1.Analysis of Satigfaction Rate after Central Photorefrattive Keratectomy by Excimer Laser.

From March in 1991, central photorefractive keratectomy(CPRK) have performed to correct the 700 myopic eyes. With the example of 310 eyes posibly observed over 6 months after CPRK, studed whether it was corrected by retrospective examining. Especilly in the study of 150 patients collected by answering sheet then studied how discomfort they took through complication, and analyzed the cause of change and Indivisual degree of sansfaction with their myopic degree and postoperative permd. This study led to a conclusion that the milder myopia and the longer postoperative period, the more patients sansfaction increased. This is because the change of refractive power become stable and corneal haze decresase with time, Futhermore we dunk that corneal haze and regression occur more frequently in higher myopla, The CPRK is promising surgical treatment for patients with higher myopia but considerable further investigation and longer-term studies are needed to increase satisfaction.

2.Evaluation of Asthma-related Websites.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to analyze current status of the web sites dealing with asthma in the Internet, and to evaluate their technical aspects and contents. METHODS: The evaluation tool consisted of four areas(construction, operation, accessibility, and content) with twenty-six items. Four sites including the contents related with symptoms of asthma, consultation of health professionals, and treatment and nursing for asthma were selected to be analyzed. RESULTS: The results of the analysis were as follows: 1) there was no web site dealing with asthma managed by public institutions 2) the only 5% of the top 100 sites were found to be related with the asthma by exploring the top five search engines in Korea and 3) the evaluation scores four web sites were 6-11 out of 18 in the category of construction, 10-21 out of 24 in operation, 5-10 out of 15 in accessibility, and 8-18 out of 21 in content. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, it will be possible to prevent asthma at first through web sites, which will be one of the most beneficial aspects of web site, so the system to evaluate web sites should be developed to provide high-quality information about asthma.

4.Development and effectiveness of a cognitive enhancement program based on a mobile application for preventing dementia: a study focusing on older adults who use senior citizen centers

Purpose:
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a mobile application on quality of life, wellness, and preventive behaviors against dementia among older adults who use senior citizen centers.
Methods:
Seventy-two older adults who used senior citizen centers were allocated to an intervention group (n=36) and a control group (n=36). The experimental treatment involved a cognitive enhancement program for preventing dementia using a mobile application for 12 sessions over 6 weeks. Data were analyzed using the t-test, chi-square test, Fisher’s exact test, paired t-test, and independent t-test.
Results:
The cognitive enhancement program based on a mobile application was effective for wellness (t = -3.87, p < .001) and preventive behaviors against dementia (t = -3.98, p < .001) for older adults who used a senior center.
Conclusion
The mobile application-based cognitive enhancement program developed in this study is recommended as an effective intervention for dementia prevention in older adults.
5.Palate bone exposure from flexible denture: a case report.

Recently, flexible denture is widely used with some advantages such as esthetics, flexibility and biocompatibility. However, there is an opposite opinion about stability because of the movement of denture by the material's flexibility. As the denture moves to tissue surface during mastication, it irritates the supporting tissue. It can lead to trauma and rapid resorption of residual ridges if this irritation lasts for a long time. In this case, the patient has used flexible denture with insufficient stability, retention and support for several years and thus continuous irritation of the supporting tissue resulted in palate bone exposure. The patient discomfort and palate bone exposure underwent improvements by the new denture with stability and retention. A careful case selection for flexible denture, regular checkup and proper treatment are necessary to prevent the side effects.

6.The Influence of Infection-related Characteristics and Patient Safety Culture on Awareness of Blood-borne Infection Prevention in Operating Room Nurses and General Ward Nurses

Purpose:
This study aimed to identify the factors influencing infection-related characteristics and patient safety culture on awareness of blood-borne infection prevention between operating room nurses and general ward nurses.
Methods:
Participants were 198 nurses(operating room nurses 98 and general ward nurses: 100) working at three general hospitals and three university hospitals in three cities. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from September 11 to October 14, 2020. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with IBM SPSS/WIN 26.0 program.
Results:
Typically, 39.8% of nurses in the operating room and 24.0% of ward nurses experienced injuries such as needles and sharp instruments used by the patient. The awareness of patient safety culture was identified to be higher for the ward nurses. Factors influencing the awareness of blood-borne infection prevention in operating room nurses were patient safety culture and wearing protective equipment for infection prevention while nursing infected patients. Moreover, the explanatory power of these variables was 19.4%. In general ward nurses, the patient safety culture was identified as a significant predictor, which accounted for 16.5% of awareness of blood-borne infection prevention.
Conclusion
To prevent hospital infection, a strategy is needed to improve the level of awareness of blood-borne infection prevention and patient safety culture of operating room nurses. To this end, the difference in infection-related characteristics and influencing factors between the operating room nurses and the general ward nurses should be considered and planned.
7.A Comparison of the Bronchodilatory Effect of Halothane, Isoflurane and Desflurane in Isolated Rat Fourth Order Bronchi.

