Objective To investigate the conversion rate of subtypes of amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) to Alzheimer' s disease (AD) and assess the contribution of neuropsychological disturbance in progression from MCI to AD over 2 years. Method Subjects from memory clinic of Huashan hospital including 130 of who met the operational criteria for Mayo Clinic defined aMCI by neuropsychological tests covering global cognitive function, executive function, memory function, language function and visual spatial skills. They underwent multidimensional assessment and a neuropsychological battery at baseline and at follow-up, after about 2 years. Diagnosis for dementia was based on National Institute of Neurological and Communicative Disorders and Stroke; Alzheimer' s Disease and Related Disorders Association (NINCDS-ADRDA) criteria. Results Forty-four cases of 130 (33. 8% ) elder people with aMCI converted to probable AD with 17 aMCI-s and 27 aMCI-m subjects within an average 23.8 (6. 8 ) months. There was significant difference between the reversion rate of aMCI-s and aMCI-m (26. 2% vs 42. 9%, x2 = 3.957,P = 0. 047). Moreover, as the disease progressing, the two groups declined similarly in memory and executive function while in the aMCI-s group, the function of spatial structure relatively reserved in aMCI-s but function of language and attention diminished faster, and in the aMCI-m group, the ability of spatial structure declined even more significantly. Conclusion The aMCI-m is more likely to progress to AD than aMCI-s and it' s necessary to divide aMCI into aMCI-s and aMCI-m to help determine prognosis.

Objective To study the effect of pinealctomy and melatonin on the cell cycle distribution during T cell development in thymus. Methods SD rats were divided into 5 groups:normal controls,sham-operated controls, pinealectomy, pinealectomy+melatonin injection 7.5 mg/kg; and pinealectomy+melatonin injection 15 mg/kg.The animals were sacrificed at 4 or 8 weeks after operation.cycilnA +and cyclinE +T cells in thymus were dyed with immunocytochemical ABC methods, measured by computer image analysis.Cell cycle analysis was performed by flow cytometry. The expression of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1? was tested by RT-PCR method. Results The effect of pinealectomy on the expression of cyclinE was stronger than that of cycilnA. Pinealectomy promotes the synthesis of cyclinE in thymus. The percentage of G-0/G-1 phase cells was decreased and G-2/M phase cells was increased. These would be convalescente by supplement with melatonin, but the reaction to melatonin was differencet in thymus cortex and in medulla.Melatonin enhanced the expression of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1? in thymus. Conclusion Pinealectomy influences notably the T cells development in thymus.Rejuvenation of degenerative thymus could be observed by melatonin administration.

Objective:To determine the seroprevalence of celiac disease in susceptible population, and to analyze the relationship between demographic characteristics, dietary habits, lifestyle and serological positivity so as to provide guidance for the prevention and treatment of celiac disease in Southern China. Methods:A total of 1 273 individuals who participated in Guangdong Province Health Screening Program in 2015, were selected as serologically positive subjects of celiac disease, including people with irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, diarrhea, anemia, low BMI, short stature, type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis, psoriasis and bristol grade=6 or 7. All subjects were tested for serum IgA anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (TTGA), IgA antibodies against deamidated gliadin peptides(DGPA) and IgG against deamidated gliadin peptides (DGPG). Dietary habits, lifestyle and demographic characteristics were compared in subgroups. Results:The seroprevalence of celiac disease in susceptible population was 0.94% (95% CI 0.54%-1.64%) including 0.08% (1/1 273) for TTGA, 0.47% (6/1 273) for DGPA, and 0.39% (5/1 273) for DGPG. The seropositive rate was 3.6% (1/28) in patients with psoriasis, 2.1% (2/95) in the low BMI group, 1.9% (1/53) in T1DM group, 1.8% (3/169) in diarrhea group and 1.1% (5/463) in RA group. No significant difference was found in age, gender, high carbohydrate diet or lifestyle between the negative and the positive subjects. Conclusions:In Southern China, the seropositive rate of celiac disease is 0.94% in susceptible population, which prompts an urgent need of serological screening for early diagnosis.
