Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2003;0(08):-
50%,0-patent lumen. Those legs with dominant crural arterial lesion (gradeⅠ,Ⅱor Ⅲ) on at least one segments and without femoropopliteal arterial obstructions were selected. Results Totally 75 legs were involved. There were 53 legs( 70.7%) with only 1 main artery damaged,14 legs( 18.7%) with 2 main arteries damaged, and 8 legs( 10.6%) with all 3 main arteries damaged.Among the 5 arterial segments, the anterior tibial arterial lesions were found most frequently ( 73.3%,55/75),in which the segmental occlusion (gradeⅡ) was the most common type. The peroneal arterial lesions appeared least ( 20.0%,15/75).In the damaged main arteries,1/3 anterior tibial-dorsal arteries and 1/5 posterior tibial arteries had greatly improved distal vascularity compared with their proximal and middle portion, owing to the collateral arteries around the ankle.Statistical analysis showed that there was close relationship between the blood flow damage of the distal portion of the posterior tibial arterial segments (medial trans-ankle flow) and the peroneal artery with the clinical ischemic manifestations. Conclusions The dominant occlusive crural arterial lesions and the collateral arteries can be well imaged and diagnosed by color Doppler ultrasonography, which is helpful in providing accurate information of the blood supply of the distal part of the lower extremity.
2.Detection of chromosomally abnormal fetuses by nuchal translucency
Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 1993;0(01):-
Objective To assess the ultrasonographic detection of nuchal translucency or nuchal edema in identifying chromosomally abnormal fetuses. Methods Fetal nuchal translucency thickness was measured between 10~14 weeks of gestation,or nuchal fold thickness after 14 weeks, with serial follow-up ultrasound examinations. Results In a 2-year period,12 aneuploid fetuses had been identified, together with 5 fetuses of normal karyotype but fatal prognosis.Compared with the fetuses of increased nuchal translucency but normal karyotype and normal follow-up,they had a much thicker nuchal translucency in the first trimester (average 6.1 mm vs 3.6 mm),and in most cases the nuchal translucency evolved into nuchal edema in the second trimester, with other abnormalities detected by ultrasound. Conclusions Detection of increased nuchal translucency by ultrasound is effective in detecting chromosomally abnormal fetuses or fetuses with other abnomalities, and the changes of nuchal translucency observed by follow-up ultrasound may play an important role in differential diagnosis and predicting the prognosis.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of CD44st expression in non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC).Methods Specific primers for the CD44st gene (Gene Bank NO.FJ216964) which was found in multidrug resistance cells were designed, and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),gene sequencing and real-time PCR were used to validate the expression of the CD44st in the tissues and cancer adjacent tissues of 83 NSCLC patients (47 cases of adenocarcinoma,36 cases of squamous carcinoma). The clinicopathologic features were analyzed by statistical analysis method. Results The positive expressive rate of CD44st gene mRNA in NSCLC tissue was 63.9 % (53/83) and the negative expressive rate was 36.1% (30/83),which were more higher than those of cancer adjacent tissues (0/30,0 %) (P < 0.001).DNA sequencing results showed that the sequence of CD44st mRNA was consistent with the CD44st mRNA found in MCF-7/Adr cells in our previous study.Expression of CD44st was closely associated with pathological pattern, lymphatic metastasis and TNM staging in NSCLC (P < 0.05),but not with tumor size and differentiated degree (P > 0.05).The rates of two years disease progression and stable condition in the group of lower CD44st expression were 45.2 % (19/42) and 54.8 % (23/42),respectively,and the rates in the group of higher CD44st expression were 68.3 % (28/41) and 31.7 % (13/41),respectively (P < 0.05).Conclusions The expression level of CD44st is closely related to pathological pattern, the lymph node metastasis and the TNM-staging in NSCLC patients, which seriously influences the prognosis of the NSCLC patients. Therefore, the detection and the therapy to this special target may be a beneficial choice for the prognostic prediction of NSCLC.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(07):-
Rare sugars were defined as monosaccharides and their derivatives that rarely exist in nature. They played an important role in food, health, medicine and etc A strategy for bioproduction of rare sugars, namely Izumoring, was described. By the Izumoring method, all monosaccharides and polyols could be linked, using enzymatic reaction with D-tagatose 3-epimerase, aldose isomerases and polyol dehydrogenases. Izumoring for hexoses, pentoses and tetroses were designed respectively. According to this strategy, the bioproduction routes of various rare sugars, using microbial and enzymatic reactions, could be obtained. In addition, the future research tendency of biotransformation of rare sugars was put forward.

Objective To determine the diagnostic value and clinical significance of sonographically detected fetal dysplastic kidney with normal amniotic fluid volume. Methods At the 2nd or 3rd trimester of gestation, the fetuses with unilateral or bilateral renal anomalies (ahnormal size, echo, shape or cyst of the kidney) and normal amniotic fluid volume received systemic ultrasound examination, autopsy or follow-up until after birth. The fetus with only dilated renal pelvis was not included. Results Eleven fetuses of dysplastic renal anomalies with normal amniotic fluid volume were identified by prenatal ultrasound. Among the five fetuses affected by unilateral multicystic kidney dysplasia (MCKD),the renal anomaly was isolated in four fetuses, and the other one was complicated with absence of the ipsilateral hand. One of the two fetuses of unilateral renal agenesis had no other associated anomaly and the other one was complicated with hydrocephalus, spina bifida, ipsilateral absent radius and single umbilical artery, correspongding to the VACTERL syndrome. Two fetuses of pelvic kidney and horseshoe kidney respectively was proved by postnatal ultrasound. One fetus was diagnosed as autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease(ADPKD)on the basis of multiple renal cysts and a positive family history, the fetus also had cardiac rhabdomyoma. One fetus of bilateral normal sized hyperechoic kidneys was proved to be renal dysplasia by autopsy. Conclusions Unilateral MCKD is the most common type of fetal renal dysplasia which can be detected by prenatal ultrasound with normal amniotic fluid volume. Based on the sonographic characteristics and the family history, most of the dysplastic renal anomalies can be diagnosed prenatally and the prognosis can be predicted.
