3.Research advance in application of metabonomics in cardiovascular diseases.
Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae 2012;34(4):413-417
Metabonomics is a systematic science that mainly studies the dynamic changes of endogenous metabolites after a biological system is stimulated or disturbed. Its application in cardiovascular diseases has increasingly been explored, with an attempt to find valuable biomarkers and explore the underlying pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases by profiling the metabolism in these patients. This article summarized recent advances in this topic and outlines prospects for future developments.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2013;42(6):705-710
Metabonomics has developed rapidly in post-genome era, and becomes a hot topic of omics. The core idea of metabonomics is to determine the metabolites of relatively low-weight molecular in organisms or cells, by a series of analytical methods such as nuclear magnetic resonance, color spectrum and mass spectrogram, then to transform the data of metabolic pattern into useful information, by chemometric tools and pattern recognition software, and to reveal the essence of life activities of the body. With advantages of high-throughput, high-sensitivity and high-accuracy, metabolomics shows great potential and value in cancer individualized treatment. This paper introduces the concept, contents and methods of metabonomics and reviews its application in cancer individualized therapy.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2005;21(1):1-5
The concept, characteristics and history of metabonomics are introduced. The techniques used in data acquisition and data analysis in metabonomics including their advantages and disadvantages are summarized. In data acquisition platform, NMR, GC/MS, LC/MS (/MS) are the prevalent techniques although at present, none of them is a perfect technique that could meet with the requirement of the metabonomics for measuring all metabolites. While in data analysis, the PCA, PLS and ANN are the major techniques. The researchers could select them according to the research destination. Recent advances and applications of metabonomics in disease diagnosis, drug toxicity evaluation, plant metabolomics and microbial metabolomics are reviewed. In addition, by giving the situation on the establishment of the related corporations, the conferences about metabonomics and proclamation of NIH roadmap the current boom of the metabonomics is reflected. It can be expected that with the development of the function genomics, metabonomics will play a major role in the discovery of the phynotype of the genome and searching for the disease diagnostic biomarkers, and it will also bring much benefit to the drug discovery, clinical diagnosis and nutrition science.

6.Preface for special issue on multi-omics frontier technologies.
Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2022;38(10):3571-3580
With wide applications of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics in the post-genome era, functional explanation has become the central task in life science research, and multi-omics data integrative analysis has become an indispensable strategy for uncovering the underlying biological mechanism. This special issue aimed to introduce the related research advances and applications in multi-omics by inviting the domestic experts. In total, 28 papers have been collected in this issue, for researcher's reference in multi-omics.
