Objective To investigate the infection of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in host animals and inapparent infection of HFRS in general population in Dongting Lake areas after floods. Methods The night trapping method was used to capture rodents. The immunofluorescence assays were used to detect the hantavirus (HV) antigens and antibodies in rodents lung and in the serum of general population. Nonconditional logistic regression was applied to analyze risk factors for inapparent infection with HV. Results In flood region,draw-near flood region and new migration region, rodent density was 6.95%,6.28%, and 8.67%, respectively, and the virus-carrying rate in rodents was 15.07%,9.25%, and 4.47%, respectively. The virus-carrying rat index was the highest in flood region (0.10). Apodemus agrarius was the dominant species. The standardized positive rate of HV antibody in general population from above mentioned regions was 4.49%, 3.11%, and 3.13%, respectively. There was no significant difference among different age or gender groups. The results of logistic regression analysis indicated that people who were involved in construction of water conservancy facilities in winter or practice of rat extermination at home were the principal factors related to inapparent infection with HV. Conclusion The virus-carrying rate in main host animals of HV in the 3 regions is high, whereas the positive rate of HV antibody is low in general population. Comprehensive measures should be taken to prevent and control HFRS, such as reinforcing surveillance of HFRS, strengthening deratization, and preventive inoculation.

Objective To study the effect of atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP)deletion on melanoma growth. Methods A subcutaneous xenotransplanted melanoma model was established in ANP knockout mice and C57BL/6J mice. The tumor volume was measured at the sixth day after establishment of the subcutaneous transplantation. Tumor cell proliferation and tumor-induced angiogenesis were detected by immunohistochemical staining. Results The volume and weight of xenotransplanted melanoma were significantly decreased in the ANP knockout mice compared with those in the C57BL/6J mice. The proliferative tumor cells and microvessel density were significantly decreased in the tumor tissues of ANP knockout mice compared with those in the C57BL/6J mice. Conclusions ANP deletion significantly suppresses xenotransplanted melanoma growth through inhibiting the tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis.

Objective To investigate the role of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) in lung metastasis of melanoma. Methods Melanoma B16F10 cells were intravenously injected into ANP knockout mice and C57BL/6J mice. After three weeks, the mice were sacrificed, and the lungs were removed, embedded, and examined by pathology using HE staining. The numbers of metastatic foci on the lung surface and micrometastatic foci in the lung tissues were counted. Results The ANP knockout mice displayed fewer metastatic foci on the lung surface and less micrometastatic foci in the lung tissues of ANP knockout mice than in the C57BL/6J mice. Conclusions ANP deletion significantly suppresses the metastasis of melanoma in the lung of mice.

Objective? To understand the current situation of hospital infection related knowledge-attitude-behavior among practice nursing students. Methods? From 1st October 2018 to 31th October 2018, we selected 73 practice nursing students at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Chaoyang Hospital and Tongren Hospital as subjects by convenience sampling. All of the students were investigated with the self-designed hospital infection knowledge-attitude-behavior questionnaire. Results? The average scores of items in knowledge dimension, attitude dimension and behavior dimension were (0.55±0.17), (3.30±0.59) and (3.29±0.44). There was a correlation between attitude and behavior of hospital infection among practice nursing students (r=-0.342, P<0.05). Conclusions? Practice nursing students lack hospital infection related knowledge and their attitudes are irresolute, however their behavior is good. Hospital managers should increase related curriculums and provide pre-job training. Besides, teachers should make themselves an example to improve knowledge-attitude-behavior of students.

Depression is a major mood disorder. Abnormal expression of glial glutamate transporter-1 (GLT-1) is associated with depression. Schisantherin B (STB) is one bioactive of lignans isolated from Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill which has been commonly used as a traditional herbal medicine for thousands of years. This paper was designed to investigate the effects of STB on depressive mice induced by forced swimming test (FST). Additionally, we also assessed the impairment of FST on cognitive function in mice with different ages. FST and open field test (OFT) were used for assessing depressive symptoms, and Y-maze was used for evaluating cognition processes. Our study showed that STB acting as an antidepressant, which increased GLT-1 levels by promoting PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. Although the damage is reversible, short-term learning and memory impairment caused by FST test is more serious in the aged mice, and STB also exerts cognition improvement ability in the meanwhile. Our findings suggested that STB might be a promising therapeutic agent of depression by regulating the GLT-1 restoration as well as activating PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.

Objective To observe the value of MRI texture features combined with apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)for differentiating uterine sarcoma(US)and cellular uterine leiomyoma(CUL).Methods Pelvic MRI data of 27 US patients(US group)and 34 CUL patients(CUL group)were retrospectively analyzed. The texture features of lesions were extracted from T2WI and diffusion weighted imaging(DWI),the ADC value were measured, and the average ADC value(ADCmean),the minimum ADC value(ADCmin)and standard ADC value(ADCst)were recorded. Then logistic regression(LR)models were constructed based on ADC value, optimal texture features alone and their combination, respectively, including LRADC,LRtexture and LRADC+texture models.Receiver operating characteristic curves were drawn, and the area under the curves(AUC)were calculated to evaluate the efficacy of each model for differentiating US and CUL.Results The ADCmean,ADCmin and ADCst in US group were all lower than those in CUL group(all P<0.05).A total of 3 750 texture features were extracted from pelvic T2WI and DWI,5 optimal features were finally obtained, and the constructed LRADC+texture model and LRtexture model had similar efficacy of differentiating US and CUL(AUC=0.921,0.887;P>0.05),which were both higher than that of LRADC model(AUC=0.696;both P<0.05).The calibration curve of LRADC+texture model was basically consistent with the ideal curve, which had better clinical benefits than LRADC and LRtexture models. Conclusion MRI texture features combined with ADC value could improve efficacy for differentiating US and CUL.

Objective:To investigate the prospective association of sleep duration with the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults in Suzhou. Methods:The study used the data of 53 269 participants aged 30-79 years recruited in the baseline survey from 2004 to 2008 and the follow-up until December 31, 2017 of China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) conducted in Wuzhong District, Suzhou. After excluding participants with airflow limitation, self-reported chronic bronchitis/emphysema/coronary heart disease history at the baseline survey and abnormal or incomplete data, a total of 45 336 participants were included in the final analysis. The association between daily sleep duration and the risk for developing COPD was analyzed by using a Cox proportional hazard regression model, and the hazard ratio ( HR) values and their 95% CI were calculated. The analysis was stratified by age, gender and lifestyle factors, and cross-analysis was conducted according to smoking status and daily sleep duration. Results:The median follow-up time was 11.12 years, with a total of 515 COPD diagnoses in the follow-up. After adjusting for potential confounders, multifactorial Cox proportional hazard regression analysis showed that daily sleep duration ≥10 hours was associated with higher risk for developing COPD ( HR=1.42, 95% CI: 1.03-1.97). The cross analysis showed that excessive daily sleep duration increased the risk for COPD in smokers ( HR=2.49, 95% CI: 1.35-4.59, interaction P<0.001). Conclusion:Longer daily sleep duration (≥10 hours) might increase the risk for COPD in adults in Suzhou, especially in smokers.
