Aim To apply simple combined models to screen small molecule BDNF-like compounds for potential pharmacotherapy of central nerve degenerative diseases. Methods BDNF-like bioactivities were dentified with effects against apoptosis induced by serum withdrawal in turn in cultured human SH-SY5y cells, rat NIH3T3/trkB cells vs NIH3T3 cells, using MTT technique. Results More than 400 compounds were tested by using these methods.11 of them presented protective effects on apoptosis induced by serum withdrawal in SH-SY5y cells.2 of them also provided selective protection against apoptosis induced in NIH3T3/trkB cells versus in NIH3T3 cells, which were identified as BDNF-like compounds.Further study showed that these 2 compounds could withstand SH-SY5y cell injuries induced by 6-OHDA.Conclusion All the above studies provide a useful series of simple models for BDNF-like drug screen and some compound candidates for further study of neuroprotection.

Objective To investigate the coping style and influencing factors of the recipients after relative kidney transplantation. Methods Medical coping modes questionnaire (MCMQ) and observa-tion interview were performed in the sampling survey, 56 case of recipients after relative kidney transplanta-tion according to the adopted standard were analyzed. Results The confronting score of all the cases were close to that of normal model, but the avoiding score and yielding score significantly increased. The prospective health conditions of the relative donors, function and survival time of the graft kidney, rejection reaction and other complication after transplantation were the main factors affecting the coping style of the recipients. Conclusions Based on the accurate evaluation of the coping style, nursing intervention should be aimed at the recipients following relative riving donor kidney transplantation, in order to help the recipients create a correct coping style and improve the survival rate of patient/kidney.

Objective: To observe the effect of the combination of acupuncture and medication on orthostatic hypotension after incomplete cervical spinal cord injury. Methods: Ninety-two patients with orthostatic hypotension after incomplete cervical spinal cord injury were divided into two groups according to the random number table method, with 46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with oral midodrine hydrochloride on the basis of conventional treatment, and the observation group was treated with acupuncture in addition to the intervention used in the control group. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The changes in supine and orthostatic blood pressures, motor and sensory scores, quadriplegic function index score, clinical efficacy, and safety evaluation were observed. Results: During the treatment, 2 cases dropped out in the observation group, and 3 cases dropped out in the control group. After 4 weeks of treatment, the clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the supine systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the two groups had no significant changes (P>0.05), while the orthostatic systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure, the motor and sensory scores, and the quadriplegic function index score were significantly higher than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Adverse reactions were mild in both groups. Conclusion: The combination of acupuncture and medication can significantly improve the orthostatic blood pressure, motor and sensory function and daily living ability of patients with orthostatic hypotension after incomplete cervical spinal cord injury, and it is safe and reliable.

Studies on the variation of amylase, lipase and lrotease activity of Whitmania pigra in 0-6 months old using 3, 5-dinitro- salicylic acid colorimetry, right-nitrophenyl palmitate ester (ρ-NPP) colorimetry and folin-phenol method. The results showed that pro- tease activity remained low before 1.5 months old and with the highest activity in 2 months old, but after showing a small peak in 4 months, alkaline protease rapid declined. Amylase was low at born, then gradually increased the activity of the highest in 2.5 months old. Lipase with a strong vitality at birth, then 1 month with minimum and 2 months peaked, but appeared a small peak in 4 months old. In summary, only lipase exhibits strong activity at birth, lipase with the strongest activity in the digestive tract during develop- ment. Protease, lipase and amylase with the strongest activity at 2-3 months old, but were decreased after 4 months old.
