Objective Observed by ultrasound, this study investigated anatomical characters of median nerve affecting the minimal current intensity of percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (PNS).Methods Forty healthy adult volunteers were enrolled in this prospective observational stud-y.PNS was performed with a stimulating pen in 2 Hz,0.2 ms,3 mA probe mode for cubits the me-dian nerve localization.Stimulation current was adjusted according to the motor response and the min-imal current intensity at which the motor response was obtained was recorded. There after, the medi-an nerve was observed with ultrasound imaging at the location point. Then, the depth, diameter, area and circumference of the nerve were determined. Results The minimal current intensity was (1.9 ± 0.6)mA and the depth of nerve was (6.1±1.7)mm.The linear regression equation between the mini-mal current intensity and the depth of nerve is:Y (nerve depth,cm)=0.359 +0.135X1 (minimum current intensity,mA),the determination coefficient R2 =0.25 1 (P <0.01).Conclusion The stimu-lation threshold of PNS localization the median nerve was correlated to the depth of nerve, which sug-gests that PNS not only can determine the position of the peripheral nerve, but also can help predict the depth of the peripheral nerve according to the minimum stimulus current.
2.Role of pharmaceutical interventions in parenteral nutrition: prescription standardization and error prevention
Chinese Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2014;22(3):167-170
Objective To investigate the effects of pharmaceutical interventions on parenteral nutrition. Methods Data collection sheet (with data, ward, patient general information, type of irrational prescribing, type of error, process of error, intervention content, and intervention results) for recording pharmaceutical interventions was designed. The prescriptions of total parenteral nutrition in our hospital from January 1st,2013 to December 31st,2013 were retrospectively analyzed.Pharmaceutical interventions were carried out for unreasonable prescriptions. Results A total of 6 454 prescriptions were reviewed during the research period, among which pharmaceutical interventions were provided for 154 prescriptions (2.39%).Totally 160 errors were identified, and 44 were prevented. The intervention acceptance rate was 98.70%.Conclusions Pharmaceutical interventions can adjust unreasonable prescriptions and modify errors. It is useful to promote the clinical drag use in a safe, rational, effective, and economical manner.
3.HPLC determination of ursolic acid in Kangzhitong Jiangzhi Capsule
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(08):-
Objective: To establish a method for HPLC determination of ursolic acid in Kangzhitong Jiangzhi Capsule. Methods: HPLC,chromatographic column Kromasil C18(4.6mm?250 mm,5?m)and the mobile phase consisted of methyl alcoholwater-ammonium acetate-acetonitrile(9∶25∶0.8∶65) were used to find ursolic acid. The flow rate was 1.0ml?min and the detector wave-length was set at 215nm.Results: The calibration curve was in good linearity over the range of 64-320?g/ml(r=0.9996).The average recovery rate was 100.10%,with RSD=1.32%.Conclusion: This method is simple, accurate and reproducible so it can be used to determine the content of ursolic acid in Kangzhitong Jiangzhi Capsule.

Objective To evaluate the value of MRI in acute ankle distortion without evidence of fracture. Methods The MRI appear-ances of 21 cases with acute trauma in the ankles were retrospectively analyzed, focusing on the presence or absence injuries of lateral collat-eral ligamentous complex, bone and osteochondral lesions,MRI was performed within 48 h of trauma. Results Bone bruise was observed in 15 patients. There were injuries of the lateral ligaments in 4 cases and the medial ligaments in 1 case. Injury of the osteochondral lesion was in 5 cases and Achilles tear was in 3 cases. Conclusion MRI have diagnostic value for acute ankle injury.

[Summary] The genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood leukocyte of the patient with thyroid hormone resistance syndrome and 14 members of his family. The exons 1-10 of thyroid hormone receptor β (TRβ) gene were amplified by PCR.The products of PCR were sequenced directly to detect the gene mutation. The results showed that 3 members of this family were confirmed to have the C→T transition mutation at nucleotide 1 303 site within exon 10 of TRβ gene, and the missense mutation results in the substitution of histidine to tyrosine (H435Y).The heterozygous mutation may lead to the occurrence of thyroid hormone resistance syndrome.

· Vascular endothelial growth factor is indispensable inducing factor in retinalangiogenesis. After the retinal neovascularization of proliferative diabetic retinopathy ( PDR ) patients, it can cause fibrovascular membrane formation, epiretinal membrane fibrosis increased, resulting in traction retinal detachment with further aggravate the condition. The recent research suggests that cytokines promote fibroblast proliferation, movement, adhesion, and secretion of extracellular matrix functions in the diabetic state of the environment changes to profibrogenic state, resulting in the accumulation and fibrosis of extracellular matrix. This paper reviewed the status quo of the correlation between vascular endothelial growth factor and fibrosis-related cytokine.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Sky Bone Expander System in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral body compression fractures in the elderly.MethodsTwenty-five cases (26 vertabrals)with osteoporotic vertebral body compression fractures were treated by Sky Bone Expander System.ResultsAll the 25 cases completed the surgery successfully, with an average operation duration of 35 min (range:30 -60 min).We injected 2.7 -4.5 ml bone cement to each vertebrae with an average of 3.5 ml.No blood vessels and nerves damage or other complications were found. The height of vertebral was restored.ConclusionSky Bone Expander System could effectively treat osteoporotic vertebral body compression fractures in the elderly. The height of vertebral could rebound and kyphosis could be improved.Furthermore,Sky Bone Expander System could relieve pain and reduce the leakage of bone cement

This study aimed to identify Belamcandae Rhizoma, Iridis tectori Rhizoma and their adulterants by ITS2 sequence. All the DNA samples of Belamcandae Rhizoma, Iridis tectori Rhizoma and their adulterants were extracted. The ITS2 sequence were succesfully amplified, and purified PCR products were sequenced. All the sequences were assembled using the CondonCode Aligner V3.7.1. The Kimura 2-Parameter (K2P) genetic distances and the Neighbor-Joining (NJ) phylogenetic tree were calculated by using MEGA5.1. Results indicated that the maximum intraspecific genetic distances of Belamcandae Rhizoma was 0, and the average GC content was 52.22%;the maximum intraspecific genetic distances of Iridis tectori Rhizoma was 0.004, and the average GC content was 67.87%. The maximum K2P intraspecific genetic distance of Belamcanda chinensis, Iris tectorum were both lower than the minimum interspecific genetic distance of adulterants. Additionally, the ITS2 sequences in each of these polytypic species were separated into pairs of divergent clusters in the NJ tree. The NJ tree based on ITS2 sequence indicated that Belamcandae Rhizoma, Iridis tectori Rhizoma and their adulterants could be distinguished clearly. It could be concluded that ITS2 barcode can be used to correctly identify Belamcandae Rhizoma, Iridis tectori Rhizoma from their adulterants, and ensure their safety in use.
