1.Application of AH Plus root canal filling paste in root canal therapy

To compare the postobturation pain and therapeutic effects in root canal therapy between two root canal filling materials: AH Plus and zinc oxide eugonol. Four hundred and twenty four teeth requiring root canal therapy were randomly divided into 2 groups: AH Plus ( trial group ) or zinc oxide eugonol ( control group) were used in treatment respectively. The pain intensity after treatment was evaluated by visual analogue scale. The therapeutic effects were evaluated by follow-up for 6 and 12 months. The pain intensity of trial group was significantly lower than that of the control group in 3rd and 7th day[8. 5% ( 18/212) vs. 15.6% (33/212),5.2% (11/212) vs. 14.6% (31/212),both P <0.05]. There were no significant differences in effictive rate between two groups after follow-up for 6 and 12 months[92. 5% ( 196/212) vs. 89. 6% ( 190/212 ) ,91.5% ( 194/212 ) vs. 88.7% ( 188/212 ), both P > 0. 05]. AH Plus root canal filling paste used in root canal therapy can significantly decrease postoperative pain.
2.Effects of ovulation induction on expression of integrins ?_4?_1 in endometrium

Objective To study the effect of clomiphene citrate (CC) and human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG) on the expression of integrins ? 4? 1 during implantation window in endometrium. Methods Endometrium integrin ? 4? 1 expression was detected by immunohistochemistry method in the mid secretory phase of 48 normal natural cycles. CC+hCG or CC+hMG+hCG cycles in 30 polycystic ovary syndrom (PCOS) patients and 48 normal women. Results The expression of endometrial integrin ? 4? 1 was stronger in the natural cycls than those of ovulation induction cycles with CC+hCG or CC+hMG+hCG. So was the pregnancy cycles as compared with the non pregnant cycles. Conclusion The endometrial receptivity in the min luteal phase and pregnant rate declined during ovulation induction by CC+hCG or CC+hMG+hCG in either normal women or PCOS patients.
3.Effect of Shenxiong-Huayu capsule preconditioning on cell apoptosis and the expression of C-fos and C-jun in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats with cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning on cell apoptosis and the expression of c-fos、c-jun in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats with acute cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury.Methods SD rats were divided into 3 groups by completely randomized method:sham operation group(n=6),ischemia reperfusion group (model group),and Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group (preconditioning group).The last two groups were divided randomly into 6 h,24 h,48 h and 72 h reperfusion subgroups (each n=6).Intragastric administration for 7 days,once a day.Middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfushion model was made by an intraluminal filament method.Cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL method,the expression of c-fos、c-jun was observed by immunohistochemistry.Results ① The number of apoptosic cells at 6、24、48、72hin the hippocampal CA1 area ofrats was respectively (11.17±3.71、39.83 ± 5.67、48.33± 5.32 and 22.17± 3.7 1) single/High power field in the model group,and was respectively (7.83±2.04、15.00±3.58、29.50±6.89 and 10.17±2.32) single/High power field in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group.Compared with the model group,the number of apoptosic cells at each time point in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats was decreased in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group(P<0.05 or P<0.01 ).② The number ofc-fos at 6、24、48、72 h in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats was respectively (14.50± 3.45、33.67± 1.63、42.33±3.32 and 32.00 ±2.90) single/High power field in the model group,and was respectively (10.17 ± 2.93、21.50 ± 2.43、30.83 ± 3.76 and 25.17 ± 5.27) single/High power field in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group.The number of c-jun at 6、24、48、72 h in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats was respectively (15.50±4.19、22.83±5.64、33.10±4.19 and 14.67±3.08) single/High power field in the model group,and was respectively (9.67± 3.63、15.67±2.73、21.26±3.63 and 9.33 ±3.61)single/High power field in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group.Compared with the model group,the expression of c-fos、c-jun at each time point in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats was decreased in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group (P<0.05 or P<0.01).ConclusionShenxiong-Huayu capsule can inhibit apoptosis by restraining the expression of c-fos、c-jun and relive cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.
4.Clinical monitoring of serum sex hormones during normal menstrual follicle growth cycle

