1.TWO CASES OF CONGENITAL ADRENAL MEDULLARY NEUROBLASTOMAS
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
This paper reported two cases of congenital neuroblastoma of adrenal medulla origin. Of which one from a newly born baby with extensive metastasis besides a primary tumor lived only to 66 days. The other was found primarily in the adrenal medulla of a two-year old child with metastasis in multiple organs and in skull. In connection with these cases, the pathogenic character as well as histogenesis and causes of this tumor were analyzed and discussed.

4.Luteoma of pregnancy
Philippine Journal of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility 2009;6():10-15
Virilization in female newborns as a result of an ovarian mass known as luteoma of pregnancy is a rare condition. A case of a maternal pregnancy luteoma responsible for virilization of both newborn and mother is reported. Luteoma of pregnancy, first described by Sternberg in 1963, is usually asymptomatic and is discovered incidentally during a cesarean section or postpartum tubal ligation. To date, fewer than 200 cases have been reported in the literature. This report describes a case of a virilized pregnant woman first seen in active labor who eventually underwent cesarean section for arrest of descent. Intraoperative findings showed a well circumscribed, pedunculated mass attached to the left ovary. A healthy baby girl was born with masculinization of the external genitalia.

5.Travel Medicine in Primary Care
The Singapore Family Physician 2014;40(1):33-38
International travel is growing despite economic and geographical challenges. Travellers should seek pretravel advice 4 to 6 weeks before departure. Required immunisations include yellow fever and meningococcal vaccines. The common recommended immunisations are based on risk assessment. These include typhoid, cholera, hepatitis A, Japanese encephalitis and rabies vaccine. Common illnesses in returned travellers are mainly due to gastrointestinal diseases, febrile diseases and dermatologic diseases. Evaluation of the travel-related illness requires an understanding of geographical distribution of infections, risk factors for transmission of infection, incubation periods of common infections, clinical presentation and appropriate laboratory investigations. Syndromic approach to the evaluation of illness in a returned traveller is important for post-travel diagnosis.

AIM: To report the treatment of macular oedema secondary to idiopathic retinitis, vasculitis, aneurysrns, and neuroretinitis (IRVAN) with intravitreal triamcinolone.METHODS: Case report.RESULTS: A patient diagnosed with IRVAN with visual loss secondary to macular oedema. The macular oedema and her visual acuity was improved dramatically with the administration of intravitreal triamcinolone.CONCLUSION: Previous reports recommend treatment of IRVAN with panretinal photocoagulation, vitrectomy, systemic and periocular steroids. Our case shows that intravitreal triamcinolone appears to be a safe and effective treatment for macular oedema and vasculitis secondary to IRVAN.

Western Pacific Surveillance and Response 2015;6(2):82-89
Dengue has caused a substantial public health burden in the Western Pacific Region. To assess this burden and regional trends, data were collated and summarized from indicator-based surveillance systems on dengue cases and deaths from countries and areas in the Western Pacific Region. In 2012, dengue notifications continued to increase with 356 838 dengue cases reported in the Region (relative to 244 855 cases reported in 2011) of which 1248 died. In the Asia subregion, the notification rate was highest in Cambodia, the Philippines and the Lao People's Democratic Republic (316.2, 198.9 and 162.4 per 100 000 population, respectively), and in the Pacific island countries and areas, the notification rate was highest in Niue, the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia (8556.0, 337.0 and 265.1 per 100 000 population, respectively). All four serotypes were circulating in the Region in 2012 with considerable variabilitiy in distribution. Regional surveillance provides important information to enhance situational awareness, conduct risk assessments and improve preparedness activities.
10.A Narrative Review of Different Types and Processing Methods of Acrylic Denture Base Material
Annals of Dentistry 2018;25(2):58-67
Acrylic resin is commonly used to fabricate removable prostheses due to its adequate physical, mechanical
properties and cost effectiveness. There has been continuous development of the materials to improve their
properties and to widen its application in different clinical setting. To study the history development of the
acrylic resin and elaborate on the properties of different types and the processing methods of acrylic resins
used to fabricate denture base which are commercially available in the market. This would help the dental
clinician in choosing the best material of choice. The authors have summarized the history, development and
classification of different types of acrylic resins used in fabricating denture and processing methods based on
all the published research available on this topic using published materials available in the Dental Library,
University of Malaya and the database (Science Direct, PubMed). Every type of acrylic denture base material
has its pros and cons. Therefore, careful selection of material and the processing method is crucial to ensure
the best outcome for prosthodontic treatment. Hence, upholding the patients’ best interest and improving
their quality of life.
