Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(2):115-119
OBJECTIVETo observe the short-term and long-term efficacies on primary dysmenorrhea treated with staging acupoint embedment therapy.
METHODSSeventy cases of primary dysmenorrhea were randomized into an embedment therapy group and a fenbid group, 35 cases in each one. In the embedment therapy group, the embedment therapy was applied twice during the menstrual cycle, one treatment 3 days before menstruation and one treatment during the 12th-14th days of menstruation, respectively. Guanyuan (CV 4), Zigong (EX-CA 1), Diji (SP 8) and Ciliao (BL 32) were the main acupoints in the treatment 3 days before menstruation. Shenshu (BL 23), Ganshu (BL 18) and Pishu (BL 20) were the main acupoints in the treatment during menstruation. In the fenbid group, fenbid was prescribed for oral administration, 0.3 g each time, twice a day, starting 3 days before menstruation till pain was relieved. The treatment of one menstrual cycle was one session. The continuous treatment of 3 menstrual cycles was required. The short-term and long-term efficacies were evaluated at the end of the 3rd cycle and in 3 months after the treatment terminal. The dysmenorrhea score was used to evaluate the efficacy. Visual analogue scale (VAS) and SF-36 were for the assessment of pain degree and life quality.
RESULTS(1) The total effective rate was 91.4% (32/35) in the embedment therapy group after the 3 menstrual cycles, which was better than 74.3% (26/35) in the fenbid group (P < 0.01). In the follow-up stage, the total effective rate was 91.4% (32/35) in the embedment therapy group, which was better than 40.0% (14/35) in the fenbid group (P < 0.01). (2) The differences were not significant in dysmenorrhea score and VAS score after the 1st and 2nd menstrual cycle treatments between the two groups (all P > 0.05). In the 3rd menstrual cycle and the follow-up stage, the dysmenorrhea score and VAS score were reduced obviously in the embedment therapy group as compared with those in the fenbid group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The rebound effect occurred in the follow-up stage in the fenbid group. (3) In the 3rd menstrual cycle and the follow-up stage, the improvement in the total score of life quality of the embedment therapy group was superior apparently to the fenbid group (P < 0.05, P < 0. 01).
CONCLUSIONThe staging acupoint embedment therapy achieves the superior short-term and long-term efficacies as compared with the oral administration of fenbid in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. As the symptoms of dysmenorrhea and pain are relieved, the life quality is improved.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 1994;0(06):-
Objective To improve the awareness of the CT and/or MRI appearances and clinical presentations of Kasabach-Merritt syndrome(KMS),6 cases were reported. Methods The CT and/or MRI and clinical characters of 6 cases of KMS were reviewed and analyzed. Results Thrombocytopenia, and consumption coagulopathy were presented in all 6 cases. The paravertebral mass of posterior mediastinum, right pericardial lesion, skin and soft tissue of left arm were shown as iso-,hypointensity on T1-weighted image,iso-,hyper-intensity on T_2-weighted image, and with heterogeneous enhancement after contrast administration in three cases.Splenomegaly was presented in one case,it showed homogenous hypoattenuation on unenhanced CT,and diffused heterogeneous enhancement after contrast administration. On MRI,spleen was shown as hypointensity on T_1-weighted image, hyperintensity on T_2-weighted image, and with heterogeneous enhancement after contrast administration. There were lesions in both bones and spleen in one case.Osteopenia and thinned cortex were shown on the metaphyses of upper and lower extremities.Spleen enlarged and showed multifocal hypoattenuation lesions, the peripheral region enhanced on the early phase, and some of the lesions filled on the delayed phase after the contrast administration. One case showed huge hypoattenuation lesion in the left lobe of liver with gradually filling of the mass after peripheral enhancement. Conclusion Thrombocytopenia and consumption coagulopathy suggest the entity of extensive hemangioma.Splenomegaly with diffuse or focal hypoattenation or hypointensity in MRI infers the diagnosis of hemangioma.
7.Expression of chemokine receptor CXCR3 mRNA in patients with atopic dermatitis.
Journal of Southern Medical University 2007;27(7):1084-1085
OBJECTIVETo investigate the role of chemokine receptor CXCR3 in patients with atopic dermatitis.
METHODSThe expression of CXCR3 mRNA was measured by fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and the relationship between CXCR3 mRNA expression and the disease severity (graded according to SCORAD index system) was assessed by correlation analysis.
RESULTSCXCR3 mRNA expression was significantly higher in patients with atopic dermatitis than in healthy control subjects (P7lt;0.01), and showed obvious positive correlation with SCORAD index system.
CONCLUSIONThese data suggest an important role of CXCR3 in the development and progression of atopic dermatitis.

Objective To investigate the standardized treatment of 33 children with thalassemia and their family financial burden registered in Bao'an district, Shenzhen city, and to provide basic information for formulating health policy for the government. Methods In 2009, preliminary investigations on 39 registered families with thalassemia children were conducted by telephone, and a household survey was made to collect treatment and economic status by questionnaire on 33 children. Results Among 33 cases of thalassemia children, 21 cases(63.7%) were severe anemia, 5 cases( 15.1%) in need of care or special care, and 25 cases(75.8%) were difficult or unable to maintain standardized treatment. The average family monthly income and expenditure was (4060 ± 2002) and (4926 ± 2991) yuan, respectively. The average monthly treatment costs were (2665 ± 1872) yuan, and the average debt amounted to (64 600 ± 53 940) yuan. Fifteen families[60.0%(15/25)] would reduce the times of blood transfusions or iron transpirations when they encountered revenue deficiency. Conclusions The heavy economic burdens on families with children thalassemia result in inadequate or interrupted treatment on sick children and affect their survival and quality of life, which should be taken more attention and social care.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2015;31(6):425-431
OBJECTIVE:
To analyze the balance function of injured lower limb by dynamic posturography.
METHODS:
Using the dynamic posturography instrument, the postural evoked responses of sixty-two normal people and two hundred and fifty-eight people with injured lower limb bones and joints were detected. The test was included sensory organization test (SOT) and adaption test (ADT). The results of two groups were compared by t test.
RESULTS:
Compared with the normal people, the impaired people had significant statistical differences in balance scores of SOT3-SOT6 and proportion score of dynamic proprioception (P < 0.05). There was no obvious decrease in ADT.
CONCLUSION
The balance function of injured lower limb significantly decreases.
