Objective: To explore heart rate variability (HRV) and arrhythmia in patients with resistant hypertension.
Methods: Our work included 3 groups:Resistant hypertension (RH) group, n=39, Non-resistant hypertension (NRH) group, the hypertension could be controlled by 1-3 medications, n=42 and Control group, composed of 40 healthy subjects. The 24h ambulatory blood pressure and electrocardiogram were monitored, the time-domain of HRV and arrhythmia parameters were compared among 3 groups which including standard deviation of all normal RR intervals (SDNN), standard deviation of the average normal RR intervals for all 5-min segments (SDANN), the mean of standard deviation of all 5-minute RR intervals (SDNN Index), the root mean square of the differences between adjacent R-R intervals (rMSSD) and the percentage of adjacent R-R intervals varied by more than 50 ms (pNN50).
Results: Compared with Control group, both RH and NRH groups showed decreased time-domain HRV parameters, all P<0.05. Compared with NRH group, RH group had the lower time-domain HRV parameters, all P<0. 05, while the rMSSD was similar between 2 groups (t=-1.5048, P=0.1364). The rates of arrhythmia in both RH and NRH groups were higher than Control group. The incidences of premature atrial contraction and atrial tachycardia were higher in RH group than NRH group, P<0.05, while the premature ventricular contraction, ventricular tachycardia and A-V block were similar between 2 groups, all P>0.05.
Conclusion: RH patients had decreased HRV and increased arrhythmia, especially with the higher incidence of atrial arrhythmia.

The effects of sulfated polysaccharides from brown seaweeds GS201 on neuronal survival of cultured brain neurons were investigated in this paper.Results indicated that GS201 at concentrations of 0.01 0.1 1 10 mg?L -1 significantly enhanced the neuronal survival of both hippocampus and neurocortex.The mechanisms underlying the neurotrophic effect exerted by GS201 need to be further elucidated.

Objective:To analyze the status of ethical management of biobanks in Shanghai public hospitals. Methods :A questionnaire survey on ethical management of biobanks was conducted in 9 representative ethics com-mittees, which were established in public hospitals with biobanks in Shanghai. Results: The ethics committees in Shanghai public hospitals had paid relatively high attention to ethical review of protocols were related to biobanks. Nonetheless, the ethical supervision and training on biobanks in Shanghai public hospitals should be enhanced. Con-clusion:The unified ethical guideline on biobanks should be developed in Shanghai for strengthening the standard-ized ethical management and ethics training to promote the development and use of biological samples library re-sources.

Cell morphometry method was applied in courting a nd analyzing 12 ultrastruc-ture morphological parameters of the rough endoplasmic reticulum and ribosome from 10 female patients of the simple breast carcinoma in the late stage by pathological diagnosis． The best equation was set up with stepwise regression analysis was as follows: y=0.22+0.503N6-013N7． Due to above equation, selecting the best parameters were the surface density of free ribosome N6 and specific surface of rough endoplasmic reticulum N7． They could be used to distinguish the normal cell-apparatus from carcinoma cell-apparatus． These results show that N6 and N7 in varying degrees could provide fixed quantity basis for the prognosis of breast carcinoma．

Objective To evaluate the value of ADC and FA of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in differentiating clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of kidney pelvis.Methods Thirty-eight histopathology proven ccRCC and TCC patients (29 cases of ccRCC and 9 cases of TCC) were retrospectively enrolled.All the patients were performed abdominal MR fat saturation T1WI,fat saturation T2WI,LAVA and DTI (b=0,600 s/mm2).MR images were reviewed and analyzed by two radiologists in a double-blind manner with the value of ADC and FA measured using the Functool on AW 4.4 workstation.The data of two observers were analyzed with intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) to assess inter-observer consistency.The differences of ADC values and FA values between ccRCC and TCC were compared by independent t-test.The ROC curves were used to analyze and compare the diagnostic value of DTI in differentiating ccRCC and TCC.Results The inter-observer agreements were good (ICC＞0.75).The ADC value of ccRCC was statistically higher than that of TCC ([2.03 ± 0.49] × 10-3 mm2/s vs [1.57 ± 0.43] × 10-3 mm2/s,P =0.015).But the FA value of ccRCC was statistically lower than that of TCC ([0.24±0.10] vs [0.42±0.22],P=0.002).The area under the ROC curve of ADC was 0.761 (P＜0.05),and the sensitivity and specificity were 79.3％ and 77.8％.The ADC threshold for differentiating ccRCC from TCC was 1.59× 10-3 mm2/s.The area under the ROC of FA was 0.762 (P＜ 0.05),and the sensitivity and specificity were 66.7 ％ and 93.1％.The FA threshold for differentiating ccRCC from TCC was 0.326.Conclusion MR DTI can effectively discriminate ccRCC and TCC.FA values has good diagnostic specificity in differentiating between ccRCC and TCC.

