OBJECTIVETo investigate the influence of three primers on the shear bond strength between cast titanium (Ti) and composite resin.

METHODSThe disks (n = 40) were cast by commercially pure (CP) Ti, which diameter were 8 mm and thick were 3 mm. The titanium surfaces were polished with silicon carbide sand papers under running water and then treated by sandblasting and acid (4%HF) etching. They were divided into four groups: control group (group A), treated with KH-570 (group B), treated with Alloy Primer (group C), treated with Metal photo primer (group D). After treatment, the specimens were evaluated for their shear bond strengths by universal testing machine. The values were statistically analyzed. The fractured surfaces were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM).

RESULTSThe shear bond strengths of group A, B, C, D were (9.773 +/- 0.67), (11.463 +/- 0.82), (14.224 +/- 0.75), (13.157 +/- 0.73) MPa. There were significant differences in bond strength between A and B, C, D (P < 0.01). B and C, D had significant differences (P < 0.01). C and D had no significant differences (P>0.05).

CONCLUSIONKH-570, Alloy Primer, Metal photo primer significantly improve the bond strength of ceramage composite resin to cast titanium. KH-570 group bonding strength is lower than the the Alloy Primer group and Metal photo primer group.

Objective To study the therapeutic effects of intermittent hypoxia therapy(IHT)in isolated systolic hypertension(ISH)patients with elevated cerebral blood flow velocity(Vp),and to explore the mechanisms involved.Methods Seventy-six ISH patients with increasing Vp and normal pulsatility index(PI)of the middle ce- rebral artery(MCA)were randomly divided into a therapy group and a control group.IHT was administrated in the therapy group,and air in the control group.The Vp and PI of the MCA and blood pressure(BP)were observed be- fore and after treatment.Results Vp and systolic blood pressure(SBP)were significantly reduced after IHT(P＜0.01)compared with the therapy group's scores betore treatment,but PI and diastolic blood pressure showed no sig- nificant difference.There was no significant change in BP,Vp or PI in the control group before or after treatment. Conclusion IHT has therapeutic effects on ISH by reducing Vp and moderating SBP.

Objective To explore the application value of real-time shear wave elastography(SWE) in the liver injury caused by the blast injury.Methods The abdominal mild,moderate and severe blast injury animal models were built,liver and abdominal cavity conventional ultrasound scan and liver SWE measurement were processed before and immediately post-blast,and then the two groups' liver alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and the liver pathology results were compaired.Results The conventional ultrasound scan,immediately after the injury,had found no abnormities of the hepatic tissue in the mild blast injury group,while varying degrees of liver capsular rupture,part of the liver parenchyma regional uneven echo,subcapsular hematoma,obvious liver parenchyma interruption,effusion between the disruption of liver parenchyma and abdominal cavity effusion etc.a series of liver injury had been found in the moderate and severe groups,and the severe blast injury group was more obvious.Three groups' immediately liver elasticity and ALT of post-blast liver injury were increased compared with the pre-blast,the liver elasticity and ALT of each group pre-and post-blast comparing had statistically signifcant (P ＜0.05),and the three groups post-blast immediately liver elasticity and ALT and any two groups' comparing also had statistically significant (P ＜0.05).Conclusions After the blast injury,the changes of liver elasticity were associated with the liver injury degree,the higher elasticity values suggest the heavier damage.Based on conventional ultrasonography,SWE could provide a new evaluation method for the judgement of liver balst injury,especially in the diagnosis of mild liver blast injury.

Objective To clarify the pathogen for rubella in Beijing from 2007 to 2010. Methods Beijing Center for Disease Preventipn and Control ( CDC ) collected the specimens (including blood, urine and throat swab specimens) frqm clinically diagnosed rubella cases for serological test and virus isolation. The nucleic acid of rubella virus in clinical specimens and isolations was detected by real-time PCR. Results Fifty-five out of 99 blood specimens were positive for anti- rubella IgM. Fifty-one out of 99 clinically diagnosed rubella cases were confirmed as rubella cases by virus isolation. Seventy-two were confirmed as rubella virus infections with real-time PCR method for detecting the nucleic acid of rubella virus in clinical specimens. Compared with the sequences of reference strains of rubella virus, all of detected rubella virus belonged the IE gene type. Conclusion This study indicates that IE gene type virus was the predominant endemic rubella virus in Beijing.

