1.Uterine natural killer cells and pregnancy
Journal of Chinese Physician 2016;18(9):1429-1431
Uterine natural killer cells (uNK) are distinct from peripheral blood NK (pbNK) cells, which constitute up to 70% of the decidual leukocyte population in the first half of pregnancy, and are considered to have a cytokine-secreting role rather than cytotoxic function. It plays an important role in trophoblast invasion and uterine spiral artery remodeling. As a result of imbalance of uNK cells, pathological pregnancy appeared.Herein, the origin of uNK cells and its function in pregnancy were veviewed.

3.Evaluation of Left Atrial Function Changes in Peripartum Cardiomyopathy Using Two-dimensional Speckle Tracking Imaging
Journal of China Medical University 2015;(7):581-584
Objective To evaluate the changes of left atrial(LA)function in peripartum cardiomyopathy(PPCM)patients using two?dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography(2DSTE). Methods Totally 35 PPCM patients and 35 healthy postpartum women(control group)were en?rolled in this study. Left ventricular end?diastolic diameter(LVEDd)and LA anteroposterior dimension(LAAD)were measured. The end?diastol?ic volume(EDV)and end?systolic volume(ESV)were obtained using biplane modified Simpson′s method. Cardiac output(CO)and left ventricu?lar ejection fraction(LVEF)were also calculated. E wave and A wave of mitral valve were measured, and correspondingly E/A ratio were obtained. LA longitudinal systolic strain(SS),systolic strain rate(s?SR),early diastolic strain rate(e?SR),and late diastolic strain rate(a?SR)were ob?tained by 2DSTE. Results There was no statistical difference of E wave between the two groups(P>0.05). Compared to the normal control group, LVEDd,EDV,ESV,LAAD,E/A were increased, while CO,LVEF,A,SS,s?SR,e?SR,a?SR were decreased in the PPCM group(P<0.05). a?SR was positively correlated with A wave in patients with PPCM(r=0.775,P=0.001). Conclusion LA reservoir, conduit and booster pump func?tion were decreased during PPCM. 2DSTE can easily and accurately assess these changes of LA function.

We report the management and maternal and neonatal outcomes of four cases of delayed interval delivery after cervical cerclage in twin pregnancies, who hospitalized in Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital from year 2017 to 2018. Four patients with dichorionic diamniotic twin pregnancies all presented with gradually weakened uterine contractions after spontaneous vaginal delivery of twin 1. After informed consent, the patients received cervical cerclage at 2 to 3 days after delivery when the maternal and fetal conditions were stable, to delay delivery of twin 2. The gestational weeks at delivery of twin 1 were 25 +4, 23 +1, 27 +1, and 23 weeks, which were noted for 30 +1, 32 +6, 31 +4, and 24 weeks for twin 2, respectively. Delayed delivery intervals were 32, 69, 31 and 7 d. Three of the four twin 2 survived, with Apgar score ≥ 8 at 1 minute and birth weight of 1 390, 2 290 and 1 620 g. During a 2-year follow-up, no developmental abnormalities were observed in the children, and no serious maternal complications were found, including severe infection, bleeding or cervical laceration.

BACKGROUND: Previous studies demonstrated that freeze-drying had great influence on internal heat transfer, such as pore distribution and void connectivity, however, the mechanisms involved in heat and mass transfer during drying is poorly understood.OBJECTIVE: Based on the previous studies, micro CT was served as analytical tool, to observe the movement characteristics of sublimation interface in freeze-drying process.METHODS: With aorta of pig, micro-CT scanning, image reconstruction and the technique of grey value analysis were used to observe and analyze the sublimation process in freeze-drying. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The slope of freeze-drying temperature curve was large at first, causing quick sublimation rate. The grey value of freeze-drying and ice crystal area was very different in second-dimensional cross-sectional reconstructed image.Sublimation interface was clear and sublimation took place simultaneously both in the outer'surface and inner surface. The movement of sublimation interface was obvious at this time. Along with the time, the slope of freeze-drying temperature curve became small, leading to slow sublimation rate. The movement of sublimation interface turned unciearly. For the vertically placed artery, when heated at the bottom, the sublimation takes place both in the outer surface and inner surfaceat the same time. The sublimation interface slowly approaches to the middle of vessel wall. With time prolonged, resistance for heat and mass transfer in freeze-drying is increased, and the sublimation rate becomes slowly.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;30(6):1254-1289
Pig aortic vessels were processed by vacuum freeze-drying and then the aotic vessels were scanned and compared by CT, microscopic and texture analyzer. These processes presented a new method for preserving the vessels. Morphological changes of the vessels were tracked by Micro-CT, and mechanical properties were compared by texture analyzer combining with microscopic observation for structures and tissues. Results showed that the wall of the vessels became thinner by freeze-drying. After rehydration, the membrane structure was generally maintained, and the elastic fibers were more orderly arranged so that they were close to fresh vessels. In the area of mechanical property, the maximum puncture stress and axial tensile stress of rehydrated blood vessels were stronger than that of the fresh, while circumferential tensile stress was weaker than that of the fresh. Finally, analysis also showed that the freeze-dried vessel was basically remained the original morphological structure. The pores in vessel fiber and stratification during drying may be beneficial to the host cell invasion and angiogenesis, so it is expected to be a new effective means to save the blood vessels. Currently, four pigs have been transplanted with the rehydrated vessels, and all of the four have survived for more than 3 weeks.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2010;19(8):708-710
Objective To compare the effect of active compression-decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation(ACD-CPR) with standard- cardiopulmonary resuscitation(S-CPR) on ventricular function in a canine ventricular fibrillation model. Methods Ventricular fibrillation was induced in anesthetized and instrumented canine. Twenty-four dogs were randomly assigned to either ACD-CPR group or S-CPR group. After 4 minutes of untreated VF,two-dimension echocardiography was used to evaluate the left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of every canine of the two groups when they were undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Results During ventricular fibrillation, both ACD-CPR group and S-CPR group showed decreased LVEDV compared with pre-ventricular fibrillation, but not statistically significant( P >0.05).LVEDV was increased in ACD-CPR group compared with S-CPR group, but not statistically significant (P> 0. 05). Both ACD-CPR group and S-CPR group showed significantly increased LVESV compared with pre-ventricular fibrillation,of which the difference was statistically significant ( P <0. 001). Both ACD-CPRgroup and S-CPR group showed significantly decreased LVEF compared with pre-ventricular fibrillation,of which the difference was statistically significant (P <0. 001). LVEF was increased in ACD-CPR group compared with S-CPR group,of which the difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.019). Conclusions Compared with S-CPR,ACD-CPR resulted in higher LVEF.
