Objective To study the antitumour, immunomodulating and enterobacteria regulating effects of exopolysaccharides (EPS). Method The suppressive rate of growth of sarcoma 180, the index of immunity, and the intestinal microflora were determined. Results (1) EPS inhibited the growth of sarcoma 180 by oral for BALB/c mice significantly. The suppressive rate at the dose of 120mg/kg bw?d was 42.7%. (2) At the dose of 120mg/kg bw?d the index of thymus and IL-2 in serum increased significantly. There was increasing trend in respect of TNF-? and killing activation of NK cell. (3) The amounts of Lactobacillus in groups treated with EPS increased significantly, and the amounts of Enterobacteriacea and Enterococcus droped significantly. Conclusion EPS had the antitumour effect in vivo, and could modulate the immune function, improve the microbial balance in the intestinal tract of tumour bearing mice to some extent. So the antitumour mechanism was probably correlated with the immunomodulating effect.

We report the management and maternal and neonatal outcomes of four cases of delayed interval delivery after cervical cerclage in twin pregnancies, who hospitalized in Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital from year 2017 to 2018. Four patients with dichorionic diamniotic twin pregnancies all presented with gradually weakened uterine contractions after spontaneous vaginal delivery of twin 1. After informed consent, the patients received cervical cerclage at 2 to 3 days after delivery when the maternal and fetal conditions were stable, to delay delivery of twin 2. The gestational weeks at delivery of twin 1 were 25 +4, 23 +1, 27 +1, and 23 weeks, which were noted for 30 +1, 32 +6, 31 +4, and 24 weeks for twin 2, respectively. Delayed delivery intervals were 32, 69, 31 and 7 d. Three of the four twin 2 survived, with Apgar score ≥ 8 at 1 minute and birth weight of 1 390, 2 290 and 1 620 g. During a 2-year follow-up, no developmental abnormalities were observed in the children, and no serious maternal complications were found, including severe infection, bleeding or cervical laceration.

Objective To compare the effect of active compression-decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation(ACD-CPR) with standard- cardiopulmonary resuscitation(S-CPR) on ventricular function in a canine ventricular fibrillation model. Methods Ventricular fibrillation was induced in anesthetized and instrumented canine. Twenty-four dogs were randomly assigned to either ACD-CPR group or S-CPR group. After 4 minutes of untreated VF,two-dimension echocardiography was used to evaluate the left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of every canine of the two groups when they were undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Results During ventricular fibrillation, both ACD-CPR group and S-CPR group showed decreased LVEDV compared with pre-ventricular fibrillation, but not statistically significant( P >0.05).LVEDV was increased in ACD-CPR group compared with S-CPR group, but not statistically significant (P> 0. 05). Both ACD-CPR group and S-CPR group showed significantly increased LVESV compared with pre-ventricular fibrillation,of which the difference was statistically significant ( P <0. 001). Both ACD-CPRgroup and S-CPR group showed significantly decreased LVEF compared with pre-ventricular fibrillation,of which the difference was statistically significant (P <0. 001). LVEF was increased in ACD-CPR group compared with S-CPR group,of which the difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.019). Conclusions Compared with S-CPR,ACD-CPR resulted in higher LVEF.

BACKGROUND:Tranexamic acid has been more and more used in reducing bleeding after joint replacement, but its usage method and dosage remain controversial, and become a hot focus in recent years. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy and safety of intravenous drip combined with intra-articular injection of tranexamic acid on postoperative hidden blood loss in patients who received primary total hip arthroplasty. METHODS:Clinical data of 65 patients undergoing primary total hip arthroplasty were randomized to the test group and the control group. The patients in the test group received 0.5 g tranexamic acid through intravenous drip when the surgery starts and 0.5 g tranexamic acid inside hip joint through a drainage tube after capsule closure, and retaining for 6 hours. The patients in the control group intravenously received the same volume of physiological saline, and 50 mL physiological saline through a drainage tube after suture, and retaining for 6 hours. We compared with intraoperative blood loss, postoperative dominant blood loss and hidden blood loss, pain score, blood transfusion rate, deep vein thrombosis and day of hospitalization in both groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Hemoglobin and hematocrit were higher in the test group than in the control group after replacement (P < 0.05). The volumes of dominant blood loss and hidden blood loss were lower in the test group than in the control group after replacement (P < 0.05). Blood transfusion rate and day of hospitalization were less in the test group than in the control group (P < 0.05). No significant difference in intraoperative blood loss, pain score and incidence of deep vein thrombosis was detectable between the two groups (P > 0.05). These results indicate that the intravenous drip combined intra-articular injection of tranexamic acid in patients receiving total hip arthroplasty could reduce the amounts of postoperative dominant and hidden blood loss and blood transfusion rate, and did not increase the incidence of deep vein thrombosis.