BACKGROUND: Volatile anesthetics are potent bronchodilators of airway smooth muscle. Bronchodilation is occured by depressing reflex neural pathways innervating airway smooth muscle and by acting directly on the smooth muscle cell. We studied the direct relaxation effect and their potency of halothane, isoflurane and desflurane on isolated rat distal bronchial segment of fourth order precontracted with acetylcholine. METHODS: Isolated Sprague-Dawley rat bronchial rings were suspended in tissue bath with modified- Krebs's solution. Based on the dose-response curve, the ED50 of acetylcholine (ACh) was calculated for fourth bronchial segment and administered to each tissue bath, after which the stabilized response was recorded. After then each bronchial segment with intact epithelium was exposed to increasing concentration of halothane, isoflurane and desflurane (1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 MAC)and the relaxant responses were recorded by polygraph. RESULTS: Halothane, isoflurane and desflurane produced concentration-dependent bronchodilation (P<0.05 for either anesthetics; 22 4%, 18 6%, 24 5% for halothane, isoflurane and desflurane at 1.5 MAC, 32 6%, 27 7%, 38 5% for halothane, isoflurane and desflurane at 2.0 MAC). Overall, desflurane had a significantly greater relaxing effect as compared with halothane, isoflurane at 1.5 MAC and 2.0 MAC during ACh-mediated contraction. CONCLUSION: The mechanism of halothane, isoflurane and desflurane-mediated bronchodilation is not known, but may be due to an epithelium dependent effect. The potency of relaxing the ACh precontracted isolated rat bronchial smooth muscle is desflurane, halothane, isoflurane in ordered.

9.The Effect of Desflurane on Myocardial Contractility and Coronary Flow in Isolated Rat Hearts.

Background: Desflurane, a fluorinated methyl-ethyl ether, has some advantageous properties including low blood solubility, stability in soda lime, and resistance to biodegradation. Desflurane in vivo has demonstrated myocardial depressant property. The purpose of this study was to test the direct effects of desflurane on myocardial contractile function and coronary flow in the isolated heart. Methods: Twelve isolated rat hearts were continuously perfused with modified Krebs solution containing 6, 9 and 12 vol% of desflurane for 10 min at each concentration. Systolic left ventricular pressure and rate of change of ventricular pressure (dp/dt) were measured. Heart rate and coronary flow were also measured. To differentiate direct vasodilatory effect of desflurane from an indirect metabolic effect due to autoregulation of coronary flow, oxygen delivery, myocardial oxygen consumption and percent oxygen extraction were calculated. Results: Heart rate (control 266+/-22 beats/min) decreased to 250+/-23 beats/min at 6 vol%, 236+/-26 beats/min at 9 vol% and 223+/-22 beats/min at 12 vol% of desflurane. Systolic left ventricular pressure and dp/dt decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. In spite of decrement of myocardial oxygen consumption, coronary flow (control 12.0+/-1.2 ml/min) increased to 12.8+/-1.6 ml/min at 6 vol%, 12.9+/-1.6 ml/min at 9 vol% and 13.7+/-1.4 ml/min at 12 vol% of desflurane. Oxygen delivery increased proportionally with coronary flow. Percent oxygen extraction decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. Conclusion: These results suggest that desflurane has a direct myocardial depressing and coronary vasodilating effect in a concentration-dependent manner.

10.Job Performance, Perception of Job Importance, and Job Satisfaction in Dietitians Working in Geriatric Hospitals in Busan.

This study was carried out to investigate the job performance, perception of job importance, and job satisfaction in dietitians working in geriatric hospitals in Busan. A survey was conducted from April 28 to June 30, 2011, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The age of over 41 group showed higher job performance in terms of sanitation and safety management than the age of under 25 group but showed lower job performance in terms of nutrition management than the age of 31~40 group. The subjects who worked for shorter than 2 years at their present jobs showed the lower job performance in terms of menu management and accounting management than the other groups, whereas those who worked in 'over 200 bed' hospitals showed the higher job performance in terms of sanitation and safety management than the others. The subjects who worked for longer than 6 years showed the higher job satisfaction in terms of communication and working environment than the others. Job performance showed a significant positive correlation with perception of job importance, whereas it showed no significant correlation with job satisfaction. More work experience correlated with a higher monthly income, and younger workers showed higher job performance. Younger age and more work experience at a present job correlated with a higher perception of job importance. More work experience at a present job, higher monthly income, and shorter work experience were correlated with higher job satisfaction. These results suggest that it would be effective to adopt training programs for appropriate nutrition service and provide continuous education programs for professional development.