Objective To study the changes of six sex hormones corresponding to the follicle growth during the normal menstrual cycle of Chinese women.Methods Thirty Chinese women with regular menstrual period and average age of (28.8±3.2) years were selected for the study by Peking Union Medical College Hospital in September,2010.Growth of follicles was monitored by using transvaginal sonography.Six sex hormones,including follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),estradiol (E2),progesterone (P),testosterone (T),and prolactin (PRL) were measured by chemoluminescence immunoassay every day during a menstrual cycle.Nonparametric statistical analysis was used.ResultsMenstrual cycle of all the patients was in the range of 25 to 39 d,with mean of (29.5 ± 3.1) d.Length of follicular phase and luteal phase was 15.3 and 14.4 d,respectively.Number of days from antral follicle to emergence of dominant follicle,and from the latter to ovulation,was 6.2 and 8.9 d,respectively.Average diameter of preovulatory follicle was 19.33 mm.Both FSH and LH reached peak on the day before ovulation.P started to increase before ovulation and remained at a high plateau from 6th to 9th day after ovulation.Both PRL and T reached peak after ovulation,near the end of a menstrual cycle.Conclusions A small rise of LH and P emerges just 1 to 2 d before ovulation,indicating the maturing of follicle.PRL and T shows cyclic changes as follicle grows.Therefore,PRL and T levels should be measured in the early follicle phases in the clinical practice so that leading the impact of menstrual cycle minimal.
5.Expression of leptin and long form of leptin receptors messenger ribonucleic acid and protein in endometrium of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

Objective To study the expression of leptin and long form of leptin receptors (Ob R L) messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) and protein in endometrium during mid luteal phase of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) Methods The expession of leptin and Ob R L mRNA in endometrium during mid luteal phase from 15 normal controls and 14 PCOS related anovulatory patients who underwent ovulation induction therapy were studied by in situ hybridization, and levels of leptin and Ob R L protein were investigated by immunohistochemical methods Results The expression of Ob R L mRNA and protein in endometrial glands of most patients with PCOS were weak or moderate positive,whereas the levels of Ob R L mRNA and protein were moderate or strong positive in those of the controls,there was significant difference between the two groups; leptin mRNA and protein expression in enodmetrium of patients with PCOS and controls were not significantly different between the groups Conclusion The expression of Ob R L decreased in endometrium of mid luteal phase in patients with PCOS during induced ovulation,which may be related to low pregnancy rate of patients with PCOS.
6.Protective effect of polypeptide from Chlamys farreri on UVB-irradiated murine thymocytes in vitro

Objective To study the radioprotective effect of polypeptide from Chlamys farreri (PCF) on ultraviolet B(UVB)-irradiated murine thmocytes in vitro. Methods The murine thymocytes were exposed to UVB radiation. MTT method was used to detect the cell viability. The activities of intracellular glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), superoxided dismutase(SOD) and catalase (CAT) were measured. Intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the effect of PCF on UVB-induced apoptosis were investigated by flow cytometry. Results PCF could greatly enhance the viability of murine thymocyte and markedly promote the activities of GSH-Px, SOD and CAT, while the amount of ROS was decreased. PCF could inhibit UVB-induced thymocyte apoptosis. Conclusion PCF has significant radioprotective effects on UVB-irradiated murine thymocytes in vitro.
7.Antioxidative effect of polypeptide from Chlamys farreri on HaCaT cells damaged by ultraviolet B

Objective To investigate the antioxidative effect of polypeptide from Chlamys farreri (PCF) on HaCaT cells damaged by ultraviolet B (UVB). Methods HaCaT cells model established by UVB irradiation were randomly divided into seven groups. After pretreatment with different concentrations of PCF for 1 h, the cells were irradiated by UVB at a dose of 30mJ/cm~ 2, and followed further incubatiou for 18 h. Enzyme activities including superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and catalase (CAT) were determined by biochemical methods. Total antioxidative capacity (T-AOC) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were also determined. Results PCF could enhance the activities of SOD, GSH-Px and CAT; increased T-AOC and inhibited MDA formation. Conclusion These results indicated that PCF exhibited protective effects on HaCaT cells irradiated by UVB owing to its antioxidative action.
8.Development and application of Jingcen DY-1 spraying tanker for Oncome-lania hupensis snail control

