Objective To evaluate the efficacy of quadriceps femoris fasciculation induced by lowcurrent nerve stimulation when used to assist ultrasound-guided lumbar plexus block. Methods One hundred patients of both sexes, aged 18-45 yr,of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ,weighing 50-85 kg,scheduled for elective unilateral knee arthroscopy, were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups (n =50 each) using a random number table:ultrasound assisted by nerve stimulator group (group SU) and ultrasound group (group U).The shamrock method was used to perform the ultrasound-guided lumbar plexus block in two groups. In group SU,the nerve stimulator with current 0.35 mA and frequency 1 Hz was used in the process of puncture, and 0.5% ropivacaine 0.4 ml/kg was administrated when quadriceps femoris fasciculation was induced. In group U,when the tip of the nerve stimulating needle was located around the lumbar plexus, which was confirmed by ultrasound,0.5% ropivacaine 0.4 ml/kg was administrated. The time of puncture, depth of needle insertion, onset time of block and effective block were recorded.Motor block was assessed using the modified knee score, and the development of complications was recorded within 24 h after block. Results Compared with group U,the onset time of block was significantly shortened, the rate of effective block was increased, the degree of motor block was aggravated (P<0.05),and no significant change was found in the time of puncture or depth of needle insertion in group SU (P>0.05).No complications were observed in two groups. Conclusion Low-current (0.35 mA) nerve stimulation-induced quadriceps femoris fasciculation when used to assist location can improve the efficacy of ultrasound-guided lumbar plexus block.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the mechanism that the formulas for activating blood and resolving stasis can regulate hemopoietic stem cell to produce new blood.
METHODRats were established animal model of acute cerebral infarction by referencing Olivette' method. They were randomly divided into model group, the group of the high, middle, low dose of the formulas for activating blood and resolving stasis. Each group and then wasrandomly divided into subgroups by 1, 3, 7, 14, 28 d. Xuesaitong capsule was formulated into 20, 40, 60 g x L(-1) with normal saline. The rats were given gavage drugs once a day until the experient ended, and the model group was administrated by intragastrical perfusion of normal saline. ELISA was used to detect the expression of SCF in peripheral blood and bone marrow among different groups at different time points. Flow cytometry was used to observe the changes of CD117 in blood and bone marrow.
RESULTThe CD117+ HSC and SCF concentration in peripheral blood and bone marrow of model group were increasing during 1-14 d,there was a peak on the 14th day, then the expression was reducing. CD117+ HSC and SCF concentration rising trend in the group of the high, middle dose of the formulas for activating blood and resolving stasis was preceded model group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONActivating blood and resolving stasis can regulate hemopoietic stem cell to produce new blood, and it is through the regulation of CD117+ HSC number to achieve the purpose.

International Journal of Pediatrics 2016;43(4):329-332
Objective To study the EEG discharge index, intelligence test and event-related potential P300 in BECT, and to analyze the change of EEG discharge index and cognitive function before and after the treatment. Methods Sixty patients with BECT were enrolled in this study, they were treated with EEG, intelligence tests and P300 before and after the treatment. Results (1) The EEG discharge index were reduced remarkly after treatment in BECT with levetiracetam and lamotrigine, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).(2) Comparing before and after 3 or 6 months treatment, the latency of P300 had reduced with significant difference (P < 0.05).(3) After 3 months treatment, VIQ and FIQ has no obvious improvement, but PIQ has improved. After 6 months treatment, VIQ、 PIQ and FIQ were improved. The difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).(4) There was a negative correlation of EEG P300 latency (r =0.175), as well as there was a negative correlation between EEG discharge index and intelligence test (r =0.044).Conclusion There is impaired cognitive function in BECT, especially the more frequently the EEG discharge, the more extended of P300 latency, as well as the more serious damage of intelligence and cognition after treatment. The intelligence were improved after treatment with Levetiracetam and lamotrigine, the longer the treatment time, the more obvious of intelligence levels improve.
