1.Water Quality of Different Sectors of Yangtse River Before and After Three Gorges Reservoir Keeps 135 m Water Level
Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(05):-
Objective To know water quality of different sectors of Yangtse River after the Three Gorges reservoir kept 135 m water level. Methods Eight locations in six cities sectors(Fengdu,Wushan) of Yangtse River were selected as the monitor point and water samples were collected according to the related national standard (GB12997,1991). 96 samples were collected in May and August, 16 parameters (pH, DO, BOD5, CODCr, Ar,OH, TCN,As, Hg, Cr6+, oil, Pb, Cd, NH3,N, TP, TN, CODMn) of every sample were detected based on the methods documented in the related national standards and compared the results with the results of past years. Results 135 m water level had no significant influence on the water quality of different sectors of Yangtse River(II, III grade). Water quality had no significant change before and after 135 m water level emerged the primary contaminations which effect water quality were total nitrogen and total phosphors. Conclusion No significant change of water quality of Yangtse River has been seen after the Three Gorges reservoir kept 135 m water level.

5.Clinical and pathological features of macroscopic hematuria associated acute kidney injury in IgA nephropathy
Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine 2001;0(03):-
Objective The current study was to investigate the clinical and pathological features of macroscopic hematuria associated acute kideny injury (MH-AKI) in patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and its associated prognostic factors. Methods We performed an analysis on the clinical and pathological features of biopsy-proven IgAN patients diagnosed during 2004 to August of 2007,who had experienced MH associated AKI.The patients enrolled in the study were followed up.The renal lesions were evaluated with Katafuchi pathological scores of IgAN.Results 5 patients with IgAN had experienced at least one episode of MH-AKI,accounting for 1.3% of IgAN diagnosed during the same period and 13.5% of IgAN patients with macroscopic hematuria.High proportion of tubules filled with red blood cell casts and tubular injury were demonstrated in all biopsy specimens.Renal function of 3 patients completely recovered within 14 days. One patient (patient 4) got quick recovery in the first month of the disease but completely recovered 418 days later. The other patients only had an incomplete recovery during the 20-month follow-up.The incompletely recovered one had relatively an older age, longer persistence of MH,more sclerotic glomeruli and a more severe tubule-interstitial damage. Conclusion AKI is commonly seen during episodes of MH in patients with IgAN.Not all patients with MH-AKI showed a complete recovery.Age,duration of MH,proportion of glomerular sclerosis and the severity of tubular necrosis might be the risk factors of an incomplete recovery of renal function.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(07):-
Objective To investigated the distribution of intraluminal thrombus (ILT) in abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs), and to examine the influence of age, gender and aneurysm diameters on the ILT formation. Methods Morphological analysis of ILT in AAA of 103 consecutive patients was undertaken with helical CT angiography. ILT shape, distribution and thickness of ILT were recorded and analyzed in correlation with age, gender and aneurysm diameters. Results ILT were found in 66.9% of all the patients. ILT was always situated in the area away from the main axis of AAA. The incidence of ILT in female group (n=13) was much lower than that in male group (n=90) (15.5% vs 77.4%, P

8.Study Progress on Relationship between Intractable Epilepsy and Multidrug Transporter

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1992;0(06):-
Epilepsy is a common nervous system seizure disease in children,20%-30% of them is intractable epilepsy. The pathogenesis of intractable epilepsy in children is not yet identify. Some research think that this may be associated with resistance of a variety of diffe-rent mechanisms of antiepileptic drug and abnormalities of multidrug resistance gene expression. The most investigation of multidrug transpor-ter is P-glycoprotein,multidrug resistance-associated protein. They are present in cell membrane and belong to adenosine triphosphate-dependent membrane transport protein.Studies have showed that over-expression of multidrug transporter in temporal lobe brain tissue of patients with refractory epilepsy and animal model of chronic epilepsy reduce the concentration of therapeutic drug in cells. They result in resis-tance by releasing the energy and transferring large amounts of anti-epileptic drugs to exterior of brain capillary endothelial cells in way of active transport. The relationship between multidrug transporter′s structure, distribution, functions and drug-resistant epilepsy are reviewed.

To investigate effects of cultured astrocytes from Sprague Dawley rat cerebral cortex on the development of PC12 cellsderived from rat pheochromocytoma, PC12 cells were cocultured with astrocyte according to different astrocytes/neurons ratio(50:1~1:1) , or with serum-free conditioned medium of astrocytes(ACM). The vitality of PC12 cells was measured by sensi-tive MTT method and their morphologic features were observed by Olympus light microscope. The results showed: (1) WhenPC12 cells were cultured with ACM, compared with the control group, the vitality of PC12 cells was increased significantly (0.255+0. 012 vs 0. 510±0. 036, P<0. 001) and the morphological changes were not obvious in the experimental group. (2) WhenPC12 cells were cocultured with astrocyte in the ratio of 30: 1~1: 1, not only was the vitality of PC12 cells enhanced, but alsothe neurite-outgrowth of PC12 was observed. (3) When PC12 cells were cocuhured with astrocyte in proportion of 50: 10~40 : 1, the vitality of PC12 cells was also enhanced, but the neurite-outgrowth of PC12 was not found. This study suggested en-hancement of PC12 cell-vitality was mediated by soluble factors produced by astrocytes, while activity of the neurite-promotingwas associated with cell-cell contact and with the ratio of two cells.

BACKGROUND:Polylactic acid-glycolic acid polymer is a sustained-release material with relatively large drug loading and long-term release abilities that can degrade with cel growth in the body. However, its poor hydrophily easily leads to aseptic inflammation that is detrimental to the body’s recovery. OBJECTIVE:To study the release and distribution of anti-tuberculosis drug delivery materials local y oriented within the rabbit radius. METHODS:After modeling, 20 New Zealand white rabbits with distal radius bone defect were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, which were respectively given implantation of isoniazid-rifampicin polylactic acid-glycolic acid polymer/β-tricalcium phosphate material and isoniazid-rifampicin polylactic acid-glycolic acid polymer into the defect. Then, X-ray examination of the defect region was conducted at weeks 4, 8, 12 post implantation. Histological observation and detection of peripheral blood or local blood concentration were performed at week 12. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After implantation, Lane-Sandhu X-ray scores were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group (P<0.05). The defect in the experimental group was healed completely with less release residual among newborn bone trabeculae and osteocytes were markedly visible on the material surface, while in the control group, new bone tissues were interconnected with the surrounding bone tissues at the defect site, and less release residual was found. Both peripheral blood and local blood concentrations in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group after implantation (P<0.05). To conclude, the anti-tuberculosis drug delivery material, isoniazid-rifampicin polylactic acid-glycolic acid polymer/β-tricalcium phosphate, has ideal release effect that can stably deliver anti-tuberculosis drugs for a long term at a high bactericidal concentration.
