AIM:To explore the production and cytotoxicity of the reactive oxygen species(ROS)induced by diallyl trisulfide(DATS)in HL-60 cells.METHODS:HL-60 cells were either treated with various doses of DATS alone,or DATS combination with apocynin,a specific NADPH oxidase inhibitor,or with antioxidant N-acetyl-L-cysteine(NAC)for 0,1,3,6,12 and 24 h,respectively. The intracellular ROS level was measured by flow cytometry. The activity of NADPH oxidase was evaluated by NBT reduction experiment. The content of both malondialdehyde(MDA)and the protein carbonyl were analyzed by spectrophotometer.RESULTS:The results from flow cytometry indicated that DATS significantly increased the intracellular ROS level in HL-60 cells(P

Epigallo-catechingallate(EGCG),the most abundant polyphenol and important active ingredient in green tea,is widely studied in cancer prevention and treatment. It has demonstrated various anti-cancer activities in vitro and in vivo, including induction of apoptosis, as well as inhibition of tumor cell invasion, migration, and angiogenesis.EGCG has been in the clinical stage of drug development with some findings currently available. In the present review,we systematically summarize the research advances of EGCG in cancer treatment through collection of global clinical trials and related results and discuss its safety, research efficacy, and critical challenges.

The current situation of tumor radiotherapy teaching is far behind the development of radiotherapy technologies. The construction of a teaching system based on an artificial intelligence-powered automatic target delineation system and a standardized cancer radiotherapy case library is operable and practical for realizing the standardization and homogenization of clinical target volume delineation teaching, improving students' precision and speed of target volume delineation, and promoting students' learning interest, initiative, and efficiency, which can bring new vitality to the development of radiotherapy education and is worthy of further exploration and promotion.

Through systematic review of literature, Delphi expert consultation and expert discussion meeting, the Nursing expert consensus on application of cardiopulmonary resuscitation machine in treating patients with in- hospital cardiac arrest was formulated. Finally, 8 parts of the application specifications including evaluation before boarding, cooperation during boarding, detection and management after boarding, cooperation during weaning, quality control and training, and fault handling were formed, in order to provide guidance and reference for the application of cardiopulmonary resuscitation machine in treating patients with in-hospital cardiac arrest.

Objective To investigate the relationship between tooth loss and the occurrence of esophageal cancer in a natural village in Wenfeng District, Anyang City, Henan Province. Methods A prospective cohort study was conducted to observe the occurrence of tooth loss and esophageal cancer among the asymptomatic residents of the natural village for 16 years from January 2008 to July 2024. Data were analyzed by chi-square test, binary logistic regression, and restricted cubic spline. Results Among the total population of 711 cases, 136 cases were lost to follow-up and 575 cases were included in the final statistics, including 45 cases with esophageal cancer. Significant statistical difference was found between esophageal cancer patients with and without tooth loss (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that tooth loss was associated with the occurrence of esophageal cancer (OR=3.977, 95%CI: 1.543-10.255). After the adjustment for confounders, tooth loss
