development of emotional supportive program and supportive system are needed to increase the job satisfaction among child care teachers. Exploration of strategies to reduce the depression and job stress will be necessary in order to increase the job satisfaction.

Child Health Nursing Research 2018;24(2):186-198
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the needs for children's health promotion education programs as perceived by child care center teachers and mothers. METHODS: This study conducted a survey of 88 child care center teachers and 70 mothers of preschool children in Seoul from January 4 to February 5, 2016. This study aimed to characterize the current conditions of health promotion education for preschool children and the needs for health promotion education as perceived by child care center teachers and mothers of preschool children. RESULTS: Areas of high need for health promotion education included lifestyle improvements for preventing diseases in children and awareness of the importance of health in educational objectives, standardized educational manuals, health educators as educators, child care centers as educational places, local health centers as educational support organizations, regular class hours as educational time, role play for training, and actual models in the educational medium. The educational subjects for which a high need was reported included safety and accident prevention, the role of smartphones and TV watching in mental health, and personal hygiene and disease prevention. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that it is necessary to develop a health promotion education program for preschool children.

Korean Journal of Child Health Nursing 2006;12(1):44-56
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the health education needs of mothers who are nurturing children with disabilities. METHOD: A descriptive study was done and the participants were 108 mothers of children with disabilities such being mentally challenged, developmentally delayed or having a disability involving brain damage. The questionnaire was a health education need assessment with 11 categories(58 items) developed by Han et al. The data were analyzed using SPSS program. RESULTS: The mean score for health education needs of the mothers of children with disabilities was 3.83 (SD=0.58) out of a maximum 5. The health education need for acquisition of knowledge and information had the highest score (4.40+/-0.54) followed by health education needs for cognitive development and learning (4.31+/-0.64), interpersonal relationships (4.04+/-0.65) and behavior and emotion (4.04+/-0.79). There were significant differences between the children's sex (t=2.08, p=.04), birth order (t=2.17, p=.03), grade of disability (F=3.32, p=.02) and sex education suitable to the child's in age. CONCLUSION: The health education needs of mothers of children who are disabled were very high and varied. Therefore, it was important to develop comprehensive education programs which include this content and provide opportunities for mothers of children with disabilities to receive this education.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1995;33(2):401-406
Keratoacanthoma is a rapidly growing, usually self-limited, hnil n tumor that has a striking rescmblance clinically ancl histologically to squamous cell carcinoma. Although thc keratoacanthorna is involuted spontaneously, then are several reasons why these lesions should treated. Treatment may hasten resolution, prevent extensive destruction of normal tissue, and improve she overall cosmetic result, and there are norabsolutely reliable diagnostic critcria to differcntiate these lesions from squamous cell carcinom complete excision is currently the choice of treatment or the majority of solitary keratoacanthims. However, this can lead to significant cosmetic or functional dcfects particularly in lesions located on intricate areas of thc face. Effective nonsurgical mclalities are rcquirced in such cases. Herein we report three cases of keratoacanthoma successfully reited by intralesional injection of 5-fluorouracil, and suggest that intralesional injection of 5-fluroiracil is a effective, safead convenient method of treatment for the multiplc keratoacahtnom and solitary lesions which are difficult to remove surgically.

Journal of Korean Oncology Nursing 2011;11(2):108-115
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of preoperative pain management education on postoperative pain control in patients with uterine tumor using patient controlled analgesia. METHODS: This study used non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. Data were collected from September, 2008 to March, 2009 at one university hospital in Daegu, Korea. There were 60 participants, 30 in both the experimental and control group. The experimental group was given preoperative pain education using videos, leaflets, and a PCA model. Postoperative pain intensity, frequency of the PCA button being pressed, and doses of additional analgesics were observed through 24 hours postoperative and knowledge of pain and attitude about the use of the pain medicine were measured at 3 days postoperative. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, chi2 test, repeat measured ANOVA, and Bonferroni methods. RESULTS: There were no significant differences in the postoperative pain level between the experimental and control group. Postoperative frequency of the PCA button pressed, doses of additional analgesics, pain knowledge and attitude about the use of the pain medicine of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group. CONCLUSION: Pain management education is an effective nursing intervention for pain control after surgery.

Asian Oncology Nursing 2012;12(1):35-43
PURPOSE: The purpose of the study was to identify the effect of a comprehensive education program on knowledge, self-efficacy for self-management, and coping style among newly diagnosed patients with breast cancer. METHODS: This study used a one group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected from April to September, 2010 at a cancer-specific hospital in Goyang, Korea. One hundred forty three women received a comprehensive education program consisting of 3 sessions composed of 8 themes was conducted by several experts (nurses, doctors, dietitians and clinical psychologists) for 3.5 hours a day for 3 days (1 day before and 2 days after the operation). RESULTS: This study showed that knowledge and self-efficacy for self-management significantly increased after education (p<.001). In terms of coping style, however, only the subscale, 'anxious preoccupation', significantly improved (p=.001) among 5 subscales of coping style after education. CONCLUSION: A comprehensive education program for newly diagnosed patients with breast cancer was effective for increasing the knowledge and self-efficacy for self-management of breast cancer, in addition to decreasing the coping style of 'anxious preoccupation'. However, it did not improve other coping style. Therefore, other strategies for improving coping style are needed.
