Microwave ablation,as a minimally invasive therapy, causes focal hyperthermic injury to ablated tumors. It also induces anti-tumor immunity which could contribute to another mechanism of tumor destruction.Combination with immunotherapy could further enhance the tumor-specific immunity, lead to stronger inhibitory effects on both primary and metastatic lesions and decrease recurrence and metastasis. Thus, combination of microwave ablation and immunotherapy is a promising approach in the treatment of solid tumors, especially for advanced cancers. This article reviews recent advances in the mechanism and application of immune effect induced by microwave ablation.

Objective To examine among preschool children the validity, reliability and sensitivity of a new assessment tool of Mandarin sentence recognition in babble noise, consisting of twenty-seven equivalent lists, as well as to investigate the effect of age and gender on children's speech recognition. Methods Fifty-four normalhearing children aged 4 to 6 years were recruited from Beijing and were divided into three age groups (4~, 4.5~,and 5.0~6.0 years) containing 18 children each, half boys and half girls. According to randomized split-plot design, we examined their speech recognition ability with 27 sentence-in-babble-noise lists in a sound-treated booth in a kindergarten (ambient noise <40 dB). The sentences were presented at fixed intensity of 65 dB SPL, paired with competing babble noise at three different signal to noise ratios (SNR= +1, -2, -5 dB) by the same loudspeaker with 0° azimuth. Speech recognition score were calculated based on the children's repetition of keySNR functions exhibited that the threshold was -1.96±0. 19 dB SNR and the slope was 15.8%±1.1%/dB for of variance and Post- Hoc Scheffe test indicated that significant differences in performance were most pronounced between the 4~ year group and the other two groups (P<0.001), while there was no significant difference between 4.5~ year group and 5.0~6. 0 year group (P=0. 90). The girls' performance was also significantly better than boys' (P<0. 001). Conclusion The 27 lists of Mandarin speech recognition in babble noise were equivalent among children, and the sensitivity of performance versus SNR was 15.8%/dB. Both of them were below the adult averchildren aged 4.5~ up years. Even though the performance differed between boys and girls, the difference was relatively small compared to 24.6%, the critical difference as the reliability indicator.
4. Current Research on Epidemiology of Helicobacter pylori Antimicrobial Resistance
Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2019;24(1):47-50
The resistance rate of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) to antimicrobial drugs increases year by year, which is the key factor for the decreased Hp eradication rate. Formulating an empirical regimen for Hp eradication based on an understanding of the dynamic epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance of Hp in the region will improve the eradication rate of Hp efficiently. The resistance rates of Hp to antimicrobial drugs are diversified in different geographic regions, population and time. This article reviewed the resistance rates of Hp to seven currently most frequently used antimicrobial drugs.

Objective To investigate the effect of geraniin on expression of Wnt3a protein and mRNA in bone marrow stromal cell (BMSC) from osteoporotic rats. Methods The model of osteoporosis (OP) was duplicated by ovariectomy in rats. BMSCs were isolated and cultured. BMSCs from shamed rats were routinly cultured and taken as normal control, and BMSCs from OP rats were divided into model group, 1μmol/L simvastatin positive group, and geraniin group (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, 100 μmol/L), respectively. The methods of realtime-PCR and western blot were used to assay the protein and mRNA expression of wnt3a, respectively. Results As compared with normal control group, the protein and mRNA expression of wnt3a in model group were significantly suppressed;Compared with model group, 1 μmol/L simvastatin, and 0.1, 1, 10 and 100 μmol/L geraniin significantly increased the expression of wnt3a protein and mRNA. Conclusion It is suggested that geraniin activates wnt/β-catenin pathway though increasing the expression of signaling protein wnt 3a in BMSCs from OP rats. It would be beneficial to osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs and osteogenesis.

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and influencing factors of primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS) combined with hypercoagulability in children. Methods The clinical data of 57 children with primary PNS were analyzed retrospectively. The clinical features and treatment were compared among high coagulation state group, non high coagulation state group and control group (20 children). At the same time, the differences between the simple nephrotic syndrome group (SNS) and nephritic syndrome group (NNS) in hypercoagulable state were analyzed. In addition, the correlation analysis was performed. Results Among 57 patients, there were 50 patients in high coagulation state group and 7 in non high coagulation state group. There was no significant difference in gender, age and clinical manifestations between two groups (P>0.05). The platelet (PLT) count, platelet aggregation (PCT), albumin (Alb), fibrinogen (Fib), D-dimer (D2) were significantly higher than those in the control group, and there were statistically significant differences (P all<0.01). There were significant differences in the levels of PLT, Fib, D2 and complement C4 between hypercoagulable state group and non hypercoagulable state group (P all<0.05). There were significant differences in HCT, TC, LDL, PT and complement C3 levels between SNS group (n = 32) and NNS group (n =18) in 50 patients with high coagulation state (P<0.05). There was positive correlation between HCT and complement C3 (r=0.30, P<0.05), while there was no correlation between PLT and other indices (P>0.05). All of the 57 patients were improved and has no thrombosis after the treatment. Conclusion Children with primary PNS were usually associated with different degrees of hypercoagulable state, and PLT, Fib, D2 could be used as reference indices for the severity of hypercoagulable state, and the activation of complement system might be related to the occurrence and development of hypercoagulable state.
