Voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs), which are widely distributed in the excitable cells, are the primary mediators of electrical signal amplification and propagation. They play important roles in the excitative conduction of the neurons and cardiac muscle cells. The abnormalities of the structures and functions of VGSCs can change the excitability of the cells, resulting in a variety of diseases such as neuropathic pain, epilepsy and arrhythmia. At present, some voltage-gated sodium channel blockers are used for treating those diseases. In the recent years, several neurotoxins have been purified from the venom of the animals, which could inhibit the current of the voltage-gated sodium channels. Usually, these neurotoxins are compounds or small peptides that have been further designed and modified for targeted drugs of sodium channelopathies in the clinical treatment. In addition, a novel cysteine-rich secretory protein (CRBGP) has been isolated and purified from the buccal gland of the lampreys (Lampetra japonica), and it could inhibit the Na+ current of the hippocampus and dorsal root neurons for the first time. In the present study, the progress of the sodium channelopathies and the biological functions of voltage-gated sodium channel blockers are analyzed and summarized.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between the change of Heart-fatty acid-binding protein and myocardial injury/infarction in postoperative of off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB).Methods 59 patients (male 37 and female 22,from 46 to 83 years old) who were the first time to undergoing OPCAB were included in this study.Serial venous blood samples were taken at after induction of anesthesia, the OPCAB finished (after the last anastomosis),entered ICU,2,4 and 8 hours after the patient entered ICU,and at 1 and 2 day postoperative to test H-FABP.The cTnI and CK-MB were tested at 4 and 8 hours, after entering ICU,and at 1 and 2 days postoperative.Patients were divided into 3 groups by the changes of ECG and the level of cTnl at 8 hours after they entered ICU:normal group (group I,cTnI <0.1 ng/ml),myocardial injury group(group Ⅱ,cTnI 0.l-1.0 ng/ml) and.myocardial infarction group(group Ⅲ,cTnI > 1.0 ng/ml).Results The level of H-FABP released was significantly higher in the myocardial infarction group than normal group and myocardial injury group (P < 0.01).There is good correlation between the H-FABP and cTnI or CK-MB.But the peak level of H-FABP is earlier (finished OPCAB) (P < 0.05),and it peaked early at 2h after entered ICU (P < 0.01),it began to decrease at 4 hours after entered ICU and returned to baseline at 1 day postoperative, while the cTnI and CK-MB peaked at postoperative day 1 and 8h after entered ICU respectively, and maintained in higher level at postoperative 2 days. Conclusion There is good correlation between the H-FABP and perioperative myocardial infarction in OPCAB,and it has superiority compared with cTnI,which is as gold standard for perioperative myocardial infarction,on a certain degree. It can benefit from early detection of H-FABP for myocardial infarction in perioperative of OPCAB.

OBJECTIVETo establish a gas chromatography method for simultaneous determination of organochlorine and pyrethroid pesticide residues in Viscum coloratum by cloud-point extraction (CPE).
METHODPesticides were extracted with the non-ionic surfactant Triton X-100. The apparatus was gas chromatography with electron capture detector and the separation was performed on an Hp-5 column. The pesticide residues were calculated by external standard method.
RESULTGood linear relation was obtained over the range of 5-500 microg L(-1) for organochlorine and 10-1,000 microg L(-1) for pyrethroid. The limits of detection was 1.5-7.5 microg kg(-1). The average recoveries of organochlorine and pyrethroid were 74.15% -111.6% with corresponding RSD of 4.0% -9.1%.
CONCLUSIONThe sample and rapid method was applied to pesticide residues determination.

BACKGROUNDTo compare the efficacy and side effects between cisplatin solution and cisplatin powder combination regimens for lung cancer.
METHODSA total of 223 patients were enrolled into this study. EP protocol was given to patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC), and NP protocol to non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The 223 patients were randomly divided into cisplatin solution group and cisplatin powder group, and the same drugs and dosage were used in the two groups for the same type of lung cancer.
RESULTSResponse rates of the cisplatin solution group and the cisplatin powder group were 84.8% and 82.4% for SCLC ( P > 0.05), and 31.6% and 29.9% for NSCLC ( P > 0.05), respectively. The major side effects were gastrointestinal reactions and myelosuppression. Significantly higher incidence of nausea/vomiting was found in cisplatin solution group than that in cisplatin powder group for either SCLC or NSCLC ( P < 0.05). There was a remarkable difference in cost of hospitalization between the two groups ( P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSCisplatin solution is as effective as cisplatin powder in the treatment of lung cancer. However, the more severe nausea/vomiting reactions and higher cost of cisplatin solution should be considered in its clinical application.

Chinese Journal of Lung Cancer 2005;8(5):459-461
BACKGROUNDMalignant pleural effusions commonly occur in patients with advanced cancer. Treatment is often palliative, such as pleural aspiration or tube thoracostomy with large bore chest tube. Tube thoracostomy with large bore chest tube can cause significant discomfort of patients. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of small bore catheter for drainage and administration of sclerosing agent in the treatment of malignant pleural effusions.
METHODSSixty patients with malignant pleural effusions were randomly assigned to small bore catheter thoracostomy closed drainage group or conventional pleural aspiration group. Cisplatin and interleukin-2 were infused into the thoracic cavity in eligible patients after drainage. Responses were evaluated 30 days later.
RESULTSOverall response rate (complete response plus partial response) was 80.00% in small bore catheter thoracostomy closed drainage group and 36.67% in conventional pleural aspiration group respectively (P < 0.01). And the side effects in small bore catheter thoracostomy closed drainage group were obviously less than that in conventional pleural aspiration group.
CONCLUSIONSSmall bore intercostal catheter for drainage and administration of sclerosing agent is a valid and safe option for malignant pleural effusions.

Objective To detect the spatial temporal distribution of mumps in Gansu by means of spatial statistics. Methods The county-based incidence of mumps from 2009 to 2013 was used to calculate the global Moran' s I and local G statistics, and analyze its spatial temporal distribution characteristics. Results The incidence of mumps in Gansu were spatial auto-correlated from 2009 to 2013 respectively (P<0.001), and the hot spots were mainly distributed in Hexi area, while the cold spots were distributed in Tianshui, Longnan and Qingyang.Spatial temporal analysis showed that the high incidence of mumps was most likely to be detect in Hexi area (RR=3.05, LLR=4 670.995, P<0.001), and the low incidence was most likely to be detect in Longdong area (RR=0.36,LLR=1 980.686,P<0.001).Conclusion The spatial and spatial temporal clustering of mumps existed in Gansu from 2009 to 2013, the results can be used in the development of mumps prevention and control measure in Gansu.

Acta Physiologica Sinica 2017;69(6):843-851
Neutrophils are one of the most abundant leukocytes present in the human blood circulation system, which could provide continuous immune surveillance. Recent studies have shown that neutrophils are closely related to angiogenesis. Neutrophils could release various cytokines, which regulate the angiogenic process by affecting the growth and migration of endothelial cells directly or indirectly. In the present review, the regulatory effects of neutrophils on angiogenic process and mechanisms are analyzed and summarized, which would provide clues for the treatment of related diseases using neutrophils as the targets in the future.
