1.An Innovative Design of Massage Assembly.
Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2022;46(1):52-56
When the conventional massage assembly is running, the massage intensity is not monitored, the massage effect is not ideal, and there are hidden dangers. In this paper, a new type of massage assembly is designed, which can measure and control the intensity of massage in real time. The result of the prototype test shows that the design achieves the desired effect. The newly designed massage assembly has a high degree of intelligence, and has obvious breakthrough in the aspects of safety, comfort, massage curative effect and service life.

3.The Effects of Hand Massage on Comfort in Women with Gynecologic Cancer Undergoing Chemotherapy.
Journal of Korean Oncology Nursing 2010;10(1):88-94
PURPOSE: This study was to identify the effect of hand massage on comfort in women with gynecologic cancer undergoing chemotherapy. METHODS: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used for this study. Hand massage was provided to the experimental group for 5 min (2.5 min for each side) once on admission day, twice from the second day until the day before discharge, and once in the morning on discharge day. RESULTS: Findings showed no significant differences in pre and post levels of general, physical, psycho-spiritual, social and environmental comfort. However, women's comfort levels in all domains were increased after the chemotherapy in the experimental group. CONCLUSION: Although there were some increases in women's comfort levels on all domains after the treatment, hand massage was not proved as a statistically useful nursing intervention in comforting women with gynecologic cancer. The results suggest that hand massage could be effective if it is applied longer than it was in this study. The future implications of hand massage in patients with various cancers are discussed.

4.Effect of Digital Massage en Intraeeular Pressure.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1975;16(1):53-58
This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of digital massage of gLobe on intraocular pressure in 36 eyes of 32 patients from 13 to 72 years of age divided into the groups of each decade. The author paid attention to whether digital massage made a contribution to the prevention of vitreous loss during intraocular operations. Prior to digital massage, intraocular pressure was measured initially and then digital massage was applied for five minutes. And intraocular pressure was again measured immediately after termination of ocular massage, thereafter at five minute intervals repeatedly until the reduced intraocular pressure by means of digital massage returned to initial level. The author studided correlations of changes of intraocular pressure in each age group and at each time interval. The final results were as follows: 1. The mean intraocular pressure reduction by digital massage was 5.20 mmHg corresponding to 32.3% reductial of the initial intraocular pressure. 2. The mean recovery time to the initial intraocular pressure from the reduced intraocular pressure by digital massage was 17.4 +/- 6.7 minutes. Approximately twenty five minutes after digital massage, the iatraocular pressure returned to the initial level in most cases. 3. In the age group under 20 years, recovery time to the initial intraocular pressure was more rapid and the mean intraocular pressure reduction was significantly lower than in the other age groups.

Journal of Medical Research 2007;47(1):65-68
Background: Feeding baby by mother’s breast milk play an important role in primary health care. Objectives: To assess the effectiveness of improving secretion of mother’s milk by massage-presspoint method through several clinical indicators. Subjects and method: 33 mothers suffering oligogalactia after 5 months of delivery were applied the method of massage-presspoint. The technique was performed on Giap Tich points from D1-TL3, one time per day with 30 minutes of each time and treatment period of 20 days. The opened clinical and comparing pre-post treatment methods were used in the study. Results: 50% of good results, 36,67% of better and 13,33% of failure. Conclusion: The method of massage ?presspoint can improve the secretion of mother’sbreast milk, which were evidenced through some clinical indicators measuring on mothers and babies feeding mother’s milk.

10.Comparison of the Effects of Hand Massage Provided with Different Intervals and Periods on Pain and Sleep Disturbance after Orthopedic Surgery.
Korean Journal of Rehabilitation Nursing 2015;18(2):128-134
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of hand massage provided with different intervals and periods on pain and sleep disturbance after orthopedic surgery. METHODS: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The subjects were admitted in an orthopedic hospital to get a surgery. They were divided into three groups. Group I (n=30) had hand massage every day. Group II (n=30) had hand massage every other day. Control group (n=31) had usual care. Data of all three groups were collected on the day before operation, POD (postoperative day) 6 and POD12. Hand massage was given for 2 and half minutes per hand. RESULTS: Pain on POD6 of experimental group II was reduced more than those of control group. Pains on POD12 of both experimental groups were reduced more than those of control group. On POD6, only perceived sleep disturbance (PSD) was significantly different among groups. On POD12, PSD, total sleeping time, and sleep efficiency were more improved in the experimental groups. CONCLUSION: Hand massage was effective on the reduction of pain and sleep disturbance after orthopedic surgery. Applying hand massage on alternate day was effective enough. Also the effects were more obvious after 12 days.