Objective To develop a Jingcen DY?1 type spraying tanker for Oncomelania hupensis snail control and evaluate its effect of field application as well as the cost. Methods The currently available tractor was used as a vector,and the mechan?ical and electrical equipments and containers were integrated with shafts,pipelines and electric lines to produce a spraying tank?er for snail control,with the functions of carrying people and molluscicides,generating electric power and getting water,mixing stocking solutions,adjusting molluscicide solutions evenly,and spraying drugs. The volume of the molluscicide solution,flow rate of water injection,and the flow rate,range and advance speed of the spray gun were tested,and the solution concentrations of molluscicide in the tanker and at the muzzle of the spray gun at different time were detected. Meanwhile,the molluscicidal ef?fect and cost of the spraying tanker were analyzed by the field test. Results The volume of the liquid storage pot of the Jingcen DY?1 type spraying tanker was 1 800 L,the flow rate of water injection was 400 L/min,the flow rate and the spray range of the standard spray gun were 110-200 L/min and 19.70-23.50 m,respectively,the efficiency of drug spraying of the spraying tanker was 6 000 m2/h,and the ratio of spray width(m)to march speed(m/min)was 1∶200. When 5 min post mother liquid recirculat?ing ,the average concentration of the molluscicide at the upper? ,middle? and lower?layers of the liquid storage pot was (1 030.39 ± 43.00)mg/L,with a variation coefficient of 4.17%. The average concentration of the molluscicide in the spraying process(spraying for 2,4,6,8,9 min)was(953.00 ± 68.87)mg/L,with a variation coefficient of 7.22%. The concentration of the residual drug in the liquid storage pot post spraying was 1 000.43 mg/L,which reached the effect concentration for snail con?trol. After spraying for 7 days in the field,the average density of living snails reduced by 88.20% as compared to that before spraying,and the adjusted mortality of snails was 87.65%. The unit cost of Jingcen DY?1 spraying tanker was 0.086 7 Yuan/m2, which reduced by 58.20% as compared to that of the conventional spraying tanker. Conclusions Jingcen DY?1 type spraying tanker for snail control which integrates various equipments together can effectively control the concentration and dose of the mol?luscicide,and the machine is labor?saving,efficient,economic and well adapted,and is worthy to be widely applied.
9.Mechanisms of serotonin transporter and serotonin 1A receptor in the different susceptibility of chronic unpredictable stress

Objective To investigate the expression of serotonin transporter (5-HTT) and serotonin 1A treceptor (5-HT1 A R) located in the chronic unpredictable stress (CUS)-relative brain areas (mPFC,VTA,NAc) in high and low CUS susceptibility rats,thus to unveil the possible mechanism lead to the different CUS susceptibility.Methods One hundred and fifty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into experiment group (n =120) and control group (n =30).Rats in experiment group were trained according to established CUS procedure.OFT and FST were used to assess the different susceptibility to CUS:high susceptibility group (H group)and low susceptibility group (L group).After the model was established,rats were scarified and cardio-perfused,and the brains were removed and sliced up coronarily.The sections including ventral tegmental area (VTA),nucleus accumben (NAc),medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) were selected.The mRNA levels of 5-HTT and 5-HT1AR in the regions were estimated with in situ hybridization.Results The expression of 5-HTT in H group were significantly lower than that of in the control and L group in all regions (mPFC:169.20 ± 8.23 vs 143.53 ±5.31 ; Nac:177.41 ± 5.68 vs 158.65 ± 5.24 ; VTA:174.16 ± 5.61 vs 158.65 ± 4.85),and the difference between the H and L group was significant(P<0.01) ;however,the expression of 5-HT1AR in H group were significantly higher than that of in the control and L group in all regions (mPFC:113.98 ± 7.46 vs 125.90 ± 3.30 ; Nac:112.11± 5.50 vs 125.06 ± 3.97 ;VTA:103.11 ± 6.05 vs 115.57 ± 3.19),and the difference between the H and L group was significant (P< 0.01).Conclusion The overexpression of 5-HT1AR and down regulation of 5-HTT in the circuit of VTA-NAc-mPFC may be the basis of the high susceptibility to CUS.
10.Analysis of 108 cases of submucosal tumor treated by endoscopic submucosal excavation

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic submucosal excavation in the treatment of suhmucosal tumor.Methods From 2010 to 2013,a total of 108 cases of suhmucosal tumor detected by endoscopic,endoscopic ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT) scan,most of which grew toward the lumen,were treated by endoscopic suhmucosal excavation.After the lesions were completely excavated,pathological examination were performed.All the cases were followed up with endoscopic examination at one,three,six,12 and 24 months after operation.Results Among 108 cases of lesions,27 cases were located in esophagus,eight in cardia,59 in stomach,two in duodenum and 12 cases in rectum.The diameters of the lesions ranged from 0.5 to 5.5 cm (median 2.1 cm).Operation time was between 18 and 240 minutes (median 105 minutes).The endoscopic treatment was converted to laparoscopic operation in three cases because the submucosal tumors of gastric body growing towards outside the lumen,or adhesive to muscular layer tightly and or perforation too big to be sutured.Three cases of submucosal tumor of fundus were failed to excavate,the other 102 cases (94.44%) of lesions were completely removed.Perforation occurred in 19 cases (17.59%).The procedure was converted to laparoscopic operation in one case.Effective endoscopic suture was complered in 18 cases.The volume of haemorrhage during operation was about 0 to 50 mL and no post-operational bleeding was found.Eight cases had cervical subcutaneous emphysema.Nine cases had pneumoperitoneum.Left parotid gland swollen was found in one case.Nine cases were lost to follow up.The left 99 cases were followed up for one to 24 months and no recurrence.Conclusion ndoscopic submucosal excavation safety and effectively achieve once complete removed of the big submucosal tumor which grows towards inside the lumen,and provide complete pathologic data.
