1.Advances and Updates on pathological diagnosis of lymphoma
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2016;43(14):613-619
The 2008 World Health Organization Classification of Tumors of Hematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissues (4th edition) has greatly advanced the diagnosis, treatment, academic exchange, and research of lymphoma worldwide. A new revised edition will be published soon, in which the diagnosis and management of lesions at the very early stages of lymphomagenesis, the diagnostic criteria for several entities, and the genetic/molecular landscape of numerous lymphoid neoplasms and their clinical correlates have been clarified, refined, detailed, and expanded. Furthermore, several new concepts have been suggested in the upcoming revised edition, although the framework of classification remains the same. These updates will lead to development of more targeted therapeutic strategies and increase our confidence in the era of precision medicine. This manuscript will review the major advances and updates that are helpful for our un-derstanding and improvement in tumor diagnosis.

Objective To study the proportion and sonographic features of various kinds of diseases in the polypoid lesions of the gallbladder (PLG) diagnosed by ultrasonography, and to explore the reliability of ultrasonography for the diagnosis of PLG. Methods A total of 556 cases of PLG diagnosed by ultrasonography were classified basing on the results of pathological examination. And the accordance rate between ultrasonography and pathological examination in the PLG with different size was analyzed. Results Among the 556 cases of PLG, 446 (80.2%) had cholesterol polyps, 86 (15.5%) adenomatous polyps, 18 (3.2%) inflammatory polyps, and 6 (1.1%) myoadenoma. In 97.3% of the cholesterol polyps, the diameter was less than 1.0 cm, and 64.6% of the cases had multiple polyps. In the cholesterol polyps, the accordance rate between ultrasonography and pathological examination was 91.3%. Of the adenomatous polyps, 61.6% had a diameter over 1.0 cm, and 34.0% showed atypical hyperplasia or malignancy. However, 25% of the malignancies were found in the adenomatous polyps with a diameter less than 1.0 cm. Conclusions More than 80% of PLG are cholesterol polyps and 15.5% are adenomatous polyps. Most of the PLG with malignant transformation sized over 1.0 cm in diameter. However, the adenomatous polyps with a diameter ranged from 0.7 to 0.9 cm also have malignant tendency. In the cholesterol polyps, the accordance rate between ultrasonography and pathological examination is 91.3%, showing that ultrasonography is reliable for the diagnosis of the disease.

Objective: To investigate the successive fluctuation of some Thl type cytokines in the peripheral blood of tumor-bearing mice treated with tumor-derived heat shock protein 70 ( HSP70) , explore the mechanism of HSP 70 in breaking through the tumor-immunity tolerance of the organism with tumor-burden and in inducing effective anti-tumor immune response, and provide valuable reference for tumor-derived HSP70 administration in treating human cancer. Methods : Cell culture, techniques for protein extraction and purification, SDS-PAGE, Western-blot, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA technique and animal experiment were applied. Results: HSP70 could result in apparent tumor-inhibitory effect and upregulate some Thl type cytokines(IL-2, TNF-?, and IFN-?) in the peripheral blood of the treated mice gradually to the frequency of HSP70 administration, and showed no reduction trend in two weeks after the final treatment. Statistically significant difference was observed contrasted with those of the control group (P
