Objective To observe the effect Azithromycin injection in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia ( MPP) in children. Methods Forty-four children of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia were randomly divided into two groups, the Azithromycin group ( treat by Azithromycin, made by Pfizer) and the control group (treat by domestic Azithromycin) respectively. Improvement in symptoms and signs between the two groups were observed and compared. Results There were 25 cases in the Azithromycin group, of which, after a week, 17 cases cured,2 cases got better significantly and 6 cases got better. The effective ratio was 76. 00% ( 19/25 ). There were 19 cases in the control group, of which 5 cases cured, 9 cases got better significantly ,4 cases got better and 1 case no change. The effective ratio was 73. 68% (14/19). There was no statistical significance in the effective ratio between the two groups ( x2 = 0. 03, P > 0. 05). However, the Azithromycin group was superior to the control group both in the one week cure rate (t = 7.50,P< 0.05) and on defervescence time (t = 34. 05, P < 0. 05 ) and rales disappearance (t = 2. 39, P < 0. 05 ). Conclusion Azithromycin injection is more effective than domestic Azithromycin in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, especially in the aspect of improving symptoms.

The presence of insufficient bone volume affects the implant healing and success. The aim of this study was to evaluate osteogenic capacity of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) on micro-arc oxidation (MAO) titanium surface. DPSCs were challenged at MAO and smooth titanium surface separately for different durations, and the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) served as the positive controls. The osteogenic capacity of DPSCs on MAO titanium surface was assessed by using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, biochemical tests and real-time quantitative PCR. Data showed that DPSCs differentiated into osteoblasts and expressed bone morphogenetic genes on MAO titanium surface. The results of this study revealed that DPSCs had good potential to generate mineralized tissue on MAO titanium plates. The differential potential of DPSCs may be regulated by MAO titanium surface. The osteogenesis potential of DPSCs on the MAO titanium was similar with BMSCs.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2020;37(7):736-738
OBJECTIVE:
To explore the genetic basis of a Chinese patient featuring global developmental delay.
METHODS:
Peripheral venous blood samples from the proband and his parents and sister were taken for the extraction of DNA. Target capture and next generation sequencing was carried out to detect genetic variants associated with the disease. Suspected variant was validated by Sanger sequencing.
RESULTS:
Genetic testing discovered that the proband has carried hemizygous c.150G>T and c.150+1G>T variants of the KDM5C gene which are inherited from his mother. His younger sister also carried the variants. The c.150+1G>A variant was unreported previously, which has altered a splice site and was predicted to be pathogenic by bioinformatics analysis.
CONCLUSION
The hemizygous c.150+1G>T variant of the KDM5C gene, known to underlie X-linked Claes-Jensen type syndromic mental retardation, probably accounts for the disorder in the patient. Identification of this variant has enriched the variant spectrum of the KDM5C gene.
