Objective To compare the effect of inhaled corticosteroids and montelukast in children with asthma .Methods Data were obtained from Pubmed ,Embase and Central databases ,CNKI and VIP .Only randomized controlled trials (RCT ) that evalua-ting inhaled corticosteroids and montelukast for children were included .The Cochrane collaboration risk bias tools was used to eval-uated the quality of literature .Results The patients with inhaled corticosteroids had a better effect in FEV 1% and PEF than pa-tients with montelukast ,the incidences of adverse drug reactions had no statistically significant difference .The patients with inhaled corticosteroids combined with montelukast had a better effect in FEV 1% or PEF than patients with inhaled corticosteroids only . Conclusion The effect of inhaled corticosteroids is better than montelukast ,the effect of inhaled corticosteroids combined with montelukast is better than inhaled corticosteroids only ,and has drug safety .

The data of awarded research achievements of Cancer Hospital/Institute CAMS & PUMC were analyzed in this article.It showed that achievements were mainly focused on esophageal cancer,head and neck cancer.liver cancer and cervical cancer.However,the main disciplines for the achievements were etiology,genetics,cell biology,immunology and surgery.These results indicated that base on the cancer control practice in China,focus on prevention in field stations,close collaboration among different disciplines and keeping the academic team working efficiently and developing continually is the key to obtain thus research achievements.

OBJECTIVE:To probe into the status quo and the developmental trend of oral hypoglycemic agents used in our hospital.METHODS:Using the defined daily dose as the study unit to make statistic analysis of oral hypoglycemic agents used in our hospital during 2004～2006 in respect of DDDs,consumption sum and average daily cost etc.RESULTS:Both the categories and consumption quantity of oral hypoglycemic agents increased year by year while the proportion of consumption sum was descending.Over the 3 years,dominating the first 5 places on the list of DDDs were glipizide,metformin,gliquidone,gliclazide and glibenclamide,respectively.CONCLUSION:The clinical use of oral hypoglycemic agents was basically reasonable in our hospital.

Objective To evaluate the effects of inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) therapy combined with conventional ventilation in the infants with persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN).Methods NO inspiration was added for 22 infants with PPI-IN ventilated with FiO2≥0. 9,PIP≥30 cm H2O,PEEP≥3 cm H2O,RR≥50 bpm for 4～6 hours,with SpO2 still < 90% and PaO2 <55 mm Hg. The iNO concentration started at (10～20)×10-6 for 20 infants,and (20～40)×10-6 for 2 infants. The iNO would be stopped when the concentration reached 40×10 -6 without any sign of improvement. The SpO2 ,blood gas analyses,blood pressure, heart rate and NO: concentration were moraitored during therapy and the resulting data compared to readings before administration of int. Results Clinical situation were significantly improved in 20 (91%) of the infants with SpO2 gradually going up after 10 minutes of int. Before iNO,mean Fit2 was 0. 9±0. 1 ,SpO2 was(76. 3±13.3)% ,and Pat2 was (46. 4±10. 1 ) man Hg. From 1 to 6 hours after iNO,SpO2 increased to(95. 1±3.8)% ,Pat2 increased to(92. 8±24.7) mm Hg,FiO2 decreased to 0.6 s0. 1.The differences were significant (P < 0. 01 ). Eighteen of 22 (82%) infants surviving. Conclusion iNO is effective in alleviating PPHN in infants. There are no remarkable side effects. It is more beneficial to start the iNO concentration at (10～20)×10-6 while some infants may need NO concentration at up to (20～40)×10-6.

Objective To analyze the shortcomings and explore measures in medical nursing to improve quality. Methods The students were divided into experimental group (29 students) and control group (28 students). For the former group, we put a set of new teaching methods, including enhancing students theoretical knowledge and teachers had to prepare well, helping students learn to use the nursing process, sorting out the characteristics and contacting different diseases. After clinical clerkship, we conducted students to follow the case in order to learn more .The latter group received traditional teaching methods. Results The application part and total scores in examination of experimental group were higher than the traditional group (P<0.05). Conclusion The new teaching measures may improve students' learning initiative, communication skills, and develop their clinical thinking.

Objective To evaluate the performance verification of serum copper detected by Roche Cobas 8000 automatic biochemical analyzer.Methods Referring to CLSI files and other documents,the precision,accuracy,analysis of measuring range and reference interval of serum copper from Roche Cobas 8000 automatic biochemical analyzer were verified.Results The coefficient of variations (CV) of within-run precision with high and low values were 2.96％,2.91％,respectively;CV of the between-run precision with high and low values were 3.07％,2.99％,respectively,which were all less than the CV provided by the manufacturer (10.00％).The bias between detection results and target value were 1.78％ and 1.56％,respectively,which were all within the measurement range of quality assessment.Analysis of measuring range of the detected items was in line with the linear range provided by the specification.The quotative biological reference range conformed to the group of this laboratory services.ConclusionThe main analytic characteristic of serum copper measurement by Roche Cobas 8000 automatic biochemical analyzer is consistent with acceptable quality standards,and the experimental evaluation project of CLSI shows maneuverability and practicability.

AIM　Taxane diterpenoid compounds are expected to be isolated from Taxus chinensis cell cultures. METHODS　Cell cultures were extracted with 95% alcohol, distributed by different solvents, isolated via column chromatography on silica gel and purified by crystallization. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION　Two taxane diterpenoid compounds were isolated from Taxus chinensis cell cultures for the first time.Their structures were identified as 14β-(2-methylbutyryl)oxy-2α,5α, 10β-triacetoxytaxa-4(20),11-diene(1) and 5α-(cinnamoyl)oxy-7β,9α,10β,13α-tetraacetoxytaxa-4(20),11-diene(2) respectively.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of Astragali Radix on the denervated tibial muscle atrophy in rats, and discuss its mechanism.

METHODTotally 60 SPF-grade Sprague-Dawley rats were selected in the common peroneal nerve crush model, and then randomly divided into 6 groups: Astragali Radix high-dose, medium-dose, low-dose groups, the Mecobalamin group, the model group, and the sham operation group. They were administered with drugs after the operation. At 18 d, the pathological section staining and morphological analysis were performed. The wet-weight ratio and section area of tibial muscles were also measured. The real-time fluorescence quantification was adopted to detect the differential expression between Angptl4 and PI3K genes.

RESULT(1) Wet-weight ratio: The wet-weight ratio in Astragali Radix high-dose, medium-dose groups was much higher than that in the model group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). (2) Section area: The sham operation group was higher, with regular morphology; Whereas the model group showed significant decrease, with chaotic structure and obvious connective tissue proliferation; Astragali Radix groups and the mecobalamin group showed relatively small section areas, with chaotic structure and unobvious connective tissue proliferation. Compared with the model group, Astragali Radix groups showed significant increase (P < 0.01). (3) Motor end plate: The sham operation group was in uniform brownish black color and oval or round shape; Astragali Radix medium-dose and high-dose group and the mecobalamin group showed rough line edges; Astragali Radix medium-dose and low-dose groups and the model group showed decline in the number, with irregular morphology, rough line edges and a light color. (4) Angptl4 and PI3K: Compared with the model group, the Astragali Radix high-dose group showed significant increase (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONAstragali Radix has a significant effect in preventing and treating denervated tibial muscle atrophy. It may delay the muscle atrophy by increasing Angptl4 and PI3K gene expressions.
