Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2008;17(4):287-288,290
Objective To strengthen the awareness that hematological tumors present with certain rheumatic symptoms for early diagnosis and treatment to a hidden neoplasm. Methods 15 patients admitted to rheumatic ward with suspected rheumatic disease were finally diagnosed as hematological tumors.Their rheumatic manifestations and occult malignancies were collected. Results A variety of rheumatic manifestations were presented.Among 15 patients,10(66.7%)had fever,6(40%)skin lesion,3(20%)arthritis,6(40%)vasculitis,3 adult onset of Still's disease,2 unelassified, and one of the each following disease:amyloidosis, dermatomyositis, polymyalgia rheumatica, and panniculitis.9 of lymphoma,3 leukemia,3 multiple myeloma were finny diagnosed. Conclusion Rheumatic disorders associated with hematological tumors include a variety of conditions. An extensive investigation for occult malignancies with some rheumatic symptoms is recommended when accompanied by specific findings of suggestive malignancy.
2.The initial study on mechanism in postpone skeletal muscle aging process of D-galactose rats by movement training and soy polypeptide supplement.
Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2014;30(2):142-146
OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of the postpone in skeletal muscle aging process of D-galactose rats by weight training and soy polypeptide supplement in 6 weeks, and discuss the initial mechanism.
METHODSixty male SD rats (three month old)were randomly assigned: 6 week control (C6,) and 6 week model (M6) 6 for each group, 12 week model (M12), big load (B12), small load (S12), peptide (P12), peptide + big load (PB12) and peptide + small load group (PS12) 8 for each group, eight fourteen month rats were taken in the natural aging group. The rats were killed by the end of 6th week and 12th week, tested the indicators.
RESULTCompare with group C6, the indicators in group M6 showed aging in different levels; Compare with group M12, weight training or soy polypeptide supplement in all intervention groups could increase the content of skeletal muscle superoxide dismutase (SOD), SOD/MDA, the serum growth hormone(GH), insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-I)and skeletal muscle IGF-I mRNA, decreased the malondialdehyde (MDA) content of skeletal muscle, and they had notable interaction.
CONCLUSIONRat skeletal muscle aging model can be copied successfully by D-galactose hypodermic, and go on with 6-week weight training or soy polypeptide supplement, they can postpone the skeletal muscle aging process of D-galactose rats, and the two interference way united can have more obvious effect. Its preliminary mechanism may be related to the reduction of skeletal muscle oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, the correction of hormones and related factors metabolic disorders, the elevation of skeletal muscle IGF-I mRNA expression and so on.

Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy and safety of different ways iron therapy in hemodialy -sis patients with renal anemia .Methods 68 cases of chronic renal failure patients treated with hemodialysis were randomly divided into two groups according to the digital form ,each group had 34 cases. The control group was treated with oral iron while the observation group took intravenous iron ,the clinical efficacy of the two groups was observed . Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 61.76% significantly higher than that of the control group′s 32.35%(χ2 =4.781,P=0.029);Two groups of patients′Hb,Hct,SF,TSAT were significantly improved after treatment than before(t =4.931,4.213,5.429,5.107,7.018,6.472,7.821,7.530,all P <0.05),these parameters of the observation group were significantly improved than that of the control group ( t =4.082,3.968, 4.395,4.139,all P <0.05).Conclusion Intravenous iron approach can significantly improve anemia state in patients with CRF hemodialysis , increased serum iron indicators significantly , improved erythropoiesis , and quickly replenish iron stores, correct anemia in patients with CRF .

Aim To investigate the protective effect of RTP1,one of the polysaccharide isolated from Rheum tanguticum,on H2O2 induced apoptosis in IEC-6 cells and its possible mechanism. Methods H2O2(100 mmol?L~-1)was used to induce IEC-6 cell apoptosis.Different doses(10,30,100 mg?L~-1)of RTP1 were administrated before H2O2 was added into IEC-6 cell culture.Cell viability was observed by MTT assay.Reactive oxygen species were measured with laser scanning confocal microscopy(LSCM).DNA content and percentage of apoptosis were assayed by DNA agarose gel electrophoresis, acridine orange staining and flow cytometry. The activation of Caspase-3 was detected with Western blot analysis. Results Following treatment with H2O2 for 2 h,H2O2 induced a significant decrease in cell viability, while DNA ladder was observed and apoptosis percentage was as high as 31.3%.Accumulation of intracellular ROS and increase in Caspase-3 activity were also detected.Pretreatment with RTP1 for 24 h exhibited cytoprotective effects in a dose-dependent manner.RTP1 obviously enhanced cell viability, reduced formation of DNA ladder and significantly reduced the number of cells labeled with Annexin V.The percentage of apoptosis/necrosis cells was markedly decreased to 24.4% and 21.5%,respectively.LSCM showed that RTP1 attenuated the accumulation of ROS.The significant decrease in Caspase-3 activity was detected. Conclusion RTP1 has cytoprotective capacity to antagonize H2O2-induced IEC-6 cell apoptosis and injury, and this effect may be related to decrease ROS and inhibit Caspase-3 activity

Objective To investigate the incidence of depression in patients with advanced malignancy and its effect on quality of life. Methods Patients with advanced malignancy were evaluated with Beck depression and quality of life questionnaires. The correlation of Beck depression scoring with quality of life was analyzed. Results A total of 230 in-patients with advanced malignancy were enrolled in this study and 213 copies of valid questionnaire were collected.95.3 % (203/213) patients had depression. The Beck depression scoring had positive correlation with body, role, mood, cognition, society, vomiting, pain, dyspnea, agrypnia and appetite (all P < 0.05),and had negative correlation with total health factors (r =-0.296,P < 0.01).Conclusion Depression is prevalent in patients with advanced malignancy and correlated with quality of life. Therefore, psychological interventions are needed to relief depression and improve quality of life.

Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 2010;18(2):121-125
Objective To study the clinical application of the complete audiologic evaluation battery consisting of ABR,ASSR and behavioral audiometry in sound field for the identification of sensorineural losses in children. Methods In the study 48 children were divided as group PTA of the children assessed by pure tone audiometry and ABR and ASSR test, and group BA of the children unable to perform on behavioral evaluations. Results The analysis of the audiometric results of group PTA showed significant correlation between the ASSR thresholds and pure tone thresholds(P<0.01) at various frequencies. The correlation coefficients were 0.75,0.76,0.76,and 0.83 at different frequencies. The ASSR-PTA linear regression was utilized. The comparison of the ABR and ASSR results of group BA indicated that 23 ears responded in ASSR but without responses in ABR.Those without ASSR responses also had no ABR There were 116 tests in total four frequencies for the 29 ears.83 responses were obtained from ASSR,89 responses from behavior audiometry and 96 from the use of the both tests. Conclusion The comprehensive audiologic evaluation battery could be used to test younger children with severe heating loss children as compared to the pure tone audiometry alone.More detailed data can be obtained thus from children to assist in rehabilitation in a more effective mariner.