Objective To assess the application of echocardiography in mini-invasive surgical device closure of ventricular septal defect (VSD). Methods 73 VSD patients including 35 with aneurysm formation and among them 21 with multi-defects in the aneurysm were treated by mini-invasive device closure. A closure device was positioned to the defect through parastemal mini-incision in all patients. TEE was used to monitor the whole procedure, to guide the device positioning and to evaluate the curative effect instantly after operation. All patients were evaluated by TTE one year postoperatively. Results All patients were successfully positioned closure devices by TEE guiding. 9 cases were found with trace to small amount residual shunt instantly after operation. 7 cases still had small amount residual shunt at the time of 48 hours after the operation. In the one year follow-up, 4 cases had residual shunt, but the size and volume of left ventricle were significantly reduced than those before operation, and the pulmonary artery systolic pressure was also reduced. Conclusion Echocardiography possesses an important role in preoperative indication screening, intraoperation monitoring and evaluating the curative effect postoperatively.

Objective To investigate the effect of hypoxic preconditioning on hepatocytes early growth response factor 1 ( EGR-1 ) in a rat liver autotransplantation. Methods The rat portal vein perfusion model was established for donor liver autotransplantation. Rats were then divided into group A:hypoxic preconditioning was done before transplantation; group B: rats undergoing liver transplantation without preconditioning; group C: Normal control group of rats. Liver histopathological changes, the mRNA expression of HIF-1, TNF-1 and the WB results of EGR-1 were compared between groups. Results The expression of HIF-1 α RNA determined in group A was more obvious than in group B and group C. Six hours after surgery, the expression in group A was significantly higher than that in group B (t =9. 601, df= 10, 2-tailed Sig = 0. 000, P<0. 05 ) ; Egr-1 protein expression in group A and group B increased after surgery,with that in group A being significantly lower than that in group B. The RT-PCR expression of TNF-α RNA in group B compared with group A and group C was more obvious. Six hours after operation, the expression of TNF in group B was significantly higher than that in group A ( t = -12. 067, df = 10, 2-tailed Sig =0. 000, P<0. 05 ). The expression of Egr-1 was positively correlated with that of TNF. A liver cell pathology showed less severe injury in structure of hepatic lobule, mild swelling of liver cells, no significant changes in liver tissue. Conclusions Hypoxic preconditioning adaptation in rat liver transplantation generates modest increase in EGR-1, and reduces the production of TNF and other inflammatory factors.

Thiopurines, one kind of immunosuppressants, represent an effective and widely prescribed therapy in clinic. Howev-er, the narrow therapeutic window and pharmacokinetic individual differences are always the problems in the clinical application of these drugs. Many factors can affect the metabolism and pharmacological effects of thiopurines, and the genetic polymorphisms of relat-ed metabolic enzymes involved in the metabolic process are considered to be the main factors. Recently, there is growing attention to the influence of the pharmacogenetics of related metabolic enzymes on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of thiopurines. Therefore, based on the literature data, this review summarizes the correlation between the genetic polymorphisms of related metabolic enzymes ( TPMT, ITPA, GST, HPRT, XO, IMPDH and GMPS) and efficacy and side effects of thiopurines in order to provide guid-ance for the individualized thiopurine treatment in the clinical practice.

Objective To investigate the effects of Skp2 overexpression on the sensitivity of troglitazone (TRG) in breast cancer cells and to devote to develop a novel drug for increasing the patient survival rate and eventually reaching the cure goal .Methods The transcription activities of PPARγ were analyzed on peroxisome proliferators response element(PPRE) luciferase reporter .The flow cytometry analysis and CCK‐8 assay were adopted to study that overexpression of Skp2 was associated with resistance to TRG‐mediated inhibition growth and apoptosis of breast cancer cells .Results Our study found that overexpression of Skp2 inhibi‐ted the transcriptional activity of the endogenous PPARγ and resisted to TRG‐mediated inhibition growth and apoptosis of breast cancer cells .Conclusion Overexpressed Skp2 breast cancer cells is able to be resistant to TRG‐induced sensitivity of breast cancer cells .Furthermore down‐regulating Skp2 will significantly enhance the growth inhibition of TRG on breast cancer cells .
