1.Progress in regulation of microglial function by CX3CL1/CX3CR1

In the central nervous system,CX3CL1 is a transmembrane chemokine expressed on neurons,and its specific receptor CX3CR1 is located on microglia.The combination of CX3CL1 and CX3CR1 is regarded as the bond of interaction between neurons and microglia.Bidirectional communication between microglia and neurons is essential for maintaining brain homeostasis and overcoming neuroinflammation,which is thought to play an important role in neurode-generative and cerebrovascular diseases.This article reviews the mechanisms of CX3CL1/CX3CR1 signaling pathway in the proliferation,metabolism,activation,polarization and regulation of synaptic plasticity of microglia,and uses this sig-naling pathway as a target to regulate the role of microglia in the disease process,which may provide a new target for the treatment of inflammation-related diseases.
2.Resveratrol alleviates ISO-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy in rat

Objective To explore the role of resveratrol (RES) on cardiomyocyte hypertrophy of rat induced by isoproternol (ISO) and the effect of Res on the expression of GRP78 and GRP94 in endoplasmic reticulum stress of cardiomyocyte hypertrophy.Methods Hypertrophic model of cardiomyocytes was induced by ISO.Cardiomyocytes was divided into four group: control group, the model group, RES+ISO group and RES group.Hypertrophy status of cardiomyocytes was determined by Leica 2Q500 image analysis system measuring the cell surface area and the gene expression of ANP.The content of LDH and MDA was measured in different groups, and the protein expressions of GRP78 and GRP94 were detected by Western blot.Results Compared with control group, ISO induced cardiomyocytes hypertrophy, endoplasmic reticulum stress related factors GRP78 and GRP94 protein expression were increased, compared with ISO group, RES intervention effectively suppressed the cardiomyocytes hyper-trophy induced by ISO, reduced the protein expression of GRP78 and GRP94, at the same time, reduced lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and malondialdehyde (MDA) release in cell medium.Conclusions Treatment of RES may protect cardiomyocytes hypertrophy, which is partially mediated by inhibiting the expression of ERS factors GRP78 and GRP94.
3.Recent advance in Spadin and its analogs in treatment of post-stroke depression

Post-stroke depression (PSD) is one kind of the common mental diseases after stroke, and the prevention and treatment of PSD are very difficult. TREK-1, a two-pore domain potassium channel, is an important target in the pathogenesis of stroke and PSD, and it is closely related to neuroprotection and emotion regulation; inhibition of activity of TREK-1 channel can exert significant antidepressant effect. In recent years, TREK-1 channel blocker Spadin and Spadin analogs are discovered, and they have a relatively significant effect on ischemic stroke and PSD. In this paper, the research progress on the discovery, efficacy and therapeutic value of Spadin and Spadin analogs in PSD are summarized as follows.
4.Prognosis analysis of 117 nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients treated by intensity modulated radiotherapy

Objective To analyse the prognosis of 117 newly diagnosed nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients underwent intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). Methods From Jan to Nov 2005, 117 NPC patients who were treated by IMRT were enrolled. There were 81 males and 36 females with a median age of 42 years (range 18-76 years). According to Chinese Fuzhou Staging system(1992), 11 cases were Stage I , 15 Stage Ⅱ, 54 Stage Ⅲ and 37 Stage ⅣA. IMRT was carried out with Peacock plan. The prescription dose to the gross target volume(GTVnx) of nasopharyngeal tumor was 68 Gy, that of positive neck lymph nodes (GTVnd) was 60-66 Gy, clinical target volume 1 (CTV1) was 60 Gy, and CTV2 was 54 Gy. Results After a median follow-up time of 48 months (range 10.5-59.5 months), the 3-and 5-year overall survival (OS) rates were 95.7 % and 89.7 %, the disease-free survival (DFS) rates were 91.5 % and 87.2%, and the local-regional control rates were 94.0 % and 91.5 %. Univariate analysis showed the KPS, stage, Fuzhou clinical stage, status of blood platelet before treatment and uric acid after treatment were correlated with OS rate. T stage was the only independent factor of prognosis in the COX stepwise regression model. Conclusion Radical IMRT significantly prolongs the survival of NPC patients. T stage is the only independent prognostic factor for NPC patients.
5.Application of the sandwich teaching method in the course of Surgical Nursing

Objective To investigate the application effect of the sandwich teaching method in the course of Surgical Nursing . Methods Two classes of the students majoring in nursing were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 36 students in each group. The students in the control group received the traditional teaching method, and those in the observation group received the sandwich teaching method . The teaching effect was compared between the two groups by theoretical assessment and questionnaire survey. SPSS 24.0 was used for analysis of variance and the t-test. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly higher scores of course assessment, learning atmosphere, and learning initiative. The observation group also had significantly higher good rates of learning atmosphere and learning initiative than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The sandwich teaching method can significantly improve students' abilities of communication and problem solving, arouse their enthusiasm of learning, and increase the interestingness of classroom, and therefore, it has a practical value in teaching.
6.Root canal system in permanent anterior teeth studied by cone beam computed tomography

