Traditional Chinese Medicine Informatics is a new branch created by integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Information Science.To research the connotation and principle of TCM Informatics will enrich the theory and promote the development of disciplines.This article thoroughly discussed the theoretical foundation and discipline characters of TCM Informatics.Then it discussed the principle and tasks from TCM information formation,acquisition,identification,transformation,feedback control,activation and dissemination of experiential knowledge.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of bionics pulsed electromagnetic fields (BEMF) on the biomechanical property of ovariectomized Wistar rats.MethodsForty 6 month old female Wistar rats were randomly divided into four different groups: ovariectomy group (group A), sham operation group (group B), BEMF+ovariectomized group (group C) and estrogen+ovariectomized group (group D). All rats were subjected to bilateral ovariectomy except group B. 8 weeks after operation, rats of group D were given estrogen 0.5 mg/kg/2 w. Rats of group C were exposed to BEMF, 1 h /d. Rats of group A and B were given nothing as control groups. All treatments was being kept for 10 weeks. After treatments finished, measuring the biomechanical property of femur and lumbar spine.ResultsThere were significant differences in the biomechanical property between group D and group A, and group C and group A (P<0.05).ConclusionBEMF can improve the biomechanical property of ovariectomized Wistar rats significantly and increase the capability of resisting fracture significantly.

Objective To investigate surgical opportunity and suitable treatment approach in nodular Hashimoto's disease.Methods An analysis was performed in 388 pathologically confirmed cases with nodular Hashimoto's disease and other thyroid-related diseases.All the cases were involved with surgical treatment due to thyroid nodules from June,1995 to Dec,2005.Results Among the above-mentioned cases,64 cases (16.5%) were Hashimoto's disease with the presence of thyroid cancer,190 (48.9%) nodular thyroid tumor,94 (24.2%) thyroid adenoma,7 (1.8%) hyperthyroidism,the rest (8.5%) simple Hashimoto's disease.Prior to 2000, among 106 cases of Hashimoto's disease there were 15 cases accompanied by thyroid cancer.Since 2001,282 cases of Hashimoto's disease were dealt surgically,49 of which had thyroid cancer.Compared to the period from 1995 to 2000,the complication of Hashimoto's disease and thyroid cancer has been sharply increasing during the recent five years (P

Objective:To investigate the relationship between tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)-308A/G gene polymorphism and mild cognitive impairment(MCI)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),and their correlative risk factors thereof.Methods:Forty cases of T2DM with MCI and 80 cases of T2DM without MCI were selected for this study.The polymorphism of the TNF-α-308A/G was detected by PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).According to the clinical data,such as course of disease,plasma glucose,plasma fat and body mass index(BMI),the independent risk factors of T2DM and MCI were analyzed by non-conditional logistic regression.Results:The frequency of TNF-α2 allele was significantly higher in the group of T2DM with MCI than that without MCI (P＜0.01).The indexes of the statistical significant difference between the two groups were the age,course of disease,postprandial blood glucose(P2BG),glycosylated hemoglobin,body mass index,family history of T2DM,hypertension,diabetic retinopathy,diabetic peripheral neuropathy and TNF-α.The independent risk factors included TNF-α,diabetic peripheral neuropathy,diabetic retinopathy,age and P2BG.Conclusion:There is a significant relationship between TNF-α2 allele and T2DM with MCI.There is a significant relationship between the age,control of plasma glucose and microvaseular complication of T2DM with the cognitive funotion.

[ABSTRACT]OBJECTIVETo investigate the phoenix roebelenii pollen as the allergen of allergic rhinitis in Hainan Province and provide guidance for prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitits.METHODSA total of 2054 patients with allergic rhinitis were tested with the allergen of phoenix roebelenii pollen by skin prick test, and then choose 30 positive cases to give the nasal mucosa provocation test. RESULTSThe total positive rate of allergen of phoenix roebelenii pollen by skin prick test was 67.38% (1384/2054). The 30 cases with positive skin prick test were all positive in nasal mucosa provocation test and the cases in control group were all negative.CONCLUSIONPhoenix roebelenii pollen is an important allergen in Hainan Province. There is a correlation between skin prick test and nasal mucosa provocation test. The allergen skin prick test can provide clue for the patients to avoid the pathogenic allergens and for the specific immunotherapy.

