1.Treatment of port wine stains with photodynamie therapy in Chinese patients
Fudan University Journal of Medical Sciences 2008;35(2):300-303
Port wine stains affect patients on either cosmetic or functional, and even psychological aspects. Although many therapeutic modalities have been applied, the effective clearance rate of this bothersome problem is still limited to some extent. Photodynamic therapy is a state-of -the-art option for patients with port wine stains. In this article, clearance rates and adverse effects of different photo-dynamic therapy measures (including photosensitizers and light sources) for Chinese patients were re-viewed.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2021;42(3):454-458
Objective:
To discuss the correlation between growth status and eating behaviors in children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), providing reference data for management and dietary behavior guidance among ADHD children.
Methods:
A total of 703 children aged 4-13 years old were collected from the ADHD patients from Children s Health Department of Children s Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from June to September, 2019. The demographic characteristics and information regarding children’s eating behaviors were collected by self-designed questionnaire and Chinese version of the parent-completed Children’s Eating Behavior Questionnaire(CEBQ). The correlation physical growth with dietary behaviors among the ADHD children were analyzed.
Results:
Food avoidant behaviors, including satiety responsiveness, slowness in eating and emotional undereating in ADHD children with thinness scored significantly higher than that of children with short stature, overweight and obesity(F=17.57, 29.32, 4.07, P<0.01), while food approach behaviors, including food responsiveness, enjoyment of food, desire to drink and emotional overeating scored higher in obese children, compared to other three groups(F=24.54, 47.44, 2.96,5.85, P<0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that, after adjusting for the confounders, satiety responsiveness, slowness in eating were still negatively associated with BMI-Z score of the ADHD children(B=-0.05, -0.07, P<0.01). Food responsiveness, enjoyment of food and emotional overeating had a positive association with the BMI-Z score(B=0.04, 0.09, 0.05, P<0.05).
Conclusion
Emotional eating and high food responsiveness in ADHD children are associated with the overweight and obesity, while long eating time and high satiety responsiveness is associated with underweight among ADHD children. For clinical doctors and parents, problematic eating behaviors among ADHD children should be concerned regarding its negative effects on growth and development, besides core symptoms of ADHD.

BACKGROUND:Internal heat-type acupuncture therapy is a new treatment technique that combines acupuncture therapy with hyperthermia. It has good clinical effects on steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head, but the mechanism of action is still not fully clear. OBJECTIVE:To explore the possible mechanism of internal heat-type acupuncture therapy in treating steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head in rabbits. METHODS:Thirty-two New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into blank group, model group, internal heat-type acupuncture group and shock wave group using a random number table method, with 8 rabbits in each group. The model group, internal heat-type acupuncture group and shock wave group were modeled using methylprednisolone sodium succinate combined with Escherichia coli endotoxin. The internal heat-type acupuncture group received an internal heat-type acupuncture intervention on the buttocks of rabbits, once a week, for 20 minutes each time. The shock wave group received shock wave intervention on the buttocks of rabbits, once a week, with 2 000 beats per session. The blank group and model group were not given any treatment. After 4 weeks of intervention, blood samples and bilateral femoral head samples were collected from experimental rabbits. The levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 in serum were detected by ELISA;the histomorphology of the femoral head was observed using hematoxylin-eosin staining and the rate of empty lacunae was calculated;the protein expressions of matrix metalloproteinase 2,matrix metalloproteinase 9,matrix metalloproteinase tissue inhibitor 1,and matrix metalloproteinase tissue inhibitor 2 were detected by immunohistochemistry and western blot. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the blank group, the model rabbits showed reduced food intake, mental fatigue, and decreased activity;compared with the model group, the above performance of the experimental rabbits was significantly improved after internal heat-type acupuncture and shock wave treatment.Compared with the blank group, the histomorphology of the femoral head in the model group deteriorated significantly and the rate of empty bone lacuna increased(P<0.001),while the histomorphology of the femoral head in the internal heat-type acupuncture group and shock wave group was significantly improved compared with the model group, and the rate of empty bone lacuna was reduced(P<0.001).The serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 in the model group were significantly higher than those in the blank group(P<0.05),while the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 in the internal heat-type acupuncture group and the shock wave group were significantly lower than those in the model group(P<0.05).Compared with the blank group, the expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase 2 and matrix metalloproteinase 9 in the femoral head of the model group were significantly increased, while the expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase tissue inhibitor 1 and matrix metalloproteinase tissue inhibitor 2 were significantly decreased(P<0.001);compared with the model group, the protein expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase 2 and matrix metalloproteinase 9 were significantly decreased, while the protein expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase tissue inhibitor 1 and matrix metalloproteinase tissue inhibitor 2 were significantly increased in the internal heat-type acupuncture group and the shock wave group(P<0.001).Overall,these findings indicate that internal heat-type acupuncture may promote the repair of the necrotic femoral head by regulating the levels of matrix metalloproteinases/matrix metalloproteinase tissue inhibitors and serum inflammatory factors, thus treating early steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head.

China Pharmacy 2024;35(14):1683-1689
OBJECTIVE To clarify the institutional logics of the dilemma of the use of national medical insurance negotiation drugs(referred to as “national negotiation drugs”), and promote the implementation and use of these drugs in medical institutions. METHODS Based on the complex institutional environment in which medical institutions were situated, the theory of multiple institutional logics was used to construct an analytical framework for the behavioral choices of medical institutions, and reveal the mechanism of the difficulty in the use of national negotiation drugs by clarifying the interaction and conflict of multiple logics in this process, so as to put forward some measures. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS There were contradictions and coupling among the state logic, market logic, social logic and professional logic in the use of national negotiation drugs. In the game of multiple logics, the market logic and professional logic tended to be risk-averse, the failed “pressure-type system” of state logic, and the social logic was weakened, which caused the lack of action in the use of national negotiation drugs with the goal of completing performance evaluations in the current medical institutions. Thus, it is suggested to unbundle the invisible policy restrictions on the use of national negotiation drugs, form the pressure and motivation of medical institutions by incentive and constraint mechanisms, respond to the clinical demand by establishing a green procurement channel, and construct the supervision mechanism on the use of national negotiation drugs by social force, etc., so as to enhance the effect of the national negotiation drugs.
