Objective To provide scientific basis for developing mental interventions for the wounded in major disasters by assessing the mental health status and the mental intervention effect among the Wenchuan earthquake survivors transferred to Chongqing. Methods A total of 389 transferred wounded survivors were examined by using questionnaires including general information questionnaire,Psychological Health Self-rating Questionnaire (PHSQ),Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90),Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) and Coping Styles Questionnaire (CSQ).According to PHSQ,the wounded were divided into control group and stress group. Then, the stress group was given mental intervention and taken the second mental evaluation one month later. Results Acute stress disorder (ASD) rate (30.08%) was remarkably observed in these transferred wounded, who were subsequently administered a set of mental intervention. The wounded whose PHSQ mark ≥8 were defined as the stress group (Group A) and the others as the control group ( Group B).Compared with Group B,Group A had higher scores in depression ( P < 0.01 ),anxiety ( P < 0.01 ) and consternation ( P < 0.01 ),and lower scores in PSSS (P <0.01 ).Group A inclined to negative coping styles mainly including shrink back (P < 0.01 ) and fantasy (P <0.01 ),while Group B inclined to coping styles mainly including rationalization and help. The PSSS score in Group A was significant lower than that in Group B (P < 0.01 ).The scores in PHSQ,SCL-90 (anxiety and consternation),CSQ and PSSS were significantly improved after the mental intervention in Group A.Conclusions The incidence of ASD is high in the transferred wounded survivors and is mainly related with mental stress, such as emotional symptoms, negative coping styles and low perception of social support.Early mental interventions will help improve the psychological status of the transferred wounded.
2.Role of High-affinity Choline Transporter 1 in Colonic Hypermotility in a Rat Model of Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility 2018;24(4):643-655
BACKGROUND/AIMS: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disease characterized by intestinal dysmotility, the mechanism of which remains elusive. We aim to determine whether the high-affinity choline transporter 1 (CHT1), a determinant of cholinergic signaling capacity, modulates intestinal motility associated with stress-induced IBS. METHODS: A rat IBS model was established using chronic water avoidance stress (WAS). Colonic pathological alterations were evaluated histologically and intestinal motility was assessed by intestinal transit time and fecal water content (FWC). Visceral sensitivity was determined by visceromotor response to colorectal distension. RT-PCR, western blotting, and immunostaining were performed to identify colonic CHT1 expression. Contractility of colonic muscle strips was measured using isometric transducers. enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure acetylcholine (ACh). We examined the effects of MKC-231, a choline uptake enhancer, on colonic motility. RESULTS: After 10 days of WAS, intestinal transit time was decreased and fecal water content increased. Visceromotor response magnitude in WAS rats in response to colorectal distension was significantly enhanced. Protein and mRNA CHT1 levels in the colon were markedly elevated after WAS. The density of CHT1-positive intramuscular interstitial cells of Cajal and myenteric plexus neurons in WAS rats was higher than in controls. Ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate partly reversed CHT1 upregulation and alleviated colonic hypermotility in WAS rats. Pharmacological enhancement of CHT1 activity by MKC-231 enhanced colonic motility in control rats via upregulation of CHT1 and elevation of ACh production. CONCLUSION: Upregulation of CHT1 in intramuscular interstitial cells of Cajal and myenteric plexus neurons is implicated in chronic stress-induced colonic hypermotility by modulation of ACh synthesis via nuclear factor-kappa B signaling.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between SULF2 and WRN promoter methylation and chemosensitivity to irinotecan, and also the clinicopathological features in patients with gastric cancer.
METHODSThe chemosensitivity to irinotecan was tested by MTT assay. The methylation of SULF2 and WRN promoter in the fresh gastric cancer tissues was detected by methylation specific PCR. The differences of chemosensitivity and clinicopathological features of the methylation group were compared with that of the non-methylation group. The tumor growth in nude mice bearing human gastric cancer xenografts treated with CPT-11was also observed.
RESULTSThe methylation rates of SULF2 and WRN were 28.4% (29/102) and 23.5% (24/102), respectively. There were no significant association between promoter methylation and clinicopathological features of patients including age, gender, histologic type, lymphatic invasion, and TNM Stage. In all the 102 cases, there were 30 cases of irrinotecan-sensitive group, and 72 cases of the irrinotecan-resistant group. The SULF2 methylation rate was 46.7% (14/30)in the sensitive group, and 20.8% (15/72) in the resistant group (P = 0.008),The WRN methylation rate was 33.3% (10/30) in the sensitive group, and 19.4% (14/72) in the resistant group (P = 0.214). Gastric cancer tissues were more sensitive to irrinotecan when both the genes were methylated. The nude mice bearing human gastric cancer xenografts with SULF2 methylation were more sensitive to irrinotecan.
CONCLUSIONSThe detection of SULF2 and WRN promoter methylation may provide evidence for screening and targeting the most sensitive gastric cancer subpopulation suitable for personalized irrinotecan chemotherapy.

Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2004;39(1):63-66
OBJECTIVEThis study aimed at investigating bio-tribological property of titanium opposite to teeth as a base of clinical application.
METHODSUnder a modified fretting machine, wear tests on human natural teeth were carried out in artificial saliva conditions against to pure titanium. The dynamic frictional process and wear mechanisms were investigated by means of Nene-2, MVK-H12, TALYSURF6, OM, LSM, SEM, EDX.
RESULTSThe coefficient of friction exhibited a variation pattern of longs. The wear mechanism of natural tooth was detected as micro-cut and denaturation of dental texture and the wear depth of Ti/teeth was 20.33 + 2.86 microm, the wear depth of Ti/Ti being 38.00 + 5.88 microm (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSThe natural tooth has a good tribological behavior, matching the friction behavior of pure titanium. Over occlusal force during masticate process and para-function should be avoided. When we chose dental materials, wear resistance should be taken into account.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the early pathological changes of KKAy mouse model of type 2 diabetes.
METHODSFive male KKAy mice and six C57BL mice each were studied at the age of 8, 16, 20 and 24 weeks. With each mouse a 24-hour urine collection was made for the tests of proteinuria. Plasma insulin, lipids, serum creatinine and urea were also measured. Renal tissues were observed to assess glomerular and tubulointerstial pathology.
RESULTSThe KKAy mice developed hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and obesity by 16 weeks of age (P < 0.01). The proteinuria increased with the increasing of age (P < 0.005), but there were no changes in control. The glomerular hypertrophy was observed in KKAy mice at the age of 16 weeks. Computer map analysis system (CMIAS) indicated the expansion of mesangial matrix in KKAy mice with ageing. There was significant tubular dilation, accompanied with focal tubular atrophy and interstitial fibrosis. On electron microscopy, GBM undergo progressive thickening (P < 0.01), accompanied with podocytes fusion and increasing of proteinuria.
CONCLUSIONSKKAy mice developed hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and obesity after 16 weeks, with proteinuria, mesangial matrix accumulation, GBM thickening and tubular dilation. It was considered a good animal model for the early pathology changes of DN.