Objective:To study the root canal system in permanent anterior teeth by cone-beam computer tomography(CBCT).Methods:12 85g anterior teeth in 1 103 patients were divided into group A(≤40 years) and group B(>40 years).The CBCT images of 6 404 maxillary anterior teeth and 6 454 mandibular anterior teeth were collected.The number of roots and root canals,crown-root length,the types of root canal configurations,symmetry,age-related changes and gender differences were analyzed statistically.The correlation of double root canals system in mandibular anterior teeth were compared.Results:All of the maxillary anterior teeth and mandibular incisors had only one root while 1.66% double roots were found in canines.The prevalence of double root canals in maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth were 0.03% and 11.25% respectively,that of the lateral incisors was the highest(17.40%).Type Ⅰ was the most frequent type (88.75%) in permanent anterior teeth followed by Type Ⅲ (7.07%).There was symmetrical distribution of the bilateral root canals of anterior teeth.There was no statistical significance of crown-root length among different age groups in permanent teeth (P > 0.05).The variation of the root canal rate increased gradually at the age of 18-50 years,decreased gradually after the age of 50.The incidence of double root canals was higher in males (13.12%)than in females (9.93 %) in mandibular anterior teeth.The incidence of double root canals of mandibular central incisors was positively correlated with lateral incisors and canines respectively (P <0.05).Conclusion:The root canal morphology of mandibular anterior teeth is complicated.The prevalence of double root canals is symmetic,age-related and gender difference.
7.High KHSRP expression promotes gastric adenocarcinoma metastasis:the mediating role of the JAK1/STAT3 signaling axis

Objective To investigate the regulatory effect of KHSRP on progression of gastric adenocarcinoma and the role of the JAK1/STAT3 signaling axis in mediating its effect.Methods KHSRP mRNA expression level was detected using qRT-PCR in 120 pairs of gastric adenocarcinoma and adjacent tissues,4 gastric adenocarcinoma cell lines(MKN-28,HGC-27,CRL-5822,and SNU-1)and normal human gastric mucosal GES-1 cells.In HGC-27 cells with KHSRP knockdown and SNU-1 cells with KHSRP overexpression,cell proliferation,migration,invasion and expression levels of JAK/STAT were evaluated using CCK-8 assay,Transwell migration and invasion assays,and Western blotting.In BALB/c-nude mice,HGC-27 cells with KHSRP knockdown and SNU-1 cells overexpressing KHSRP were injected either subcutaneous or via the tail vein to observe subcutaneous xenograft growth and lung metastasis of the tumor cells.Results Gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and cell lines all showed significantly increased KHSRP expression as compared with the adjacent tissues and GES-1 cells.In HGC-27 cells,KHSRP knockdown significantly inhibited cell proliferation,migration and invasion,while KHSRP overexpression enhanced the malignant behaviors of SNU-1 cells.In nude mice,inoculation of HGC-27 cells with KHSRP knockdown resulted in smaller tumor volume and weight,slower cell proliferation rate and fewer lung metastatic foci,and KHSRP-overexpressing SNU-1 cells produced the opposite results.KHSRP knockdown in HGC-27 cells significantly down-regulated the expression levels of JAK1 and STAT3,which were obviously increased in KHSRP-overexpressing SNU-1 cells.Conclusion High expressions of KHSRP promote progression and metastasis of gastric adenocarcinoma possibly by regulating the JAK1/STAT3 signaling axis.
8.Associations of toluidine red unheated serum test response to the treatment of syphilis in pregnancy and congenital syphilis: a 10-year real-world study

Background::So far, there is a paucity of real-world data on the syphilis serological responses to the first-line treatment during pregnancy, and there is no relevant study on the necessity of anti-syphilis treatment during pregnancy for those patients who have been treated for syphilis before pregnancy for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission, which might provide valuable insight into treatment effectiveness and optimal management of pregnant women with syphilis.Methods::A retrospective study on 10 years of real-world data was performed for accumulative 410 Chinese pregnant women with syphilis. The descriptive statistics were conducted in the study, and toluidine red unheated serum test (TRUST) titer responses to penicillin treatment in syphilis-infected pregnant women, and the associations with congenital syphilis were investigated. We divided the patients into two groups according to the history of anti-syphilis treatment before pregnancy (patients diagnosed with syphilis who had received anti-syphilis treatment before pregnancy, and patients screened and diagnosed with syphilis during pregnancy who had no previous history of anti-syphilis treatment).Results::The rate of congenital syphilis in this study was 6.2% (25/406). There was no significant difference in the rate of congenital syphilis between patients who received anti-syphilis treatment before pregnancy and those who did not. Secondary syphilis and high baseline serum TRUST titer (≥1:8) in pregnant women were independent risk factors for congenital syphilis.Conclusions::For the prevention of congenital syphilis, anti-syphilis treatment during pregnancy for syphilis seropositive pregnant women is needed, regardless of whether the patient has received anti-syphilis treatment before pregnancy, especially for those patients with secondary syphilis or high baseline serum TRUST titer, thus, timely surveillance, early diagnosis to timely treatment, and close syphilis reexamination during posttreatment follow-up, may help to reduce the above-mentioned risk factors for congenital syphilis.
