AIM:The 50-Hz magnetic field (MF) is a potential health-risk factor. Its effects on the cardiovascular system have not been fully investigated .This study was conducted to explore the effects of long-term exposure to 50-Hz MF on the cardiovascular system . METHODS:In the study , an exposure system was constructed and the distribution of 50-Hz MF was detected .Sixty-four Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were exposed to 50-Hz MF at 100 μT for 24 weeks, 20 hours per day, while another 64 rats were sham exposed. During the exposure, blood pressure was measured every 4 weeks, and 24 weeks later, echocardiography, cardiac catheterisation and electrocardiography were performed .Moreover , heart and body weight were recorded , while haematoxylin-eosin staining and real-time PCR were conducted .RESULTS:The results showed that compared with the sham group , exposure to 50-Hz MF did not exert any effect on blood pressure, pulse rate, heart rate and cardiac rhythm.Further, echocardiography and cardiac catheterisation showed that there were no significant differences in the cardiac morphology and haemodynamics .In addition , histopathological examination showed that 50-Hz MF exposure had no effect on the structure of hearts .Finally, the expression of the cardiac hypertrophic relative genes did not show any significant differences between 50-Hz MF exposure group and the sham group .CONCLUSION: Taken together , in SD rats, exposure to 50-Hz/100-μT MF for 24 weeks did not show any obvious effects on the cardiovascular system .

Objective:To verify the determination method of iodine in serum by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and to evaluate the consistency between ICP-MS and As 3+-Ce 4+ catalytic spectrophotometry in determination of serum iodine. Methods:Serum iodine concentration was determined by ICP-MS, 187Re was used as an internal standard, and ralated parameters were optimized. Eighty-eight serum samples were simultaneously determined by ICP-MS and As 3+-Ce 4+ catalytic spectrophotometry, and the evaluation indexes included determination range of standard curve, detection limit, precision, accuracy. In addition, we also evaluated the consistency of the two methods through inter-group correlation analysis, intra-group correlation coefficient analysis, Passing-Bablok regression and Bland-Altman analysis. Results:The linear range of ICP-MS standard curve was 0 - 300 μg/L. There was a good linear correlation between iodine concentration value and iodine response value, and the correlation coefficient range was 0.999 8 to 0.999 9. The detection limit of the ICP-MS method was 1.96 μg/L. The relative standard deviation ( RSD) ranged from 0.2% to 1.4% and from 0.4% to 1.8% for intra and inter-batch precision tests of serum samples. The recovery rate ranged from 90.44% to 108.71%. The correlation analysis of 88 serum samples showed that there was a good correlation between the two methods ( r = 0.934, P < 0.05), and the intra-class correlation coefficient was 0.932. The results of Passing-Bablok regression showed that there was no significant difference between the two methods ( P > 0.05). Bland-Altman diagram suggested that the results of the two methods were consistent. Conclusions:ICP-MS method has low detection limit, high precision and accuracy. ICP-MS method is simple, rapid, easy and suitable for determination of iodine in large quantities of serum samples. The results of the two methods for determining serum iodine are consistent.

ObjectiveTo summarize the current situation, hot spots and frontiers of the application of functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) in rehabilitation in recent ten years. MethodsLiterature related to the application of fNIRS in rehabilitation was retrieved from the core collection of Web of Science from January, 2003 to December, 2022, and the visualized analysis was performed by CiteSpace 6.1.R6 software. ResultsA total of 828 literatures were included. The annual publication volume was on the rise. The most prolific author was LI Zengyong. The most published country was the United States. And the most published institution was Karolinska Institute. Hot keywords included children, stroke, activation, quality of life, cerebral palsy, etc. The hot keywords of bursting intensity included early intervention, speech perception, cerebral palsy, plasticity, spinal cord injury, physical therapy, visual feedback, Parkinson's disease, etc. Cluster analysis suggested that in the past decade, the application of fNIRS in rehabilitation involved physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, pre-rehabilitation and early rehabilitation of surgery, mainly focusing on six themes: the rehabilitation of motor dysfunction after stroke, cognitive impairment, hearing and speech dysfunction, children with cerebral palsy, cardiopulmonary function monitoring in severe diseases and long-term nursing of chronic diseases. Among them, the application of fNIRS in neurological rehabilitation of stroke patients occupied a large proportion, which might be the current research hot spot and trend. ConclusionThe application of fNIRS in rehabilitation is on the rise. In the future, more attention should be paid to the application of fNIRS in the study of the injury and recovery mechanism of neurological disorders, especially the effects of various rehabilitation interventions on cortical plasticity and the etiology of neurological disorders.

AIM: To analyze the distribution frequency of gene polymorphisms of β receptor blockers, angiotensin receptor antagonists, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, calcium antagonists, and diuretics in hypertensive patients from southern Anhui province, and provide a theoretical basis for gene detection of hypertension drugs and personalized medication. METHODS: Drug gene testing information from 839 hospitalized patients with hypertension at Yijishan Hospital of Wannan Medical College from July 2021 to April 2023 were collected, and the distribution frequency of each gene locus were analyzed. RESULTS: The genotype frequencies of ACE (I/D) I/I, I/D, and D/D were 42.1%, 46.0%, and 11.9%, respectively. the genotype frequencies of ADRB1 (1165G>C) G/G, G/C, and C/C were 8.3%, 40.0%, and 51.6%, respectively. The genotype frequencies of AGTR1 (1166A>C) A/A, A/C, and C/C were 90.2%, 9.8%, and 0.0%. The genotype frequencies of CYP2C9*3 (1075A>C) *1/*1, *1/*3, and *3/*3 were 91.3%, 8.7%, and 0.0%, respectively; the genotype frequencies of CYP2D6* 10 (100C > T) *1/*1, *1/*10, and *10/*10 were 25.0%, 36.6%, and 38.4%, respectively. The genotype frequencies of CYP3A5*3 (6986A>G) *1/*1, *1/*3, and *3/*3 were 7.0%, 39.0%, and 54.0%, respectively. The frequencies of NPPA (2238T>C) T/T, T / C, and C / C genotypes were 97.9%, 2.1%, and 0.0%, respectively. In addition, there was a significant difference in the genotype distribution frequency of multiple drug related gene loci in southern Anhui compared to other regions in China (P< 0.05). CONCLUSION: The genotype distribution frequency of hypertensive drug related gene loci had certain bias in southern Anhui, and were significant different from other regions in China, indicating that conducting genetic polymorphism testing of hypertensive drugs had certain guiding significance for the individualized application of hypertensive drugs in southern Anhui.
