Objective To investigate the effect of resveratrol (RSV) on epithelial-mesenchymal transition of MDA-MB-231 cells by down-regulating POLD1 expression. Methods CCK-8 was used to detect the effect of RSV on the activity of MDA-MB-231 cells. POLD1-OE and POLD1-NC cell lines were constructed by transfecting MDA-MB-231 cells with recombinant lentivirus. Western blot was used to detect the expression of POLD1, E-cadherin, N-cadherin and Vimentin after RSV treatment. Transwell invasion experiment and the scratch test were used to detect the cells invasion and migration abilities of each experimental group. Results RSV could significantly inhibit the survival of MDA-MB-231 cells, reduce the expression of POLD1, N-cadherin and Vimentin, increase the expression of E-cadherin, and inhibit the abilities of cell invasion and migration. Increasing the POLD1 expression could reduce the above-mentioned biological effects of RSV on MDA-MB-231 cells. Conclusion RSV could significantly inhibit the viability and EMT of MDA-MB-231 cells by down-regulating the expression of POLD1.

Objective:
To explore the association between greenness surrounding school and aggression among primary school students, and to explore the potential mediating roles of social support, loneliness, particulate matter (PM2.5) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) in this association, in order to provide a scientific reference for preventing and ameliorating aggressive behaviors of primary school students.
Methods:
The data was used from a survey of children and adolescents conducted in 2015. The Chinese version of the Buss-Warren Aggression Questionnaire was used to assess total and subtypes of aggression, and the mean values of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) of 100 m, 500 m, 1 000 m circular buffers surrounding school were used to indicate the participants greenness exposure. PM2.5 and NO2 datas were obtained from the China High Air Pollutants Dataset.Generalized Linear Mixed Models were used to assess the associations of greenness surrounding school with total and subtypes of aggression.
Results:
Per IQR increment of NDVI-500 m [OR(95%CI)=1.09(1.03-1.15)] and NDVI-1 000 m[OR(95%CI)=1.07(1.02-1.13)] were positively correlated with physical aggression among primary school children, and per IQR increment of NDVI-100 m [OR(95%CI)=0.94(0.90-0.99)], NDVI-500 m [OR(95%CI)=0.93(0.89-0.98)] and NDVI-1 000 m [OR(95%CI)=0.95(0.91-1.00)] were negatively associated with verbal aggression (P<0.05). Mediation analyses revealed that social support partially mediated the association between the NDVI-500 m and physical aggression (mediation ratio:18.0%) and verbal aggression (mediation ratio:-8.3%) among primary school students, and loneliness partially mediated the association between the NDVI-500 m and physical aggression and verbal aggression among elementary school students effects, with proportion mediated ratios of -10.0% and 21.0%, respectively (P<0.05).
Conclusions
Exposure to school surrounding greenness is likely to associated with physical aggression and verbal aggression in primary school students, and social support and loneliness may partially mediate these associations.

Objective To identify the risk factors of corneal endothelial cell injury caused by phacoemulsification, so as to provide the evidence for formulating interventions for prevention of corneal endothelial cell injury among cataract patients. Methods A total 248 eyes from 212 cataract patients that underwent phacoemulsification were selected as study subjects. The associations of subjects’ age, gender, left/right eye, pupillary diameter, grades of lens nucleus hardness, duration of phacoemulsification, total ultrasound energy, total infusion fluid amount with endothelial cell loss were evaluated using univariate analysis, and the independent risk factors for corneal endothelial cell injury caused by phacoemulsification were identified using multiple linear regression analysis. Results The density of endothelial cells was (2282.4 ± 412.16) cells/mm2 prior to phacoemulsification and (1921.77 ± 125.46) cells/mm2 months after phacoemulsification in 239 affected eyes, and the proportion of endothelial hexagonal cells was (54.41 ± 7.22)% prior to phacoemulsification and (45.62 ± 3.58)% months after phacoemulsification (χ2 = 5.43, P < 0.05). The incidence of corneal endothelial cell injury was 15.5% in 239 affected eyes. Univariate analysis showed that advanced age, small pupillary diameter, long duration of phacoemulsification, high grades of lens nucleus hardness and high total ultrasound energy were associated with endothelial cell loss, while gender and surgical eyes (left or right eye) were not associated with endothelial cell loss. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that high grades of lens nucleus hardness, high total infusion fluid amount, long duration of phacoemulsification and high total ultrasound energy were independent risk factors for endothelial cell loss. Conclusions Lens nucleus hardness, high totalinfusion fluid amount, long duration of phacoemulsification and high total ultrasound energy are independent risk factors for endothelial cell loss caused by phacoemulsification.

Objective:To explore the change in cerebral blood flow when healthy subjects swallow hot and ice water, and to verify the sensitivity of functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) in identifying liquid temperatures while swallowing as a basis for applying it in diagnosis and intervention. Methods:Sixteen healthy subjects swallowed hot and ice water in randomized order while the process was recorded using fNIRS. The activation at rest and when swallowing hot and ice water was compared pairwise. Results:Compared with the resting state, 19 channels were activated during the swallowing of the hot and ice water. The common activated areas were S1, M1, PMC, SMA, Wernicke′s area, the somatosensory association cortex, the visual association cortex and the frontal eye field. However, the dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex was activated only when swallowing hot water, and the subcentral area was activated only when swallowing ice water. The SMA and PMC were significantly more activated when swallowing hot water than ice water. Conclusions:Multiple brain regions are activated and participate in regulating swallowing. The PMC and SMA areas can distinguish hot water from ice water swallowing.

ObjectiveTo explore the underlying mechanism of Bushen Huatan prescription in alleviating postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) by maintaining the balance of osteogenesis and adipogenic differentiation in ovariectomized rats with osteoporosis. MethodSeventy-five 6-month-old non-pregnant female SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group, model group, atorvastatin group, liviol group, and Bushen Huatan prescription group. Bilateral ovaries were removed in the four groups except the sham-operation group, while only the same mass of adipose tissue around the ovaries was removed in the sham-operation group. On the 5th week after surgery, drugs were consecutively administrated for 8 weeks. Rats in the Bushen Huatan prescription group received 9.4 mg·kg-1 of the prescription, rats in the atorvastatin group received 0.92 mg·kg-1 of atorvastatin, rats in the Liviol group received 0.23 mg·kg-1 of liviol, and rats in the model group and the sham-operation group received saline once a day. Micro-computed tomography (Micro CT) was used to detect bone mineral density (BMD) of rat tibia in each group. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was used to detect the relative area of rat bone marrow adipose tissue (BMAT) in each group. Real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR) and Western blot were used to detect the relative expression levels of Runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPARγ), leptin (LPN), and leptin receptor (OBR) in bone tissues. ResultAs compared with the sham operation group, the BMD of rats in the model group decreased (P<0.05), while the relative area of BMAT increased (P<0.05). In addition, the expression levels of LPN, OBR, and Runx2 decreased in the model group (P<0.05), while the level of PPARγ increased (P<0.05). As compared with the model group, the BMD of rats in the atorvastatin group, the Livial group, and the Bushen Huatan prescription group increased (P<0.05), and the relative area of BMAT decreased (P<0.05). The expression levels of LPN, OBR, and Runx2 in these groups increased (P<0.05), while the expression level of PPARγ decreased (P<0.05). ConclusionBushen Huatan prescription plays the anti-osteoporosis role in the rat model of PMOP through up-regulating LPN and OBR in bone tissues and maintaining the balance of osteogenesis and adipogenic differentiation, thereby reducing postmenopausal bone loss and playing a role in the prevention and treatment of PMOP.