Due to the importance of molecular mechanisms of drug actions, network pharmacology has become a new perspective on drug mechanism research and novel drug discovery. Drug target prediction using computational methods, is one of the key research topics in network pharmacology. This paper reviewed the related research on drug target prediction methods. Furthermore, general principles of drug target prediction methods and key steps of them in recent years were summarized. Given the diversity of Chinese medicine ingredients, the network controlla-bility of herbs and the lack of high-quality pharmacological data, the network regulation mechanism of Chinese herb research will meet even more difficulties than modern drug research. Therefore, this paper also discussed main is-sues and research trends of Chinese herb target prediction. Finally, combining with the actual consolidated network data of Chinese herbs, chemical structure similarity computation and link prediction methods, the network-based herb target prediction method was proposed to demonstrate key research steps. Furthermore, we discussed the most significant research topics that we should addressed to enhance the high quality results of herb target prediction.

Method 40 cases of type 2 diabetes with MCI and 80 cases of type 2 diabetes without MCI were enrolled in this study. The polymorphism of the Apo E gene was detected by PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP). According to the clinical data such as course of disease, plasma glucose, plasma fat and body mass index (BMI), the independent risk factors of T2DM and MCI were analyzed by non-conditional logistic regression. Results The frequency of Apo E ε_4 allele in the group of type 2 diabetes with MCI was higher than that without MCI ( 25.0% vs 10. 0% ), and the difference had statistical significance( P < 0. 01 ). The indexes of the statistical significant difference be-twcen the two groups were age, course of disease, postprandial blood glucose ( P2BG), HBA1C, BMI,family history of T2DM, hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, Apo E gene. The independent risk factors included diabetic retinopathy ( OR = 3. 452, P < 0. 05 ), diabetic peripheral neuropathy( OR = 3. 252, P <0. 05), Ape E gene( OR = 2. 441, P < 0.01 ), HBA1C ( OR = 1. 372, P <0.05), P2BG(OR = 1. 194, P <0.05), age(OR = 1. 194, P <0.01) and course of disease(OR =1. 142, P <0. 05). Conclusion Apo E ε_4 allele has significant relationship with T2DM and MCI. The age, course of disease, control of plasma glucose, and microvascular complication of diabetes have relation-ship with the cognitive function.

Various teaching methods were used in occupational health and occupational medicine teaching,including problem based learning,multimedia teaching,bilingual teaching,case based learning and practice teaching methods when being confronted with new situation of occupational health and occupational safety.These methods are mean to encourage students' enthusiasm,cultivate students' comprehensive ability and enhance their sense of social responsibility and mission.Results showed that these methods improved the quality of teaching and achieved good teaching results.

Objective To explore the effect of spinal 360°circumferential resection decompression combined with bone cement fill-separation and pedicle screw fixation instrumentationb for patients suffering from spinal metastases.Methods Retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 42 patients suffering from spinal metastases and underwent spinal 360°circumferential resection decompression combine with bone cement fill-separation and pedicle screw fixation instrumentation in our hospital from April 2012 to October 2016.The pain level were assessed by visual analogue scale(VAS),the functional impairment was classified by Karnofsky score(KPS) and the neurologic deficit was evaluated by Frankel grade before preoperation,1 week after operation and 3 months after operation.Results Through the following-up of 3 months,there was no neural symptoms relapse in primary segment.The VAS score was (0.57 ±0.79) points,and the KPS was (72.61 ± 19.12) points 3 months after operation,which were significantly improved compared with the data before operation (P ＜ 0.05).The VAS score improvement rate was (91.09％ ±13.73％),and the Frankel grade improvement rate was 80％.Conclusion Circumferential resection decompression combined with bone cement fill-separation and pedicle screw fixation instrumentationb for patients suffering from spinal metastases can effectively improve the neural symptoms and life-quality of patients and prevent neural symptoms relapsing in primary segment after operation.

The necessity and feasibility of TCM literature evaluation based on mass information of TCM literature was discussed in this paper. Beginning with the description on current situation of mass TCM literature information research, the authors offered a tentative plan for evaluating scientific and technologic TCM literature, its method and technique, and systematically analyzed the key issues, such as the subjects selection, documents screening and sorting, literature analysis, and development of software analysis platform, then, the methodology and the technology for constituting the mass TCM literature information based evaluation system was systemically clarified.