Objective To explore the value of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in differential diagnosis of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Methods Fifty-two patients including 20 patients with ICC (ICC group) and 32 patients with HCC (HCC group) confirmed by histopathological examination were recruited in the study.All the patients were performed MR exams on a 1.5T scanner in a protocol containing the routine T1WI,T2WI,DWI and DTI.The values of ADC,fractional anisotropy (FA),diffusion coefficient (D) were blindly reviewed and analyzed by two experienced observers,and were compared between two groups.The ROC curve was used to evaluate the di agnostic efficiency.Results The border clear percentage of ICC group (9/20,45.00％) had no significant difference compared with that of HCC group (15/32,46.88％;x2 =0.02,P=0.90),the detection rate of bile duct expansion in ICC group (11/20,55.00％) was higher than that in HCC group (4/32,12.50％;x2=10.83,P=0.001).Theintraclasscor relation coefficient value of ADC,D and FA in the ICC group and HCC group were all more than 0.90.The mean FA of ICCgroup (0.45±0.16) were significantly higher than that of HCC group (0.30±0.13;P=0.001),while the mean ADC and D values in ICC and HCC groups had no significant difference (both P＞0.05).The area under the ROC curve of FA was 0.76.And when FA=0.31,there was a higher sensitivity (85.0％) in identifying ICC and HCC.Conclusion The FA of DTI shows a stronger capability than the ADC and D values in differentiating the ICC from HCC.

Objective To study the exocrine pancreatic function in critically ill children with septic shock,sepsis and hyperlactacidemia.Methods A total of 64 critical pediatric patients were admitted from Jan 2009 to Oct 2012,and clinical and laboratory findings including pancreatic function,and histopathological features and score after autopsy were reviewed.Results (1) Compared with non-septic shock children,the pancreatic pathology score and serum lipase in septic shock group were significantly higher and serum calcium was significantly reduced (P ＜0.05) ; (2) The pancreatic histopathology score was significantly increased in patients with elevated plasma lactate ≥2 times (P ＜0.05),but there were no significant differences in serum calcium and blood amylase and lipase between patients with elevated plasma lactate level and patients with normal plasma lactate level; (3) The concentrations of serum amylase,lipase and urinary amylase were significantly increased in patients with pancreatic histopathology score ＞4 points compared with score ≤4 points patients,but there were no significant differences in above three biomarkers between patients with score ≤3 points and patients with score ＞3 points.Conclusions The pancreas is vulnerable to damage easily occurred in septic shock children especially complicated with hyperlactacidemia.The pancreatic histopathology score ＞ 4 points can be as a sensitive and reliable indicator of pancreas damage.

Objective To observe the efficacy of percutaneous hepatic cryoablation for the treatment of primary or meta-static hepatic malignancies (<5 cm in diameter).Methods A total of 31 patients (39 tumors <5 cm in diameter) were treated with argon-helium cryoablation system under the guidance of CT or ultrasound.Results Tumor ablation range was 90%-100% in 39 lesions,including 69.23% (27/39) complete ablation.The 1- and 2-year survival rate was 90.32% (28/31) and 61.29% (19/31),respectively.No bleeding and injury of blood vessel or bile duct was noted.Complications of cryoablation included intraoperative shivering in 4 (12.90%) patients,postoperative fever (37.12-38.25℃ in 7 (22.58%) patients and hepatic pain in 6 (19.36%) patients.One patient had severe pain relief until 2 h after cryosurgery with ice-cold skin temperature and stable life index,analgesic had little effect,and no bleeding was found on CT image.Other patients had slight or moderate pain and remained untreated.Conclusion Percutaneous targeted argon-helium cryoablation is a feasible and safe technique in the treatment of small primary or metastatic hepatic malignancies not suitable for resection.

Objective To study the changes of neutrophil surface molecule CD64 and inflammatory factor levels in patients with burn infection. Methods 46 cases of patients with burn infection who were treated in the department of burn in our hospital between March 2010 and October 2015 were selected as the observation group. Meanwhile, 46 cases of healthy people who underwent physical examination in our hospital during the same period were included in the control group. The levels of neutrophil surface molecule CD64, C-reactive protein (CRP), white blood cell count (WBC) and inflammatory factor [interleukin IL-6 (IL-6), interleukin (IL-8), tumor necro-sis factor (TNF-α) in the two groups of subjects were determined by flow cytometry and were compared. Results In the observation group, the levels of CD64, CRP, WBC and inflammatory factors were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The levels of CD64, CRP, WBC and inflammatory factors in patients with burn infection are significantly higher than those in healthy people , which indicates that neutrophil surface molecule CD64, inflammatory factors and burn infection are closely correlated.
